Chapter Text
Pencil took a long drag. She knew vaping was bad for her as was made abundantly clear by her ’alliance’.
“I just don’t want you to like, die.” The voices spun around in her head. “yoyiu should see what that kind of thing doies to yoyier health.” Pencil didn’t care, she just wanted her air to taste like candy floss.
“Pence,” Pencil’s foggy head was brought back to earth at the sound of Ruby’s sharp, hollow voice “I have another job for you.”
“What’s the deal this time Rubes, making more Gumdrops, collecting the ingredients-” she was about to list more of her usual tasks but was cut off.
“No, nothing like that tonight, it’s much more exciting. You know how Ice Cube has been following the Rebels.”
“yes?”
“Well we recently got info on a detailed invitation to the next several gatherings, it’s only a matter of getting it.”
“I see, and who do I need to… persuade”
“Every Rebel has an invitation so… you can choose.”
“Fanny.”
“we’re not going to the head of the organization. She holds too much power, not just over them, but over us too.”
“Fine.”
“You know, I think this is a much more hands-on job, I’m calling everyone.” She was one of her word, she stood there and physically called each and every one of them and soon all three came one after the other.
After conferring for a bit on who they hated the most they came up with a plan.
“Okay so here’s the plan we like, kidnap Pin, she should have a card, and we persuade her to like, give it over,” Match explained.
“And thoin what?” Bubble asked.
“Oh Bubble, oh dear sweet Bubble, we’re gonna kill her.”
“D-douin’tcha think thoit’s a bit hoirsh.”
“Well we don’t want her leaking any information.” Ice Cube butted in.
Ruby explained further, “From what our intel has gathered she takes these walks every night at 9:00 down to the park to swing for half an hour, then goes to the 24/7 store to purchase paprika then goes back to her apartment at around 9:54.”
“So when are we doing this.”
“Tomorrow night.”
“Hey guys, sorry I’m late,” Book came running in, panting.
“Wow, Bubble got here before you” Pencil remarked snidely.
“Well,” Ruby exclaimed, clapping her hands together in the kind of way that you know your conversation has stopped and that it’s her turn to talk “this is all very lovely but, I don’t see a reason to be gathered oh so formally anymore you are dismissed, but Brooke, Icy,” her face dropped, snapped even, into a cold, bleak expression “My office, I need to talk to you both, n o w."
The two of them followed her sheepishly into TCOA and stood, hands behind their backs in front of Ruby “This is of the greatest importance, someone has leaked vital information.”
