Work Text:
From all the noise Noob had heard, it had been a bloody round.
The killer was Sixe- Guest 666. And they knew she didn’t play easy. He hunted his prey, and tore them apart without any remorse. It was a far cry from who Noob once knew. Then again- many of the killers had been familiar with at least someone. It’s only fair that eventually Noob would come to face Guest 666 once again. Their dear friend that they had abandoned…
They had left her at her worst. What were they thinking? Sure, they really, really, should’ve said something sooner about the scripts, but- but maybe, maybe if they stayed, maybe they could’ve fixed it, together. Then his face wouldn’t be lingering at the back of their mind…
The feeling of their heart quickening snapped them out of their reminiscing. That only meant one thing- Noob was the only one left. And that meant Guest 666 was approaching. Fast. The rapid footsteps approaching only confirmed that. Noob quickly dug into a GhostBurger, hoping maybe that could buy them some time.
The eager snarl and leap from Guest 666 confirmed that was not the case, and Noob was quickly pinned down, semi-transparent flesh being torn into. Guest 666 roared eagerly and Noob quickly got to their feet, making a run for it. Guest 666 eagerly gave chase, their growls sounding excited for more bloodshed. Noob already felt dizzy from the blood loss, which is particularly not advised when you’re running for your life.
They flinched harshly at a loud roar from Guest 666, and then a slash to the back made them cry out. Crap, crap, this was a disaster! They frantically grabbed their Slateskin Potion, but their bloody hands were clumsy, slippery, and they watched with dread as it fell from their hands to the ground. There went any possible chance of surviving this.
With another leap from Guest 666, Noob was pinned to the ground again, rolled onto their back to look up at them. Looking up at their grinning face, the blood loss making Noob not think straight, they cried.
“SIXER WAIT!”
That actually made Guest 666 pause. Noob gulped, There was no way negotiation of all things would work, right? It wasn’t like 007n7 ever had any luck with his own son…
Well, they were dead either way. It was worth a shot.
“Sixer, I- I know- you deserve to be angry at me. You should be angry. I left you at your worst! And- and Sixer, I’m sorry! I messed up, I messed up so badly that day, and no matter how much time passed you were always still there in the back of my mind, smiling. A-and for what it’s worth, Sixer… I still love you. And I wish we could be together again, a-and that I could just… help you through everything this time.”
Noob really didn’t know what they were saying. It wasn’t like they and Guest 666 were ever partners- just best friends. They were just saying whatever came to mind. And they meant it all- as much as they should be scared, afraid of what their friend has become, they still can’t help but feel that yearning. That same yearning that made them follow that voice in the haunted mansion.
The same yearning that made them cry for her, when their cries meant nothing in the end.
Noob closed their eyes, clinging onto the memories of what came before rather than the monster that was currently above them. Time passed. Nothing. And then- Noob was pulled into the tightest hug of their life. Guest 666- Sixer- was purring like a plane engine, tears falling from their eyes as they clung to Noob, rubbing his chin against their head. Noob was frozen, then hugged Sixer back.
“Sixer- you’re back! I promise- I promise we’ll stay together this time!” They buried their face into the fur, and nearly sobbed when the feeling stayed in the familiar warmth of the cabin.
The Survivors won.
Noob and Guest 666
