Chapter Text
Anemone was focused, her eyes squinted as she carefully threaded the tiny beads onto the frail string.
It had to be perfect.
She had spent days planning the perfect date for her and Tamarin, pulling her Rich Princess™ strings to rent out an expensive, highly rated restaurant so they could have it all to themselves.
Tamarin wasn't really into that kind of thing, but anemone knew how to make it special.
The restaurant she chose was owned by RainWings, who served vegetarian food native to Tamarin's kingdom.
They would eat the food while laughing at the extreme presentation that usually accompanied restaurants such as those.
Perfect.
She then planned to bestow her hand-crafted bracelets upon her, each containing golden seashell and wave charms, representing the sharpness of anemone, and how Tamarin would always cool her down, gentle and soft, but thrashing and aggressive when need be, forming a protective ring around her girlfriend.
Perfect.
They would go home and cuddle on the couch while watching a poorly-written rom-com, one of their favorite activities as a couple.
Perfect.
Anemone would make them dessert, a chocolate cake Kinkajou told her about that was one of Tamarin's favorites, though she hadn't had it since leaving the RainWing kingdom to attend jade mountain academy.
Perfect.
Right before bed, Anemone will hand Tamarin a handwritten note in braille, -which Anemone had learned a while ago, as she thought of it as basic decency to translate her love letters into something her love could read, rather than the big romantic gesture some made it out to be- that would ask Tamarin, the one person who could always calm her down but get her giddy with excitement and make her heart beat twice as fast at the same time, the one person who was so precious to her that she wanted to keep her in a box forever so no one could get to her, but also felt so protected standing behind, so safe.
Finally, after what felt like a decade, but was really only 2 years, she was going to propose.
And it would be
Perfect.
