Work Text:
Making a noise that could only be described as a discontented chuff, Chasca sat down. The ground was hard; the many blankets piled around did little to change that. Or how cold it was outside.
Mualani, meanwhile, was practically doing laps around Chasca. "S-so cold…"
Chasca snorted. "You're the one who wanted to come cheer them on, dear. It's not my fault you didn't realize it wasn't blue skies and hot springs."
"Chaaaasca!" she whined. "No being mean, 'kay? How are you even talking? I can hear my teeth clattering around!"
"Because I made myself a nest over here, that's why. If you're that cold then come over here. I've already warmed up the blankets."
Mualani was already running, jumping, landing right on top of her. Chasca squawked. "Hey, your elbow is in my gut!"
"You're the one who wanted me over here!"
"Maybe I still wanted to be able to breathe, hmm?"
"Sorry…"
Chasca snorted. As caustic as she could be, she was never very good at resisting Mualani's baby saurian eyes. "Why don't we actually get under the blankets then? You need to warm up. Your skin is much too cold."
"Mmph. You are warm."
"Come on, then. I don't think anyone will need us for a few hours. We can have ourselves a nap."
Mualani was already asleep, head on her shoulder.
