Chapter Text
A bitter taste clings to her tongue as she wakes, eyes burning as she struggles to open them, to the sight of the glow-in-the-dark stars of her room.
She must have fallen asleep after dinner, she thinks muzzily, and tries to sit up.
Panics, when she can’t. As she struggles, she’s aware of a spreading numbness along her body, her limbs, her face...
“Awake again?”
It’s her sister, who cleans her face gently with a handkerchief. Who had smiled at her oh so gently, and offered her that drink.
She’s smiling now.
“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of you now.”
