Summary:

gerard gets the stomach flu...regrets not getting his flu shot that year,

Work Text:

Gerard has felt questionable all week. What started as a headache morphed into a tummy ache and nausea.

But so far, the actual act of vomiting had eluded him.

Gerard felt it all come crashing down Thursday night while nursing his upset belly.

His stomach gurgled as hot slop filled his belly and he didn't know if he'd puke or have a runny tummy first.  He felt his stomach slosh and squelch audibly as he ran to the bathroom.

He whimpered as his belly warned him of the inevitable. He pulled down his pajama pants and grabbed the trash knowing he was in for a long miserable night.

He pulled away the bin three hours later, exhausted and dizzy.

“Dad!?”

“Uuuuuuhhhhhhhhh…….” Gerard groaned, feeling like a train had run him over.

“Shh, do you want medicine?”

Gerard shook his head, sniffling.

“You really feel like garbage, don't you?”

“Uh-huh….”

A low grumble came from Gerard's belly as he doubled over in pain.

A cry escaped him as he hugged his stomach.

“Um, I don't know how to help!” Bandit gasped exasperated.

“Tummy rubs??” Gerard begged and made  circular motions on his belly.

Bandit rubbed his tummy as he cried.

She hugged him as he hiccupped.

“Hhhhuuurrrtttssss….” Gerard groaned.

“I know,” Bandit cooed as she pushed hair out of his grey-green face.

Gerard finally passed out from sheer exhaustion and slept for 36 straight hours.

When he woke up, Gerard felt dizzy and nauseous but at least the bathroom wasn't moving anymore.

He sat up, tentatively and waited for his stomach to clench up or for him to be sick. He felt the familiar pull of nausea in his belly and leaned over the trash, dry heaving.

He couldn't get anything up so he resigned himself to sitting on the floor, sipping on a soda that Bandit must've set out to settle his belly.

By Saturday evening he felt well enough to sleep in his bed with Lindsey and he woke up Sunday to his belly growling hungrily.

“Oh! I've missed toast and sprite for the last week!!!!” He gasped as he munched on his breakfast.

He went around the house feeding the cats and working on some new music, grinning.

He finally decided maybe he'd get his flu jab this year, just maybe.
