Work Text:

Rain and Sky sat across from each other at their usual corner table in the café, half-empty cups of coffee in front of them.

“Sky, help me,” Rain said, his voice low but urgent.

Sky raised an eyebrow, leaning back in his chair. “Now what happened? Did you again run away from Phayu?”

“No! I didn’t. He’s on a business trip.”

Sky smirked knowingly. “Then what?”

Rain leaned in, glancing around to make sure no one was listening. “As you know… Valentine’s Day is coming, right?”

Sky tilted his head. “Yeah?”

“Phayu’s away on his business trip, and I… I want to surprise him on Valentine’s Day.”

“Ohh… so you want me to help you?”

“Yeah…” Rain’s voice wavered a little, shy but determined.

Sky tapped his chin, pretending to think. “Hmm… let me think… I have an idea. Listen—”

“What is it?”

“Listen—”

Rain tapped his phone nervously, swiping to answer the video call. Phayu’s face appeared on the screen, bright and smiling, and Rain couldn’t help the flutter in his chest.

“Will you come tomorrow, Phi?” he asked softly.

Phayu nodded. “Hmm… everything is finished here. I’ll see if there’s anything left, but if there isn’t, I’ll take the earliest flight and come for you.”

Rain’s eyes sparkled. “That will be great, Phi… I miss you so much.”

Phayu’s lips curved teasingly. “Do you?”

“Yes, Phi…” Rain admitted, a soft blush rising across his cheeks.

Phayu laughed, shaking his head fondly. “Alright, go to sleep. I’ll keep an eye on things here.”

“Okay, Phi… good night.”

“Good night, Rain.”

The call ended, and Rain stared at the blank screen for a moment, heart fluttering. Phi’s going to be so happy tomorrow… 🤭

---

The apartment was quiet, the soft morning light spilling through the curtains. Rain moved around, completely absorbed in his task, unaware of someone quietly entering behind him.

Before he could notice, strong arms wrapped around him from behind, and a familiar warmth pressed against his back.

“Who—” Rain began, startled, then froze as he realized who it was.

“Phi… you scared me!” he exclaimed, turning slightly.

Phayu stepped closer, holding a bouquet of fresh, fragrant flowers. “Are these… for me?”

Rain’s chest tightened, and his lips curved into a soft, tender smile. “Yes… they’re for my wife.”

Phayu chuckled, his eyes sparkling with affection. “Thank you, Phi.”

Without another word, Rain spun around, pulling Phayu into a tight embrace. The world outside faded; it was just the two of them, heartbeats mingling, the air thick with quiet relief and happiness.

“I missed you so much, Phi,” Rain murmured into his shoulder, his voice shaking slightly.

“I missed you too,” Phayu whispered back, tilting his head up to capture Rain’s lips in a sweet, lingering kiss.

The bouquet slipped from Phayu’s hands, forgotten for the moment, as they held each other close—two souls finally home, wrapped in love, warmth, and the gentle, unspoken joy of being together again.

---

“Phi, you take a rest till then. I’ll cook breakfast for you,” Rain said softly, brushing a strand of hair from Phayu’s face.

“Ok, wifey… I’ll rest,” Phayu replied with a small smile, letting himself sink into the couch.

“Phi…” Rain whined playfully.

“Ok, ok, I’m going,” Phayu laughed, standing. “And… by the way, Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Rain’s eyes sparkled. “Happy Valentine’s Day to you too.”

Before leaving the room, Phayu leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Rain’s forehead, a quiet gesture full of love.

---

After a little while, Rain called out cheerfully, “Phi! Come na, breakfast is ready!”

Phayu walked into the kitchen, eyes widening in surprise at the spread before him. Plates filled with Tom Luad Moo and Khao Kai Jeow were neatly arranged, and a golden pancake sat on a small plate just for him.

“Rain… I thought you didn’t like spicy,” Phayu said, raising an eyebrow, a smile tugging at his lips.

“I don’t, Phi,” Rain admitted with a small shrug, “but you do. That’s why I cooked them for you.”

Phayu blinked. “But… then what will you eat?”

Rain grinned, gesturing to the pancake. “Don’t worry, I have mine. Here—I made a pancake for you too, Phi. Today’s Valentine’s, so I thought I’d do something for you.”

Phayu’s heart swelled, the warmth of Rain’s thoughtfulness sinking deep into him. “You… really thought of everything, didn’t you?”

Rain just smiled, brushing a loose strand of hair from Phayu’s face again. “Of course… I wanted today to be special for you.”

Phayu leaned in, pressing a quick, grateful kiss to Rain’s lips. “It already is.”

After breakfast, Rain appeared in the living room with a sly grin.

“Phi… get ready. Clothes are in your room. And no arguing—you have to wear them,” he said, trying to sound commanding but failing to hide the bratty smirk on his face.

Phayu arched an eyebrow, leaning casually against the doorframe. “Oh really? And why would I do that?” he teased, letting his voice drip with mischief.

Rain huffed, pouting slightly. “Because I said so! And I’ll be waiting, don’t make me come drag you!”

Phayu chuckled, stepping closer. “Hmm… I wonder… what’s the plan, hmm? Movie and lunch date?”

Rain’s grin faltered just a little. “Yes… that’s the plan.”

Phayu shook his head, a teasing glint in his eyes. “Mm, you’re lucky I like you today. Alright, alright… I’ll go get ready. Don’t take too long, brat.”

Rain’s ears turned pink, but he couldn’t help but whine softly, “Phi… you’re mean!”

Phayu just laughed, brushing past him. “Mean? Nah… I’m just… keeping you in line, that’s all. Don’t forget it.”

Rain stomped his foot softly but followed anyway, muttering under his breath, “I hate you… but I love you too…”

___

Phayu stepped out of the bedroom, wearing a coffee-colored shirt with the top two buttons casually undone, paired with sleek grey pants. Rain followed behind, a crisp white t-shirt and blue pants making him look effortlessly cute.

“Phi, today we’re going in the car, and I’ll be driving,” Rain said, bouncing slightly on his heels.

Phayu raised one brow, leaning against the doorframe. “Oh? And why’s that?”

Rain grinned, hiding a little blush. “Because it’s a surprise… you won’t know where we’re going.”

“Hmm… let’s see,” Phayu said teasingly, his smirk widening.

“Let’s go, Phi,” Rain said, grabbing his hand.

“I am,” Phayu replied, eyes sparkling as they walked to the car.

---

When they reached the movie theater, Phayu’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“You… brought me back here?” he breathed, taking in the familiar place of their very first date.

Rain’s ears flushed pink, and he gave him a small, shy smile—the “bunny smile” Phayu always teased him about. “Yes… I planned everything.”

Phayu chuckled, shaking his head. “You really did plan everything, huh?”

Rain nodded, tugging him gently toward the entrance. “Come on, Phi… wait here, I’ll buy the tickets.”

Moments later, tickets in hand, they slipped into the movie room together.

When the lights dimmed and the screen flickered to life, Phayu immediately noticed the title: a horror movie.

“Rain… it’s a horror movie,” he whispered.

“I know,” Rain replied, pouting cutely.

“You’re scared of these, aren’t you?” Phayu teased, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

“Who said that?” Rain shot back, crossing his arms but failing to hide his blush. “I… actually love them.”

“Do you?” Phayu leaned closer, watching Rain pout.

“Yeah… I do,” Rain admitted softly, lips forming a perfect little pout.

Phayu couldn’t resist. He leaned in and gave Rain a quick, teasing peck on the lips.

“Let’s see how long you’ll last,” he murmured against Rain’s ear, smirking as Rain squeaked and clutched his arm.

---

---

The movie started, and the eerie music filled the theater. Rain’s eyes immediately widened, and he flinched at the first jump scare, clutching Phayu’s arm like a lifeline.

Phayu glanced down at him, a teasing smirk playing on his lips. “Hmm… seems like someone’s not as brave as they said.”

“I’m fine, Phi!” Rain protested, though his voice wobbled, and his grip on Phayu tightened.

Phayu leaned closer, whispering just loud enough for him to hear. “Sure you are… but let’s see how long that lasts.”

Rain pouted, burying his face into Phayu’s shoulder for the next scare. Phayu couldn’t help but chuckle, occasionally pecking the top of Rain’s head to make him squeak.

By the time the movie ended, Rain was flushed, breathless from both the frights and Phayu’s teasing touches.

“See? That wasn’t so bad,” Phayu said, offering his arm as they walked out. “You survived.”

“I survived… thanks to you,” Rain muttered, leaning against him slightly. “But next time… horror movies are evil.”

Phayu laughed, ruffling his hair gently. “Noted. But admit it—you liked it… even a little?”

Rain groaned, hiding his face in Phayu’s chest. “Maybe… a tiny bit…”

---

Outside, the sun was shining, and Phayu opened the car door for Rain, who climbed in with a sly grin.

“Ready for our lunch date?” Phayu asked, sliding into the driver’s seat.

“Yes, Phi… but I get to pick the first bite,” Rain said mischievously, wiggling in his seat.

“You’ll regret that,” Phayu teased, starting the car with a smirk. “But fine… let’s go.”

The afternoon passed with playful teasing, hand-holding, and lots of laughter. At the restaurant, Rain insisted on sitting close, sneaking bites of Phayu’s food while Phayu pretended to glare, only to give in with a small laugh.

“Today’s been… perfect,” Rain murmured, leaning against Phayu’s shoulder between bites.

Phayu’s hand found Rain’s, fingers intertwining. “Perfect… because you’re here. Always.”

Rain looked up, eyes sparkling, and gave him a soft, grateful smile. “I love you, Phi.”

“I love you too… brat,” Phayu replied, squeezing his hand gently.

After lunch, they pushed back their chairs and the waiter came with the bill.

“Phi… I’ll pay,” Rain said quickly, trying to sound firm.

Phayu raised an eyebrow, smirking. “Oh? And why’s that? You think I’m just going to let you pay after all the planning?”

Rain crossed his arms, pouting. “Because… it was my plan! I should get this, don’t you think?”

Phayu chuckled, leaning closer, voice low and teasing. “Hmm… maybe… but I think someone’s just trying to impress me.”

Rain huffed, “I am trying to impress you! Please… just let me do this one thing.”

Phayu’s smirk softened, but he still shook his head. “Fine… fine, brat. You win. Pay, then. But only because I let you.”

Rain beamed triumphantly, pulling out his card. “Yes! Victory is mine, Phi!”

---

Back in the car, Phayu adjusted his tie and glanced at Rain. “Let’s get back home now… it’s time for me to surprise you.”

Rain blinked, surprised. “Really, Phi? You have a surprise for me?”

Phayu leaned closer, teasing. “If you can’t guess, then yes. Can’t I?”

Rain whined softly, trying to look innocent. “You’re mean, Phi…”

By the time they reached home, the sky was painted in shades of orange and purple, the evening settling in.

“Rain… change your clothes,” Phayu said, gesturing toward the wardrobe. “Wear something formal.”

Rain’s eyes widened. “Formal… huh? Okay…”

They both got ready. Phayu’s suit was sharp and dominant, perfectly tailored to his commanding presence, while Rain’s white suit made him look impossibly cute, the kind of cute that made Phayu’s chest tighten.

“Phi… where are we going?” Rain asked nervously, fidgeting with his cuff.

Phayu smirked. “Did I tell you when I was taking us?”

Rain pouted, a little bratty. “Nooo…”

Phayu just shook his head with a chuckle. “Sit tight, brat.”

---

They drove in silence for a few minutes until they arrived at a fancy restaurant, its warm lights sparkling against the evening sky.

“Phi… you took me to where… where all your mates go for a while? Thank you!” Rain hugged him tightly in the car.

Phayu grinned, brushing Rain’s hair from his face. “I know… now let’s go inside.”

At the reception, Phayu asked for the seat he had reserved. They were led to a cozy, romantic corner, the kind of spot made for quiet whispers and shared smiles.

Once seated, Phayu leaned back, eyes twinkling. “Order whatever you want, Rain.”

“Really, Phi?” Rain’s voice wavered with surprise and delight.

“Really,” Phayu replied, smirking.

---

They ate while their conversation flowed effortlessly, laughter and teasing filling the air. Phayu, of course, couldn’t resist teasing Rain relentlessly.

“You know… Rain, you look way too cute in that suit,” Phayu murmured, brushing his fingers lightly against Rain’s hand.

Rain’s ears turned red instantly. “Phi… stop it… I… I can’t…”

“Oh, come on… you know I can’t let you look that adorable without commenting,” Phayu said, leaning closer, eyes sparkling with mischief. “I mean, look at you… my little bunny in a suit. Can’t get over it.”

Rain buried his face in his hands, muttering, “Phi… you’re… cruel…”

Phayu chuckled, tracing a finger along Rain’s jawline. “Cruel? Or just honest? You’re driving me crazy, you know that?”

Rain peeked up through his fingers, eyes wide. “Phi… I… I…”

“You what, brat?” Phayu teased, leaning closer.

“I… I love you,” Rain whispered, cheeks flaming bright red.

Phayu’s grin softened, and he leaned forward to kiss Rain gently. “I love you too… my bratty little bunny.”

---

“Let’s get back home,” Phayu said softly.

Rain nodded, already leaning closer, excitement bubbling inside him.

---

Once home, they changed into something comfortable and settled on the couch, a romantic movie playing softly in the background. Rain tried to focus on the screen, but his fingers kept fidgeting, his eyes darting toward Phayu again and again.

Suddenly, Rain stood up.

“Phi… I have a gift for you.”

Phayu looked up, surprised—and amused. “Really? What is it?”

“Wait here. I’ll get it,” Rain said quickly before running off, almost tripping in his hurry.

Phayu chuckled to himself, watching Rain disappear. He planned so much today… all for me.

Rain returned a moment later, holding a neatly wrapped box. He placed it carefully into Phayu’s hands, eyes shining with nervous excitement.

Phayu opened it slowly.

Inside were racing gloves—high quality, perfectly his style. Beneath them were small cards with handwritten notes:

“To make me say yes when I don’t listen to you.”

Then handmade chocolates, slightly uneven but clearly made with love.

Phayu swallowed, his chest tightening.

“These are… for me, huh?” he asked quietly, eyes lingering on each detail. He remembered what I love. He even made these himself…

“Yes, Phi,” Rain said softly.

Phayu reached for the Valentine card, about to open it, when Rain suddenly panicked.

“Phi—read it later na… please?”

Phayu smiled knowingly. “Hmm… okay.”

He set everything aside carefully… then reached behind him and pulled out a small jewellery box.

Rain’s eyes widened instantly.

“You thought I wouldn’t have a gift for you?” Phayu teased.

He opened the box.

Inside was a delicate necklace, the pendant engraved with “Phayu’s brat.”

Rain froze, face heating up instantly. “Phi… it’s for me?” he whispered.

“Yes,” Phayu said, standing and stepping closer. “It’s for my brat.”

He gently moved behind Rain and clasped the necklace around his neck, fingers brushing warm skin. Rain shivered at the touch.

Rain looked down at it, then up at Phayu, eyes soft. “Thank you, Phi…”

Phayu tilted Rain’s chin up slightly. “Should I not get a reward for this, huh?”

Rain met his gaze, cheeks burning, heart racing—and leaned in, kissing Phayu slowly, sweet at first, then deeper, more confident.

Phayu responded immediately, arms tightening around Rain as the kiss turned heated, unhurried, full of everything they’d been holding back all day.

The movie kept playing, forgotten.

Phayu guided Rain closer, murmuring against his lips, “Happy Valentine’s Day… my brat.”

Rain smiled breathlessly. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Phi…”

That night, the lights stayed dim, the world stayed quiet, and they stayed tangled together—kisses, whispers, and love filling every moment.

They didn’t sleep.

Not even once.
