Debby had still been asleep when Josh and Jenna got up and went out for the morning. Tyler had woken up when the bathroom light was turned on and told them he would stay home with Debby. He sat up and reached over for his phone, scrolling on twitter till Debby woke up.
Debby turned over and put her hand on Tyler’s arm. “Mmmfh.”
“Good morning Debs, did you sleep well?” Tyler turned off his phone and ran his hand over hers.
“Nnn,” Debby moved and pushed herself into Tyler. “Where mmama an dadda?”
Tyler took a deep breath, when Debby was regressed she needed it to be explained when someone was leaving by the person or she got worried that she did something bad. Tyler moved to pull Debby so she was laying on his chest. “Jen and Josh went out for a little bit but they’ll be back by lunch time,” Tyler rubbed her back and she looked up at him, tears already forming in her eyes.
“But I didn see them.”
“I know sweetie, but you were sleeping and you looked so cute and we didn’t want to wake you up. They’ll be back in about two hours sweetie, I promise they’ll be back and we can play cuddle bug,” Tyler smiled and tried to make the younger girl feel better.
“They tell you?” A tear rolled down her cheek but she seemed to calm down.
“Yes sweetie they told me they’d be back around lunch,” Tyler nodded his head and Debby gave a small smile. “What do you want to do till they come back sweetie?”
“Bluey an play?” Debby asked and moved off of Tyler.
“Sure, what do you want to play?” Tyler climbed off the bed before noticing that Debby was still sitting on the bed staring at him with her arms open. He walked over and picked her up and carried her down the stairs.
“Can we play slime?” Debby asked when they made it to the bottom of the stairs. “I promise won’t make mess!” She smiled when Tyler nodded his head yes. “Thank you papa!”
Tyler froze in front of the couch. “W-what?” He looked at Debby with surprise and happiness.
“Sorry!” Debby tried to cover her face.
Tyler sighed and set her on the couch resting his hands over her wrist lightly pulling. “It’s okay sweetie, if you want to call me papa you can,” Tyler rubbed his thumb over her wrist in an attempt to calm her. Debby moved her hands and sniffled. “Here, let's get out some slime and I’ll put on some Bluey okay?” Tyler gave a comforting smile.
“Facey Talky please?” Debby requested quietly.
“Of course I’ll put Facey Talky on! I’d be crazy if I asked if you wanted to watch Bluey and put on any other episode,” Tyler replied in a playful silly voice and smiled when Debby giggled and took the slime he’d offered her.
“Thank you papa!”
“Of course sweetie,” Tyler sat down beside her on the couch and grabbed the TV remote.
Debby played with her slime for about fifteen minutes tops before complaining it was too wet feeling and making Tyler put it up. Tyler put the slime up and sat back down on the couch and Debby slowly crawled over to him and laid her head on his chest. “Thank you papa.”
“What for sweetie?” Tyler looked down at her and ran his hand through her hair.
“Stayin home wif me,” Debby looked up at Tyler and smiled.
“I'd stay home with you any day baby,” Tyler kissed the top of her head.
Debby turned her attention back to the TV before soon falling asleep. Tyler was starting to wish he'd grabbed his phone, but just decided to take the TV while the girl was sleeping. The front door opened and Debby's head lifted instantly, almost scaring Tyler who was starting to fall asleep as well. “Back!” Debby jumped off Tyler and ran to the front door. Jenna and Josh were quickly being enveloped in a hug by the little girl.
“Hi sweetie, we were only gone for a little bit,” Jenna kissed the top of her head.
“Woke up n it just papa,” Debby looked up at Jenna and Josh. “You gone.”
“We're sorry baby. You were still asleep and Ty said he'd stay home so me and Joshie could go for a run.”
“Plus, we had fun watching Bluey and sleeping for like an hour didn't we?” Tyler walked over to the three and joined the hug.
“What if me and Jen took a shower and then we can play cuddle bug on the counter?” Josh suggested and ran his hand through Debby's hair.
“Okay!” Debby smiled and jumped letting Josh and Jenna go.
When Josh and Jenna climbed the stairs Tyler started to walk to the kitchen knowing Debby would follow. He grabbed four plates from the cabinet and turned to Debby. “We're going to make sandwiches for lunch. Do they sound yummy?”
Debby nodded her head yes and went to the pantry to grab the bread and peanut butter. “Chips?” Debby smiled and grabbed a bag of Doritos.
“Yes we can have chips,” Tyler placed the bread on the plates. “Do you think we should all have PB and J’s or should we make Joshie his double ham and cheese?” Tyler asked playfully, knowing what the obvious answer was.
“Make Joshie ham cheese samich!”
Tyler made the four sandwiches with help from Debby and carried the plates to the living room and setting them on the table in front of the couch. Debby ate her sandwich quickly, happy Tyler had cut the crust off and down the middle. She was finishing her chips when Tyler finished half of his sandwich and they heard Josh and Jenna coming down the stairs. “Samiches!” Debby smiled and pointed at the plates.
“Thank you baby! You made me my double samich?” Josh smiled and picked up Debby, placing her in his lap and reaching for his plate.
“Papa made it, I just grab the stuff,” Debby told Josh like it was a secret, but not quietly at all.
“Well thank you both,” Josh kissed the top of Debby’s head and leaned his head on Tyler’s shoulder. “Are we gonna watch some more Bluey?”
“Yeah!” Debby clapped her hands and then turned her attention to the TV.
The older three finished eating and Tyler took the plates to the sink, before coming back to the living room. “Cuddle bug?” She asked and laughed when Debby jumped, almost hitting Josh’s chin. “Come here sweetie,” she opened her arms and sat in the corner of the couch. Debby buried her head in Jenna’s chest and Josh moved in between Jenna and the couch holding the two of them. Tyler stretched and moved to lay down beside Jenna and the edge of the couch wrapping his arms around Josh and holding on to not fall off. Last time they played cuddle bug Tyler had fallen asleep in the same position and fallen off of the couch and scaring Debby and Josh, so he promised he would hold on to something so he didn’t get hurt.
“Love you mama, papa, and dada,” Debby moved her face out of Jenna’s chest and back to the TV.
“We love you too baby,” Josh kissed the side of her head and played with her hair.
Debby fell asleep a little while later with Josh falling asleep as well not so long after. Tyler and Jenna smiled at each other, happy with the life they shared.
