Work Text:

Two Time laid on a bed of their purple kin, the brittle stamens poked their back and the petals blended with their’s. All of them were nightshade, for that's what they were and always would be, a rotting plant, roots ingrown and sickly, not quite pretty enough to be a blossoming deadly flower, but not quite human enough to be called normal, even freaks thought they were a freak for the images and voices that kept them company on starry mournful nights such as this. Their arms were above their head lazily as they felt their siblings comfort them, each whispering words of praise or menace, any words at all brought them solace now as they missed the contact of skin, their own had become brittle and woody, like that of their brethren nestled deep in the dirt beneath them, at least they would have the chance to die with their honor intact, knowing someone thought of them as their consciousness slowly forgot who they were, as to the effect of the merciful poison.

At least the Spawn had gone silent, it’s holy light faded away by the whispering darkness of their kin, purple petals on purple, any other color faded into and devoured by the devote and blissful shade that they had seen all varieties of, even purples unseen by the human eye, but they weren’t human, were they?

Rot infested their skin mirthfully, it thrilled at the fresh carcass of Two Time’s crisp guilt, still sagging with the weight of a face they had wiped from their mind, blacked out with stinking ink that sent their mind spinning as well. They wished to scream, but their lungs were merely a single bloom and roosts that choked their organs. Their breathing felt like through a small tube with every inhalation came the bittersweet taste of the deathly blossoms, teasing them with the eternal rest they just wished would grace them, the Spawn could take back its life, they no longer wanted it, a life without him was no life at all, just like how a life without one’s five senses was just existing, no touch for a feel of the silky gentle world, not sight to see its extensive beauty, nor smell to take in the sweet calming senses, no sound for soft music through one’s ears and soft voices to sing, no taste to eat the mouth-watering ichors of life, of his cooking, of his breath.

Such memories seemed so far away that they twinkled on every light of the stars, one could see them from afar and sense it’s beauty from many many miles away, but one could not truly experience a star to see it up close in a brilliant gassy form, but such balls of fire could burn, and Two Time did not wish for their wings to melt just to remember the sweet senses of life. He would risk it all they know, but did they know really, or did they fly too close to the sun again?

Oh, hark their god. Take away this barbaric life in which was ruefully taken from an innocent angel cast from the heavens. His heart was a worthy sacrifice indeed, but worthy was not always right, one’s cup can be full, but the true fool would drink a full glass despite its contents. Two Time was the true fool. Poison came down their greedy gullet and resided in their stomach, feeding to the bittersweet truth which grew larger in their chest. The moon laughed at them now for their foolishness, they wished to laugh with its gleeful face, but their breath was not enough to chortle along.

The nightshade that ripped from Two Time’s raw flesh out from their chest then bloomed bright and mocking, the deep violet petals brought an eerie ease of rest to their mind, but it also brought excruciating pain with it, and a tear welled up in their eye, the only remaining eye from the hole that dug in their right part of their face from where a bloom decided to blossom and grow, attempting to crawl and skitter towards the moon for a better host than them, it cried to be seen, be loved, and they cried for it.

A wave of bleariness struck them hard once more, and the plant hugged them tighter with resent, they didn’t tense up though, they deserved his wrath that clung to them like an angry ghost in search of a haunting. The vines hugged to Two Time tightly as well, their muscles surrendered sorely with their throat and stomach as the woody tentacle squeezed them, inside and outside it strangled furiously, oh how they deserved this, they would’ e cried with delight if they had any more water to spare to shed those tears. Karma truly did exist, and they were joyful for that as it brought some peace upon them. Deep down they were sure this was nothing compared to his pain though. A broken heart shattered all over the floor and melted then reformed into hate, something evil, but as Two Time’s body returned to the earth, through the ragged sound of their struggling breath, one loud clear thought screamed like a sob desperately as their last breath escaped their lips.

*Don’t wake me, please*

Notes:

This was actually so fun to write though, I've been reading more classic literature lately such as Edgar Allen Poe and Shakespeare and I've seen improvements in my writing even if it is shitpost ^w^ Just a pro-tip to other writers if you have writers block, I know it's hard, but any classic literature does wonders for your description and imagination, (Shit that was cheesy)

Oh! Also if you get the Greek myth, I know that is a popular figure of speech, but I thought of how Icarus flew to close to the sun not only for ambition, but in some renditions of the myth, it was because he was in love and entranced with the sun (Helios in this case) and that eventually was his death, Two Time fears this will happen to them too if they do not tread wearily of what they remember (srry for the yap i was worried no one would get it and i rlly wanted to talk about it😔, make sure to say something in the comments and point out stuff that could be improved upon or you think is interesting!!! I love talking to you, but I might not respond immediatly since i have to do this from my school computer)
