Work Text:
Columbina kept her eyes open more often now.
It had been odd at first. Lumine had woken up to Columbina staring at her. It had scared her, admittedly.
She hadn't been used to sharing a bed with her either, back then.
Still, the hiccups were well worth their shared life together now. There was a routine.
Columbina always got up earlier than her. On the nights they stayed in the teapot, she often woke up to the smell of pancakes drenched in lakkaberry syrup. Lumine had taught her the recipe, but Columbina always made her food much sweeter than Lumine preferred. Which she knew—Lumine always found a plate with minimal syrup waiting for her downstairs.
They always sat together, even though Columbina had often already eaten. Lumine told her all about the places she'd visited on her journey, the people she'd met, the food she'd tried.
It brought Lumine a peace she hadn't felt since she had last travelled the cosmos with Aether.
Maybe, just maybe, she had another place to belong.
