Chapter Text
"I discovered it." Soleil said, voice muffled as he chewed the cherries he had put in his mouth. Sitting down at one of the chairs in the Big House.
"Discovered... what?" Dionysus asked, raising an eyebrow at the demigod, who appeared out of nowhere and just sat there with him just... just because, apparently.
"I discovered-" Soleil muttered, stopping himself as he ate some more of the cherries. Dionysus just stared at the boy with a perplexed expression.
He waves a hand in a impatient 'keep going' gesture. "WHAT?!" He asked with a little more annoyance, and the kid flinched and shot him an annoyed look.
Soleil quickly finished eating his cherries, and stook his tongue out at Dionysus in a childish manner. "I discovered," he swallowed. "Your birthday."
He stared at Dionysus, who just stared back at him in silence. None of the two moved for a moment, they just... stared.
"How?" Dionysus asked.
"That doesn't matter." Soleil said, shaking his head.
"How?"
"Doesn't matter."
"How?"
"Doesn't matter."
"Little fucker, how?" Dionysus asked in a quieter tone, leaning closer to the demigod.
Soleil looked up at Dionysus with a certain look in his face. "I am a very annoying and insistant little thing. I can annoy anyone into doing anything I want them to." He shrugged.
Dionysus stared at the boy, then he gave an amused, but faint, chuckle, nodding his head with a slight smile as he leaned back against his seat.
"So, what gift did you get me?" He asked the boy.
"Why do you think I got you a gift?" Soleil shrugged.
Dionysus just raised an eyebrow at the demigod, still with that slight smile on the corner of his mouth.
"Well," Soleil said, looking away for a moment. "You can't drink alcohol, so, no wines or anything for you, as a birthday," he shrugged, looking back at the god.
Dionysus made a sound, as if still slight amused but also annoyed that the kid decided to reminded him of that. "And?" He asked.
"And, well, since you can't drink, it was kinda hard to discover what to give to you," Soleil shrugged his shoulders again. "But, then, I finally got it. Cherries." He said with a smile, lifting the glass jar of cherries he was eating from.
"... cherries?" The god repeated slowly, staring at the jar. "And not even cherries, eaten cherries." He scoffed.
"Well, yeah," the boy said. "Cherries naturally have alcohol in them, and I heard that you... can actually get drunk if you eat a lot of them." He whispered to the god.
Dionysus just stared down at the kid, then he raised an eyebrow at him. "Oh?" He mused. "Hm..." he looked down, grabbing the jar from the boy and just staring at it for a moment. "Well, that is... something."
"I know." Soleil said with a smile, puffing out his chest and sitting up straighter, clearly feeling proud of himself. "I am great."
"Sure, sure, kiddo," the god said, ruffling the demigod's hair. "Sure, whatever you want to believe at, boy."
The god leaned back against his seat with a sigh, resting his back against the wall as he picked up ad started eating some cherries.
He grabed one and offered it to the boy, who shook his head with a disgusted expression.
"I don't want it, you already touched and eat it." He said, lifting his hands up in a 'no' gesture, looking more disgusted at the cherries now.
"You did it first." Dionysus said, sounding annoyed and slightly surprised by the kid's reaction.
"Yeah, but, it is different."
"How?! How is it different, Soleil?!"
"Because it is!"
"It is not!"
"It is!"
"It is not!"
"It is!"
"It is not!"
"It—IS!"
"It is—NOT!"
"AHHHHHH!" Soleil shouted at him, like a kid throwing a tantrum.
"AHHHH!" And Dionysus shouted back, matching the demigod's energy very easily.
Chiron sighed, standing at the other side of the other room, where he had been at for the last few minutes, just trying to read a book and translate it into Ancient Greek for the demigods while listening to the two's conversation.
