It was late at night, the challenge earlier had been exhausting. Especially for everyone who wore warmer clothes or just a lot of clothes. They had to take a quick soak to wash off their sweat before getting dinner ready for the teams.
Some just wanted to bathe anyway so they were glad it was a volcano challenge. Benji was still sad he couldn't get the little him plushie to send to his partner though. He had been whining a bit before having to be shoved to one of the bathing areas by Spencer. He stopped when he had to eat after and then he just passed out.
At the Favorites camp, in the cabin, only one person stayed awake still. It was Bruno, he was excitedly about being on that team still and it was hard to sleep. But he also missed a lot of his old team. He wondered how they were doing. Like Manu for example. He hoped Manu didn't get voted out. Then again, Manu was strong so they wouldn't.
Bruno laid on his back now as he wondered. He bit his lip, then figured it had to be Evie. Or maybe Ernesto that went. He thought of Ren when he thought of that and had a pang go through his chest. Now he thought about that. Ren was so very pretty. Not to mention really nice and kind. Bruno couldn't help but feel like he must have a crush on the pretty genderfluid jester.
As Bruno’s mind wondered while he lay in bed, Ren had walked away from his own team's camp. Aiden was arguing with Finn again about the shelter. Along with Ara groaning every so often when Aiden was asking to put more straw on the roof of the shelter before bed at least. Ren hated being around the arguments. He was also thinking about the elimination. He missed Ernesto. Ernesto had basically become like his grandfather figure. Ren flopped against a tree for a moment. He just wished Ernesto could have gotten that tarot reading before he left at least. He sighed again, then thought for a moment. He was still very sad no matter how much she tried to get over it.
She needed comfort, like major comfort. Not many there at camp were good at that. Dunia was, but she was busy with Nura at the moment. They had been talking and fell asleep after getting Aiden to shut up by helping with the roof of the shelter. He seemed to like those two since they had helped, Ren only left afterwards. Ren thought for a moment and his mind wandered to Bruno. Bruno was good at comfort and cheer. It was cute in all honesty. Ren liked it, it was very adorable and Ren had always secretly wanted to just hug him.
Ren blushed slightly at the thought now. Then she grinned at another thought. She continued down the trail, somehow knowing just the direction she had to go to find the Favorites camp. She knew what she needed to do for that comfort she so desperately needed. A good cuddle. Bruno liked cuddling, or well… he looked like he liked cuddles. Ren wasn't going to do anything that he'd be uncomfortable with at least. She liked him a lot and knew Bruno had liked making friends with the team before getting swapped. They kind of missed him, despite the fact they didn't really talk much, if at all. They liked his rosy cheeks too. Those reddish cheeks made his big brown eyes pop.
Ren snuck into the cabin as Bruno blinked over at the door, having seen movement over there. He immediately went wide eyed when his eyes focused and he noticed Ren. It took his brain a moment to make his mouth move but he did manage a whisper when Ren moved over to his bed with a big grin toward Bruno. All it was was a hoarse “wha-” then Ren reached over. Bruno stammered a bit finally, raspy and quiet.
“R- Ren!?” Bruno had whispered, “what are you doing here?” Ren had smiled a bit more and lifted the blanket up and crawled into the bed as Bruno blushed even more. They sighed happily and nuzzled into his chest slightly at first. It was almost too much for Bruno, they were super pretty after all. “I was upset and you were basically the first person I thought of that could comfort me.”
That made Bruno go red faced. He felt Ren immediately nuzzle against him and wrap his arms around Bruno’s body. Bruno was trying to focus on his breathing now. He had his gorgeous crush cuddling against him and holding him and he didn't know what to do anymore. All he could think of was how nice Ren weirdly smelt and how soft and warm the hug was. He was very much flustered and had his heart beating so fast that he figured the pretty person could hear it. It was only obvious that they could after all. It felt loud and their head was right there on his chest.
They loved it though. His heartbeat sounded like… they didn't know. They just loved the heartbeat and how warm Bruno felt. It was wonderful and Bruno was very cute and kind. Ren sighed happily and calmly. They felt better already. Bruno slowly just put his arms around Ren gently and then finally smiled. He was now very happy even if he was nervous about having Ren there.
“Ren…. Why are you here?” “Well… like I said.. I was upset. … Ernesto had been voted out” the duo were whispering as to not wake the others. Bruno had pouted at the sad sound in Ren’s voice. He could tell Ren had bonded with Ernesto. He figured he was like her grandpa figure or something. He nuzzled her hair gently and then rubbed Ren's back. He smiled at that. He could tell Bruno cared.
“Bruno… thanks for not being angry I just crawled into bed with you…” Bruno smiled softly. “I can't be mad at you-” Ren smirked suddenly. “Whhyyy?” He asked, making Bruno blush again. Then he giggled and kissed Bruno’s cheek. Bruno stammered more and pouted. Then Ren gave him a sleepy kiss on the lips before trailing slightly and snuggling into Bruno.
He fell asleep right then. In Bruno's arms. Bruno was smiling, blushing deeply. He nuzzled Ren's hair and decided he didn't care if the others saw Ren snuggled against him in the morning. Soon, he fell asleep while holding Ren close. Nothing could separate her from his arms now.
