Notes:

First Noobsquad fanfic, this wasn't made before, without needing revising, as the original version was before the episode "Our Conflict" and it needs more revising.
Also, Lets just pretend this series of events happen before the episode "Our Conflict" so some details are changed.
AND KEEP IN MIND I'M ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AT MAKING THE CHARACTERS PERSONALITYS MATCH THE SHOW, SO THERE MAY BE MISCHARACTERIZATION. I WONT BE ABLE TO NOTICE IT MYSELF IM SORRYYYYYY

Chapter 1: My Biggest Regret

Chapter Text

(Nooby's POV)
"We need to calm down," Acorn states in front of everyone faces, not looking at any of us, like we did to each other at all.
Of Course we need to calm down! Has she not seen the tension? Well, Aparently not.
As we all entered the car, none of us looked at each other in the eye. We haven't done that since our pathetic fight.
When the fight started, I knew I had to do something. Instead, I argue to them, causing the fight to extend to greater lengths. It's heartbreaking. Guest even left the room, and everyone left each other, originally just temporary, but stretched for months. Acorn left the house she and Bacon shared, to a hotel, since she couldn't bear sleeping in the same house with the person she fought with just moments ago.

I kept remembering all these moments while in the car. Acorn driving and Guest in the seat next to her, with me and Bacon in the back, nobody dared look at each other. All of us being stuck in our minds, lost in thought, and blinded by anger. It was full of tension, but nobody expected what was next.

What in the world is that?

Someone in the description of Creepy Beach Guy (According to Acorn and Bacon) was driving in the middle the road, appearing to be drunk, and not at all aware of his surroundings.

"Oh shit, here we go again," Acorn muttered.

Guest raised a finger to indicate what she meant by that, but she kept muttering under her breath about, "Douchebags in the world," and, "careless idiots who can't pay attention."

Thats when it all came down in front of my eyes.

Acorn swerved past the guy in the middle of the road, and was headed straight for a tree.

"ACORN, STOP THE CAR," Bacon exclaimed, but Acorn didn't make a responce in time.

That was the first thing I heard that indicated a bit of interaction between each other, and the last words I heard at all for a bit of a while.

A bang came across the car and everyone was knocked out then. I was one of the last to close my eyes, staring at a destroyed mess. I reached for Guest, sitting in front of me, but I couldn't keep moving, and eventually closed my eyes then.

It was dark, about what you would see with your eyes closed. Until I saw myself.

I woke, to find a house, but it was like all of our houses combined into one. Somehow, it worked that way. The only issue was, the fact it was locked. The door wouldn't open for any reason. By turning it, pounding on the door, or calling out to random strangers from inside, wouldn't help in any way. Bacon, Acorn, and Guest were there too, but everyone kept their distance. I wanted to reach out to all of them, but it felt as if something was pulling me back. It was as if a string was attached to me and placing a boundary between everyone here without my consent. It was almost like nobody was going to save me now. All hope was lost. Everyone was pulling apart all because I didn't have the guts to stop anyone. Everything was falling into peices and I can't do anything about it. It felt as if I was the one who caused the chaos to unfold in the first place. Like my worthiness as a friend to everyone here was reduced to nothing, all because my stupid head couldn't keep its feelings to itself.

It's my fault. It was all my fault for the pain I've caused. I'm a failure. I always have been.

"Hey, don't you think we should find a way to get out of here, Nooby? I saw something on the news, and it’s kinda concerning, " I heard someone say.

It was Acorn, smiling gently, but with a concerned tone.

"Well, maybe we should," I respond quietly.

"You've lost your bright smile. Are you okay?" Acorn asks.

"Yeah! We have to get ourselves out of this mess together! No way should we make ourselves miserable because of a stupid fight, right? Nooby, right now we can find a way to get out of this, and then we'll talk about our mistakes and how to move through it!" Bacon assured.

Guest came up and picked me back on my feet with his regular warm smile.

Suddenly, it felt like I was needed again. Once more, am I back to myself.

"You're right, we can't be so petty over the most smallest things! Lets get back on our feet, then we'll talk!"

With multiple tries and countless fails, all of us basically were tired of even trying anymore.

That was when I saw it. There was a lock, and there must be a key somewhere for it.

"There must be some type of key for this door. Maybe thats why it won't open up. We just need to find it somewhere," I point out.

Then I look behind me. It was Guest, holding a key in a drawer nobody seemed to notice before.

"Guest! That might be what we're looking for! Thank you!" I exclaim, running to him and hugging him.

He hands me the key and walks to the door.

I unlock the door carefully, and the dior bursts open, like a tornado was outside. Only thing was, this outside world was just a void.

The others were quick to usher me out first. The way they made me go first madexme hesitate. I had this gut feeling that something bad was going to happen, but these were my friends. I have known them for so long now. I had to trust them, I shouldn't make the same mistake twice.

Before I left, I noticed a slightly worried expression on Guest. I smiled at him, like I always did, and stepped out the door.

I only woke up to blinding hospital lights and a terror that washed apon me. Remembering Guests worried expression, I try standing up, struggling to find Guest. Even with my struggles to stand, I continue, yet its still not enough.

I fall to the ground, only hearing mutters and shouts everywhere, and seeing Guest's face with that expression still on him.

Acorn then spotted me, and ran over to me. She looked like a mix of worried, terrified, and just scared in general.

She helped me on the bed I originally laid in, and looked down, with a face expression like she was about to cry.

"Nooby, are you ready for what I'm about to tell you?" She asked me, with genuine eyes.

"I don't know, but I'm willing to hear it," I respond, not knowing the best way to reply.

"Fine, I'll tell you. You deserve to know." She said hesitantly.

"Acorn, what is it?" I ask her.

"He’s dead, Nooby."

"What? Acorn, what do you mean, Bacon is right there!" I exclaim, until it hit me.

She meant Guest has died. Perished right there, and I couldn't say goodbye. Was this what she was trying to tell me?

"No, you can't be serious, He can't be dead! Our friend, My best friend, can't be dead, right?" I ask, tears welling up, like the world was ending. Truthfully, it really felt like that, and I can't do much about that.

My best friend is gone. I depended on him so much, I forgot what it was like without him. Now that he's gone, I can’t live without him.

"I'm sorry Nooby! I shouldn't have swerved then, It should have been me! It's my fault, I'm sorry!" She started to sob.

"No Acorn, it isn't your fault, you had a good reason to do so!"

"You're just saying that to make me feel better, aren't you? No, I'm sorry for my actions, Nooby. I truly am!" She responds, full on sobbing.

I began to lose my faith in this being another bad dream. This is real, not a nightmare I wanted to desperately get out of. Because of this, I started to cry along with her.

A loss because of a fight I escalated myself. It was my fault. I should be sorry, not Acorn. Now I've caused my best friend to die. I never thought I'd live without him, and now that he's gone, I probably can't. I'm the mistake here, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry to everyone.
