Work Text:

It had been exactly two months since the strongest sorcerer alive, Gojo Satoru was killed by Sukuna, and Shoko was packing her last boxes before moving out of the apartment she had for over six years. Before Gojo's death he asked Shoko to take care of megumi if anything went wrong during his battle with Sukuna. Shoko obviously accepted Gojo's last wish before parting away. And now, she was packing her things because now she was going to move into a house Gojo bought megumi without him knowing, now Shoko will have to take care of his best friend's adoptive son.

“These are the last boxes Shoko, you sure you don't need anymore help?” Utahime asked while carrying two big boxes of shoko's clothes and kitchen utensils.

“i'm fine Hime, you don't have to worry anymore, I'm just going to finish cleaning up my closet, I sure do have a lot of clothing!” she said jokingly while heading to her room.

“FINE, but if you need any help you can just call me!, im going to load these boxes into your car” said utahime.

Shoko chuckled.

“IM SERIOUS SHOKO!

“I know Hime.

Utahime just shrugged and then she left the department. Shoko rapidly went to her bedroom and she opened her Closet. She took a big look at her wardrobe, even though she already packed some of her clothes she still had piles of clothing.
“shit, why do i buy so much clothing?” muffled Shoko to herself while she was getting her last pieces of clothes off her wardrobe.
After some minutes of getting all of her clothes Shoko noticed some boxes at the very corner of her closet, almost as if they were hidden intentionally
Shoko was confused. She got rid of all the clothes that were in her way, it was a lot. She grabbed the box, it was huge, old and super heavy. She took a big breath and then she picked up the package.

Holy jujutsu, it was heavy as fuck!

She took the box to her bed. Shoko noticed that it was sealed with tape,
“Why does it have tape?” she asked herself while grabbing a cutter to open the box. She placed her hands on top of the box, and with the cutter slowly began to open it. There was a lot of dust and the box was very old, so it was difficult not to damage the package. When she finally opened the box Shoko was shocked.
It was filled with old photos of her jujutsu high school years. Shoko felt her eyes watery. She knew for a fact that she didn't put that box in her closet. It was Gojo who had put it there. Shoko lingered the belongings that were inside of the box. Old photos of her, Suguru and Satoru were inside.

Hundreds of those photos.

A photo of the time they had their first sleepover because of a mission, they were wearing matching t-shirts, a photo of the three of them with haibara and nanami. a photo of haibara with a wig, a photo of them at Gojo's apartment with nanami, a photo of the three together at a restaurant after a mission. Everything was there. The photos looked really old. Shoko lingered one of the pictures of the three of them, it was exactly the day they played baseball with principal Yaga and she took it out. Because it was really old the photo looked somehow transparent. At that moment Shoko realised there was a writing behind that picture, She fippled it and she read

WE LOVE YOU SHOKO - suguru and the amazing and strongest Gojo Satoru

Tears poured down Shoko 's face. After all those years of acting strong the grief finally hitted her, like a bucket of water and ice was thrown at her without due notice. She hugged the photo so hard as she could. She was crying, sobbing so horrible that Gojo and Geto would laugh at her if they were alive, but they weren't, they were dead. Her two best friends were dead, and she was alive, grieving their death. Shoko felt her soul getting crushed and her voice raspier because of the hard cries.
For many years Shoko tried to cancel out her grief, but it finally catched her.

She cleaned up her tears a little bit to continue searching at the box. There were more memories. And in each memory there was something written behind it.

Yaga is going to be so mad at us! - The strongest
Thank you for inviting us Shoko sempai :D - Haibara and nanami
satoru looks really stupid in that photo LOL -Suguru
Look at the three of us! we look super amazing - The strongest

Each text was more hurtful than the last one. After getting all the photos out Shoko realised that all of their matching T-shirts and bracelets were there, even Gojos and Getos. She took them out, she smelled the pieces of clothing, and the tears poured once again.Somehow after all those years the shirts still smelled like them, as if they were just used. She left the shirts aside to keep looking into the box. There were no more memories, no more bracelets and no more T-shirts, but there was something else there. Four envelopes, with a name written in each one of them.
Shoko realised that those envelopes were from her friends. And Shoko remembered. It was a day before her birthday. And she overheard Gojo and the others talk in an empty classroom about what they were going to give her because of her birthday. Geto had suggested to all of them to write a letter to Shoko, they all agreed.
On the day of Shoko's birthday they all give Shoko the letters. But Shoko never opened or read them because she forgot, and at that moment she wanted to enjoy every last second of her birthday party with her friends.
And now after all those years she could finally read them.

Shoko's eyes were red because of the tears, her voice was cracky and her touch was shaky, as she grabbed the letters all those memories of her and her best friends together hit her. Every laugh, every smile, every tear, every joke, everything was coming back to her.

“You idiots, please come back to me” she said to the air as her voice was cracking more because of the pain she couldn't bear anymore. The grief was eating her alive, and she knew it.
She hugged the envelopes as hard as she could, and wished her friends appeared in front of her and hugged her.
But she knew they were never coming back and she still wished for them to come back.
She missed them so much that it made her sick.
Shoko wanted her friends back, her family back.
Stupid gojo was right, there was no curse more twisted than love.
