Chapter Text
Luxana Crownguard stood in front of the blank wall on the Crownguard estate, feeling more than a little proud of herself, ever since finding out about the blue haired inmate, she had been planing this, it had taken a lot of her own personal funds to set up and arrange.... But not today.
She watched as the two guards marched up the inmate, sullen, skinny but tall, dressed in a badly fitting prison garb, they brought her before Lux, who did her very best to seem every inch the noble she was. "You may remove the chains." She commanded.
The guards looked at each other. "Are you sure my lady? She took down several guards while being away arrested."
Lux gave a thumbs confident smile. "The Crownguard estate is sufficiently guarded and my brother has trained me in self defence if needed."
Reluctantly, the guards removed the thick, heavy chains from the woman and stepped back, hands resting on the hilts of their blades as Lux walked in front of the taller woman, looking up into those fascinating magenta eyes. "You may be wondering why I paid your bail."
The tall girl scratched her short blue hair. "The thought did cross my mind blondie."
Lux grinned. "I have seen your works around town, so vibrant, so full of life... So different.... So." She points at the blank wall. "Ta da!"
The tall girl blinks. "Ta da?"
"I want you to paint, to cover this wall, make it live! You could say I am supporting an aspiring artists.... Oh I forgot." She held out a hand. "I am Luxana Crownguard, who might you be?"
"Jinx."
"Just Jinx?"
"Worked so far...." Jinx ambled over to a tarp by the base of the wall and pulled it back, revealing a ladder, a range of brushes and paints. "So you want me to paint? Fine blondie, been asked to do crazier things." She crouched down, pealing the lid off a paint can as if it was nothing and dipping her finger in, watching the consistency of the paint before standing up and cracking her knuckles.
Lux watched enthralled under her sun umbrella as servants brought her tea and snacks for the next two hours as Jinx worked, painting first the portrait of a young, gap toothed girl with blue hair and amber eyes, then a ripped pink hair fighter, a wolf man, a man with a scared face, the blue haired woman threw herself into her art, random chaotic images forming between the portraits, using hands, fingers, paint brushes, everything as she worked.
Lux sat there as the sun slowly set, marveled at how much work Jinx had done.... She would have to commission another wall built at this rate. Getting up, she walked over and rested a hand on Jinx's shoulder, feeling the muscles tense before relaxing. It was only up close that she realised Jinx had been crying. "Are.... Are you okay?" She asked softly.
Jinx sniffed and rubbed a paint stained hand under her nose, smearing colour above her lip. "You know blondie.... Yeah, this... This felt good, letting the past out...."
Lux took her hand away and noted it was covered in paint. "Well, it is dinner time... And you need a bath, follow me."
"What? Am I like some sort of pet?"
Lux blushes. "What? No, you are my guest... I.... Um... I would like to learn about you Jinx, if that's okay?"
The loose canon rolled her shoulders. "Fine, but no funny business, I bite."
For some reason, Lux's heart skipped a beat at that.
