It was expensive, but it was worth it.
You had a bit of a spring to your step as you returned back from the daily auction, prize in hand. A little something for your girl back home.
Especially seeing as she hadn't been quite feeling well lately.
What had been the problem? Well, it was someone rude, who had managed to make ENA feel bad enough with their insults and whatnot, that she had been feeling rather blue lately. Tired, sad, not really getting outside to do much.
The negative effects had really been strong lately...
...So.
With the very noble sacrifice of 60 chocolates and 2 fatty catties, you had managed to bring back home something you thought- nay, you knew ENA would like.
Because you cared about her. You loved her... and what better than to cheer her up and put a smile on her sweet face once more?
"What is that?"
"Nothing." Your response is short and cheeky, and you hide what you brought from ENA's view. This seems to do the trick, and she immediately grows curious, floating around your other side. It's her blue side, still active, but you know by now that ENA's blue side is occasionally capable of expressing things other than sadness. Key word being occasionally, it's not common at all, but it happens.
Now she's curious, her yellow side active as she grows more and more interested in what you'd brought.
You can't help but grin. ENA's so cute! She's like an excited puppy sniffing all over you for treats. Sometimes it's hard to believe she's some kind of.. you suspect eldritch being, given she exists in the code world and has all these strange forms you aren't aware of.
And the fact she's well old enough to drink, too (you'd seen enough of that when she had gotten drunk and tried pranking you and Moony).
For now, ENA is peering around your body, and trying to keep herself from getting too grabby with you, though that's quickly failing. She's soon putting her hands on your shoulders and peeping over them, and you close your hands playfully, before she can get a proper view at your gift.
At that, her blue side crosses her arms and makes a huffy noise, looking away with a dramatic sort of spin.
"I'm sowrry-" ENA sniffles, and looks down. "It's your thing, isn't it..."
You chuckle and shake your head, turning around around to face ENA. "It's a surprise," you clarify. "Just for you."
"H-huh?" Turning to you, you see ENA wiping at her eyes. "Fow.. me?"
Reaching out, you smile and lay your hand on ENA's shoulder, and nod, apologizing for seeming like you were trying to keep it away earlier. You offer her the bundle you'd brought with your other hand, still wrapped in its nice brown cloth, and watch as ENA's eyes widen in curiosity - still on her blue side. You bite your lip and hope she'll stay there, offer her some proper emotional closure after that idiot the other day.
Or just... just something that would cheer her up, bring her out of the funk.
Eager, you watch as ENA unwraps the item, her eyes sparkling as she gasps with excitement. The layered brick-like item.. candies, gleaming enticingly on top.. the sweet scents of cooked almonds and sugar.. it could only be...!
"A Tuwwón?!"
You nod and smile. "Surprise!"
ENA beams, a smile so wide it transfers right to her yellow side, and she wiggles with delight, waving her arms around excitedly. "Turrón! Turrón! Turrrrrón!"
She holds it up in the air, turning it around, examining the surface of it. "And of such a fine quality! A most magnificious finding, N! Thank you!"
You smile and lean against the wall as ENA breaks a piece off the sweet, and offers it to you. Surprised, you tilt your head, and ask– "Don't you want it?"
Her other side answers, to your further surprise,
"Yeah, bwut... you got it fow me.. so you should get some too!"
Before she would get too upset, you take the piece from her, feeling a wave of satisfaction at having succeeded- at least you think you have, but ENA seems to be more enamored over picking the candies off her Turrón and popping them into her mouth.
Stars. For someone so unpredictable and wild.. ENA really was a force of kindness in this world. She was your guide here, after all, helping you live and adjust to everything in... wherever this might be.
Looking down at your own piece, it occurs to you, you've never actually tried a Turrón before.
So you decide, what the hell, bringing the piece to your mouth as ENA watches with anticipation. It snaps between your teeth, hard and crunchy. Sweet. Nutty. The candy on top adds a nice sugariness to the flavor.
ENA grins, clearly happy that you're liking her favorite treat.
And you grin back, too. After all, treats always tasted better when you were enjoying them with your loved ones.
