In those minutes after Luke Castellan died and before the war was over, the streets of New York were in chaos.
As the demigods who were previously under the control of Kronos became aware of their surroundings, the forces of Camp Half Blood took advantage of their disorientation and gained the upper hand in the fight, slowly pushing out of the corner Kronos’ army backed them into.
Many of the demigods who were on the titans side fled during those minutes, others dropped to their knees while the ones still standing turned on the monsters who were previously on their side.
The battlefield erupted into a cloud of gold dust as the monsters fell and this time it was Camp Half Blood’s turn to freeze, watching as the same people who were once their enemy turned against their own allies. It didn't take long for Camp Half Blood to help Kronos’ army defeat the monsters but the campers still kept their distance from the army.
Once the monsters were all disposed of, the army turned to the campers and started to attempt to convince them that they were on their side, that they didn't want to fight anymore. Some campers were swayed by their claims but most were still wary of the army. Those who believed the army were quick to find their loved ones but those who were still unsure started to back the army into the same corner they were once in.
It wasn't until Percy Jackson came out of the empire state building, grim-faced that the campers truly believed that the war was over
