Work Text:
For Watson, finding Holmes bloody was hardly unusual. Holmes had little care for his safety, and although a skilled fighter, often emerged from cases wounded.
Holmes insisted his injuries were nothing. Watson knew better, but also knew better than to think he could persuade Holmes otherwise. Cases always came first.
So, Watson simply tended the results of cases. He bathed away blood, cleaned and disinfected cuts, and bandaged wounds. Occasionally, he stitched gashes, splinted bones, and removed bullets.
Holmes had little care for his own safety, but Watson was quite determined that his own care would balance out such matters.
