Work Text:
The first thing Henrietta notices when she makes it back to her room is flowers on her counter. Flowers that definitely weren't there when she left that morning.
She sighs, walking over to pick them up. They're New England Asters. Purple ones. Claire must've been by while she was gone.
Despite all the time they've been spending together recently, Henrietta still hasn't a clue how Claire keeps getting into her room. Her landlord certainly hasn't been letting the blonde in. Still, Henrietta knows better than to ask questions. Claire's business is her own. And, besides, its not like she doesn't want Claire coming.
She brings the flowers to her face, smelling them. There's a faint.. maybe minty scent to them, she can't exactly place it. It isn't a very pleasant scent, to be quite frank. Though the smell isn't the point, of course.
It isn't the first time Claire's brought her flowers, though most of the time they've certainly been more expensive ones. It's quite nice to have some wild flowers for a change. She knows Claire isn't lacking in money, so for her to go out of her way to pick some for Henrietta instead? That certainly tells much more than any store-bought flowers could.
Henrietta can't stop smiling as she finds a cup to put them in. She can't wait for the next time Claire comes by.
