Work Text:

On the entire way home from pre-season workouts all Giyuu can think about is how excited he is to see Sanemi; his sapphire; the love of his life.

He couldn’t stop thinking about it the entire week actually. Through 21 outs drills at practice and conditioning runs that he absolutely hates doing, the borderline torture still didn’t get rid of the giddy feeling in his chest at the thought of his boyfriend.

His boyfriend, Sanemi, was the world champion wrestling player,he always looked crazy but hot when he would slam men to the ground and wrap the belt around his waist. Sanemi was in season throughout all of winter;  Giyuu never really got to see Sanemi unless it through FaceTime or call, it helped but it didn’t take away the pain of being apart.

Even though he’s about to go into season as a baseball player. The coach was nice enough to allow the players two weeks in the end of January, to the beginning of February to go home and talk to their loved ones or relax before they would be gone all the way up to the middle of June. This week just happened to fall on Valentine’s Day as well.

Giyuu has a plan. He is not gonna procrastinate on this just to come Valentine’s Day and Sanemi gets another plushie and ohagi, meanwhile he spoils Giyuu rotten with food, luxury and sexual services, and gifts.

No, this time he’s gonna spoil Sanemi rotten. He is  going to try to tell Sanemi he doesn’t have too, but Sanemi will just call him a dumbass and kiss his forehead. Giyuu feels like Sanemi does too much to deserve mediocre from his boyfriend.

He pulls up to their suite in the Jeep Sanemi got him two Christmas’s ago. He pulls into the driveway and puts the car in park. He was wearing his practice uniform with black crocs on instead of his cleats to not drag mud on the floor of his car. It was cold outside so he had a jacket on but it still bit at him, so no.

Giyuu closed the car door and walked up to the front door with a key swinging in hand. As he goes to put the key in the lock the front door swings open before he can insert it and low and behold Sanemi is the one at the door.

Giyuu somehow falls even more in love with him every time they see each other.

Sanemi was wearing no shirt, showing off his very beloved muscles and gray sweatpants that hung a little at the waist. Giyuu thought life couldn’t get better than this in the slightest when he saw Sanemi so comfortable.

“Giyuu!” He exclaimed, Sanemi grabbed him, picking him up and pulling him into the house while spinning him around. Giyuu was giggling into Sanemi hair the entire time.

Giyuu nuzzled into his white hair, “Were you waiting for me at the door,” Giyuu puzzled.

Sanemi chuckled, “Maybe”

He put him down and kissed him on his forehead.

“How was the conditioning today,” Sanemi questioned.

Giyuu groaned,  “Same as always, taxing and boring,”

Sanemi nodded as he walked into the kitchen grabbing something off the counter. Turns out it was a bowl of salmon daikon. Classic Sanemi, always trying to spoil Giyuu. He liked it either way.

Oh, thank you nemi,”

“You Welcome, knowing your ass you probably survived on sausages and oatmeal.” He explained.

“I would not,”

He absolutely did survive off of sausages and oatmeal in his early college years.

“Eat that then come meet me in the bedroom, I got a surprise for your birthday,” Sanemi instructed.

Giyuu completely forgot about his birthday. Fuck.

Giyuu cringed, “Oh— that was today?”

Sanemi scoffed deep in throat, “only you would forget about your own damn birthday.”

“I wanted to spoil you for Valentine’s Day like you always do me,” he admitted with a grimace.

Sanemi smiled at him, “You don’t have too Giyuu, I like spoiling you anytime I can.”

“I know you do but I just want you to see you have a good time as well, we don’t see each other for a lot of the year so i wanted to surprise you; especially since you made world champion,”

Giyuu stopped looking at his food and clapped his hands,  “Congratulations by the way,”

Sanemi blushed, “thanks sweetheart, how about this? I spoil you for your birthday; even though I already have. And you spoil me for valentines; not promising I won’t spoil you still,”

“Okay,” Giyuu says.

“Good now finish that food before it gets nasty,”

He walked away down the hall. Giyuu sat at the table and ate a piece of salmon; It felt like he bit into a piece of heaven. Juicy and crisp just the way he likes it. Sanemi cooking always made Giyuu come to terms that he was home, not in sweaty stinky, unsanitary gyms, not in the humid but cold outside air running 13 poles on a baseball field when they didn’t even run that much in-game. But at home, where he can see his world-wrestling champion; handsome husband walks around the house in nothing but sweatpants and his reading glasses; looking just like a snack on a Saturday afternoon.

He finished his food, and put the bowl in the sink to be eventually washed later. He turns around and prepares to go to the bathroom to take a shower, Sanemi and Giyuu do not joke about not wanting to bring anything from outside onto their bed; that bed is supposed to free of worry; phones ignoring the press and social media and cuddling in domestic bliss while watching reality tv shows of woman fighting over a man that cheating on all of them with each other.

Outside germs are a no.

He strips out of his baseball pants and shirts, taking off his sliding shorts and cup. He is cringing from the cracking of his knees. Being a catcher of a pitcher that is “sore”, while pitching the ball everywhere but the damn glove. He shouldn’t have to work to get the damn ball. It's not hard to throw a ball to a specific spot overhand. Heck, Softball girls have to throw it underhand and they still get it to the mit.

He assembles his 7 step skin care routine on the counter then jumps in the warm shower that Sanemi swears the temperature is boiling hot. He washes with a bar of unscented soap first to his private parts, then he takes the oceanic spray body wash and cleans the rest of his body with a loofah of course. He doesn’t use those bacteria-infesting washcloths; one time he used the wrong washcloths with a roommate and broke out into hives because of a “problem” the person had.

Never again.

He washes his hair with a citrus-scented clarifying shampoo and conditioner for his thick locks. Once he shaves and exfoliates he steps out of the shower, and wraps a towel around his midsection. He takes another towel to wet hair. Walking over to the sink he does his 7 step skincare routine he and Sanemi swear by completely. Once done his hair is relatively dry, and skincare, one by one, is applied; he wrings his hair out and he’ll leave Sanemi to comb it cause he can go to where Giyuu won’t feel like he damn near scalping himself while brushing.

In their house, there are two separate entrances to the bathroom and one is from the hallway and another is from the room they stay in. He walks to the other door to their bedroom.

Sanemi is sitting on the bed, phone in hand looking bored until Giyuu walks out the bathroom. He throws his phone to the side and hands him a matching pair of gray sweatpants.

 “Wanna match?”

Giyuu nods his head in affirmation, grinning. He tabs some boxers and puts the grey joggers on. Giyuu doesn’t bother walking to the other side instead he flops on Sanemi and nuzzles on his body.

Air got punched out of Sanemi, Oof, “Giyuu you could have walked your but to the other side of the bed,”

“Didn’t feel like it,” he mumbled.

 “Asshole,”

He puts his head on his favorite place on Sanemi, Sanemi’s chest. It acts as his personal, heated pillow for cold nights on the go.

“So what’s the surprise you wanted to show me,”

Sanemi shifts, “oh shit— yeah,” he pulls up his phone and starts messing with it,  “okay you know how the damn Super Bowl is soon.

Oh that’s right! The Super Bowl is soon. Despite him and Sanemi not even being slightly American, the Super Bowl is a tradition Sanemi and Giyuu both love to participate in. They love to cook traditional American football game day food and watch the game. Betting on who was going to win and having punishments for the losers that could range from bragging rights, all the way to other activities.

“Yeah I know, why?,”

“Look,” Sanemi points to his phone.

Sanemi then hands him his phone. On the phone there were bars with the team Seahawks Vs The Patriots.

“What is this?”

Sanemi rolled his eyes and pointed to the top where the URL was. It said Super Bowl tickets . Com, then It hit him.

“Are these Super Bowl tickets?”

“No, they are acceptance letters from Hogwarts,” he joked, “Of course they’re Super Bowl tickets.”

Giyuu's eyes widened and his jaw dropped open.

“ Sanemi—how the hell did you get Super Bowl tickets! These are like a tens of thousands of dollars right now,”

“I was offered them by a sponsor for free, at first I wasn’t gonna take them but then I looked at the date and realized that your birthday and the game are on the exact same day, So I thought, why not,”

“What a freaky coincidence,”

Sanemi laughs, “We leave Friday so start packing some stuff for a 4-day trip. I already got you a pack of essentials from the dollar store.”

“But you can do that shit later, right now I just wanna have ya,” Sanemi started to kiss all over his face. He swears to gosh that Sanemi is so damn clingy, but giyuu is just as clingy so it doesn’t really bother him.

Giyuu giggles softly, “I would like that,”

They continue to cuddle each other on their bed in domestic bliss. Kissing and hugging, phones ignored. Tv used as background noise while they watched TikToks, and ate snacks Sanemi grabbed on the way home.

People who know Giyuu and Sanemi would never guess they were like this in bed but Sanemi and Giyuu were never big on PDA anyways.

The next day, after Giyuu goes on his morning run and Sanemi is back from the Gym. He starts packing his stuff. Underclothes, shirts, pajamas, and his passport.

Giyuu is bent over the bed thinking about whether he should take warmer clothes or not; he forgot that having you backside out in this house is a death sentence.

Without warning, a stinging pain to his ass and a lop THWAP rings in the area. He jumps, yelping and turns around holding his stinging backside in his hands, glaring at the grinning culprit.

 “Nice ass,”

“Asshole,”

Sanemi looked at his suitcase, “Why do you have warm clothing? It's gonna be like 21 degreese celcius in California.

“Oh well in that case I don’t need these,” he muttered.

He throws them to the side to be put away later.

Flying all the way to America in matching pajamas sets and driving to the hotel they are staying at. They are finally in California to watch the half time show. Giyuu is ready to fall asleep.

“Don’t fall asleep yet Giyuu,” giyuu whines from the bed sitting up.

“Hey you know I’m betting on the Seahawks by the way,”

“Oh yeah, And what makes you think you’re going to win?” Sanemi chided.

“I have great intuition,” Giyuu said.

“More like great in-fiction thinking,”

“Okay who ever team win have to do a silly dance while wearing a tutu during their season,”

“Deal, now just stay there,”

Sanemi goes outside the hotel room for a moment. Giyuu can’t see what he is grabbing but it looks like—.

Oh my gosh.

It was a full, big, and wide sushi platter in one hand with California rolls, uramaki, spring rolls, egg rolls and to top it all off grilled salmon in the middle of the platter. All kinds of dips that Giyuu couldn’t even name. Oh my—this is everything Giyuu could ever ask for. He could start drooling right now,

“Your eyes are lighting up like saucers right now, fatty ratty, but Happy Birthday Yuu,” he purred. Sanemi set down the platter in front of him on the bed and took a napkin and shoved it in his shirt. Not like it is going to help with anything with how Giyuu eats.

Giyuu was speechless. He just stared at Sanemi trying not to not start bawling.

“I know your birthday is tomorrow but I couldn’t just give you the Super Bowl as your gift. I also had to get you something that I sometimes think you love more than me, food,”

“Sanemi—Thank you,” Giyuu choked up, tears forming in his eyes,”

Sanemi blushed and looked sappish at him, “I swear you get emotional at the weirdest things,” Sanemi chided. He walked up to him and smooths his face of the tears;  he went back away from the bed when Giyuu pulled him down by the shirt and crushed their lips together in a loving grace.

The kiss lasted too short in Giyuu’s opinion before Sanemi leapt away from him. He was looking down at him with those sapphires he loves so much. The scars running down his face; only Sanemi could pull them off.

Giyuu was so occupied by looking at Sanemi face he didn’t see Sanemi grabbing a sushi roll with chopsticks and bringing to his mouth,

 “Open up sweetheart,” he purred.

Oh, Giyuu would do anything Sanemi says when he talks in that tone.

He takes the food from the chopsticks and then proceeds to get fed like a child. For the first time in his life he doesn’t mind, Giyuu for the past few years has been getting used to being spoiled and will not admit he enjoys it. It’s not like he doesn’t spoil Sanemi too, he literally got Sanemi a MacBook for his college work, but it’s the thought Sanemi puts into it that has Giyuu swooning all over again.

He picks a pair of chopsticks then a California roll and puts it near Sanemi mouth. He rolls his eyes but accepts the food. From then on the 2 men take turns feeding each other like 2 puppy loved teenagers.

It’s corny but they don’t care. No one can see them afterall.

They are at the stadium now, it was a long walk from the parking lot all the way to their seats. It made Giyuu’s feet hurt like he’s not on his feet all day during the season. It’s like his body becomes more sensitive when Sanemi is around.

The half time show was phenomenal. To see the Spanish singer Bad Bunny and all the dancers' choreography come together was miraculous.

Sanemi was complaining about the windy weather but Giyuu could tell he was enjoying it too. Except for the part where in his words, “the patriots acting as slow as the people who came to America,” when the patriots were slacking.

Giyuu was counting down the clock for the game, he silently was going over every overthrow, every flag called on the Seahawks. It was a thrilling , stressful experience.

The crowds roared or booed when a touchdown was made. The flying American flags, the cheap hotdogs from the concession stand. It was loud but fun, and overwhelming in a way.

Giyuu quite literally flinched when the Seahawks stole the win by 29-13. Everyone knew it was gonna happen with the Patriots being down by 16 but Sanemi was adamant that somehow they were gonna come back. His determination was contagious; Giyuu almost believed it.

But alas, the definite conclusion of the game was here. The Seahawks won and by circumstance Giyuu won. All Giyuu had to do was look at Sanemi with a slightly raised eyebrow and say nothing.

Sanemi huffed, “Alright, I’ll do it,”

Hah, Best Birthday ever.
