When it came to Hebra, it was not only extremely cold to the point you’d feel like you’d freeze, even if you did get the warmest gear imaginable to counteract the intense cold.
Yet, visiting Hebra, specifically Rito Village, was only for one particular person, Revali. While he may have been stubborn, he did quite have a soft spot for you. So, when you had asked where he was the other Rito explained he was at the Flight Range. Then they added that he left in quite a sour mood. But to you that meant nothing, Revali was always in a sour mood.
Giving the Rito Tribe thanks for the help, you made your way down Rito’s Village vertically structured place they called home before walking around the pathway toward the Flight Range. Raising your arms to cover your body as it was so entirely cold, Hebra was harsh and it didn’t help that it was nearing night either. Lifting your head you could faintly see the Flight Range up ahead. So you picked up the pace, or at least as much as you could considering you didn’t have any Snow Boots to help you traverse easier.
Hearing the sound of wind blowing and being created you looked around, stepping closer to the range before a sudden arrow was fired at you. Letting out a scream you successfully managed to dodge just in time before you looked up, seeing Revali.
“Oh.” He started, finally realizing who it was by the scream. “I- oh! I apologize, I thought you were somebody else.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as you made your way over to the Rito Champion. “So your first instinct is to shoot?”
He let out a humph, lowering his bow as he looked flustered, “I didn’t expect you, is all.”
“So, you’d thought it wise to shoot me with an arrow—at least you missed.”
“It’s hard to see. It’s getting dark out.” He made an excuse, raising his wing and motioning around.
“Hah.” You crossed your arms, stepping closer to him. “Is that your excuse?” Without giving him a chance to say anything you started your way up toward the ladder that led up into a small structure. Where inside held a cooking pot, arrows and some storage for the Rito’s.
As Revali turned to follow you, in the light of the fire, he noticed something. He stepped closer, moving his wing down to move your arm. To your surprise, he actually had hit you. “Seems my aim is not far off even when I can barely see.” He let your arm go before grabbing out some supplies and helping you to sit down.
In the silence that followed he helped treat your wound as he took a deep breath. “I apologize for firing an arrow at you, I didn’t expect a visitor today. Especially not you.”
“It’s alright Revali. I guess I am better company though?” Wincing slightly at the pain his feather came up to gently soothe the pain.
“Of course you are. I wouldn’t want anyone else to disrupt my training. Although, I do have to wonder…is there any particular reason you’re out here in the first place? There’s talk of monsters in Hebra, the last thing I’d need to hear is you being in danger.”
“The Rito did not inform me of monsters when I had asked for you. If they had, I would’ve stayed in the village and waited for you.” Hearing Revali ‘tch’ in disbelief had you sigh softly, “But, I came out here because I wanted to see you. The last I saw you, you were dubbed champion. It’s been a couple months, and finally I had the opportunity to see you again.”
“Someone missed me then, is that it?” He asked, his feathers gently tying the small bandages around your side. “There, it should heal quite well. If you don’t go to Mipha that is.” He gently moved, sitting a bit closer to you.
“I did miss you, Revali.” You looked at him, a small smile on your features. “And thank you for helping patch up the wound you caused.”
His head snapped to look at you, eyebrows furrowing until he huffed at the clear tease in your voice. “You’re welcome…”
Laughing softly, you looked back out to the Flight Range, soon taking a deep breath. “So how’s training going?”
Revali hummed, “Getting better, I still don’t feel strong enough. I still have a lot more to go.” He looked down at you, his left wing slowly moving to wrap around you.
Having felt this—you allowed yourself to lean against him. This was quite normal, but in fact rare. Revali would show his soft side in regards to you, and allow yourself to lean against him. If every excuse he made wasn’t so that you didn’t freeze to death under his watch. Despite his sass—he always did it.
“I wish you good luck in the rest of your training, Revali. I’ll be interested in seeing how you fare the next time I come out here. Hopefully I won’t get an arrow fired at my side the next time.”
Revali smirked, laughing quietly. “I appreciate it. But, will you stay a couple more days at least? Or do you have other duties to attend to?”
A sigh, before you shifted closer to him. “I think if I chalk it up to the King about helping you with training then I should be fine.” You shrugged, “Not like he has any control over me. I can very well do what I please.” Lifting your head, your eyes met his. “Although, I hope that you’d keep me warmer while I’m here.”
“Like I’d let you freeze.”
