Work Text:

It was a good idea. Pretty good story and pacing too. I wonder how would Anne see this character? Which archetype will she ascribe it to?

Diana's thoughts whirled around like flies in her head, not really helping her focus on the book. She was waiting for Anne to finish her job so they could go on a date later. Her usual hanging spot was the library nearby, where the friendly librarians already knew her by name. They all became such good friends, that Dianne regularly got served tea. She doesn't know where the tea comes from, or who makes it, but she always accepts it, when one of the staff members bring her a cup.

Her tea is being sipped with a cool and calm facade, even though Dianna gets more nervous by the minute. Though she doesn't know why because this wasn't their first date and it probably won't be the last. Trying to relax more, she reclines on the chair and let's the book fall on the table. Reaching out for her lukewarm tea she gulps and feels the heat travelling though her throat. "What a relaxing beverage."

She looks over to see if the tea had a name, and snorts when she finds out. "These librarians sure have a funny sense of humor. Or better said a good one," she concludes and slowly continues her previous engagement. When the sound of fast running feet reach her, she knows who they belong to. Anne appears soon enough, and Diana greets her with a smile. "Sorry for my lateness my dear! It was an emergency!" Anne shouts out and gets shushed by the nearby librarian. She apologetically nods and quickly comes over Diana's chair. "No worries Anne. I understand. I was just enjoying this beautiful library tea and this fairly interesting book, so I did not pass my time in idleness." Anne expresses the interest about her term of library tea (which Diana knew she would, a curious fox as she is) so she show her what she saw. Anne also snickers at the name and proclaims it the height of comedy.

Diana being her besotted girlfriend of course completely agrees. Then the devilish temptress sits down on Diana's lap and proceeds to play with her hair. "Your raven hair is lovely this evening." The aforementioned raven-haired woman hums at that and also starts to play with Anne's hair. "Isn't it lovely all the time? Why only now?"

"Because right now I am paying attention to it, so I see it more clearly than before. Though of course you are right it is lovely all the time. I just don't always have the time to notice it," Anne confesses, putting her face on Diana's shoulder near her flowing hair. "Indeed," Diana whispers it near her ear, and slowly puts her hand on Anne's head. They stay like that for a while, basking in each others embrace and warmth. Then as it usually goes, Anne breaks out of the lethargy and jumps up in preparation for another adventure.

"That was fun! Now onward to other pursuits! Let's go Diana we have a train to catch!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming, stop pulling me along," Diana says and obediently follows after the red-headed tornado of energy in hopes of finding what she is looking for. Because everyone knows, what Anne finds interesting, Diana profusely agrees.

Notes:

While looking up a specific tea I could use in this setting I stumbled onto this one. So here is the link for those interested: https://www.birdandblendtea.us/products/candlelit-library?shpxid=0fe7e963-8dd1-4944-9db4-9683b43f1139
