Work Text:

“So…why do I need a bodyguard again?”

Breakdown asked his brother…in front of said bodyguard.

“Because I said so.”

Motormaster said with his usual scowl.

“I hired him because we're the best racers around, and bots will be trying to sabotage us. I did the same with the others as well.”

“What about you?”

“I don't need one.”

Motormaster glared.

“It's not like you have to be friends. He's just going to follow you around and keep you out of danger.”

Breakdown sighed, looking at his new bodyguard who had an unimpressed expression.

“Alright, let's go.”

Both mechs started walking out of the room. Breakdown led the way to his own room. When he opened the door to his room to go inside, he noticed that his new bodyguard didn't follow him inside.

“I can wait out here.”

The yellow mech said.

“You can come in with me. My brother said we don't have to be friends, but I'd like to get to know the bot that's supposed to be protecting me.”

Breakdown winked.

The bodyguard rolled his optics.

“Sure.”

Both mechs walked into the room. Breakdown closed the door after they entered, leading the way over to his bed. He patted next to him to get the other mech to sit next to him.

“My brother never said your name.”

“My name is Bumblebee.”

He said flatly.

“I'm gonna call you Bee.”

Breakdown smiled.

“Whatever you want.”

“What do you do for fun?”

He asked.

Bee looked up at him with unamusement.

“Why do you care?”

“Like I said, I want to get to know the bot that's supposed to be protecting me.”

Bee just stared at him for a moment before answering the question.

“Well, I do also enjoy racing like you and your family.”

Breakdown’s optics lit up with excitement.

“Really? Would you like to race sometime?”

“That would be nice. But I'm supposed to be…y'know…bodyguarding you.”

Bee almost chuckled. Almost.

“Well, what about when you're off duty?”

“That could work.”

Bee gave a small smile.

“I look forward to it, Bee.”

Breakdown gave him a smile in return.

The mechs were walking down town in Iacon, just walking. No destination in mind. They have been friends for a while now, going to many races as Bee continued his job.

“It's nice to get out and just enjoy that fresh breeze.”

Breakdown said with a smile.

Bee silently agreed. Though he stopped when he glanced behind them, seeing a bot stop in their tracks when they were spotted. This was trouble. He grabbed Breakdown’s arm and made them both walk faster.

“Hey, what's wrong?”

Breakdown asked with a hint of concern.

“Shh, we're being followed.”

Bee said quietly.

He dragged Breakdown into an alleyway, hoping to find a shortcut back to his home. He internally cursed when it led to a dead end.

The mystery bot followed them into an alleyway, chuckling.

“You're worth a lot of money, Stunticon.”

“Yeah? Well, come and claim it.”

Breakdown said with a smug smirk.

The bot speed walked over to them, about to attack Breakdown. But Bee was faster this time, punching the enemy right in the face and then swiftly kicking them in the tank. The enemy was on the ground in less than a minute.

“Woah…”

Breakdown said in awe.

“Alright, now let's go.”

Bee said, grabbing Breakdown’s servo and dragging him out of the alleyway.

Once they were back on the street, Breakdown spoke up again.

“That was pretty cool.”

“Don't mention it, it's my job.”

Once they reached Breakdown’s home, they walked in and shut the door behind him. They were both relieved that they were safe now.

“Seems like you two had a rough day.”

Wildrider said, sitting on the couch. His own bodyguard sitting beside him. Her name was Moonbeam, a blind but deadly bot. She couldn't see, using her speed and stealth against her opponents.

“Yeah, we're good now though, Bee took care of it.”

Breakdown said with a smile, slinging his arm around Bee's shoulders.

Bee's face turned pink, feeling a little embarrassment. He still wasn't used to being praised so highly for just doing his job. Breakdown then grabbed Bee’s servo and then gently dragged him to his room, closing the door behind them.

Breakdown then spoke up again after a moment of silence.

“Sooo…I need to talk to you.”

“Am I getting fired?”

Bee asked right off the bat.

Breakdown panicked a little.

“No! No. That's not it at all. Come sit.”

Breakdown walked over to his bed, inviting Bee to sit next to him. He sat there quietly when Bee sat next to him, trying to find the words.

“I've been thinking about something. And I think I really like you.”

Breakdown said with no hesitation.

Bee’s optics widened in surprise.

“Really…?”

“Yeah. I also really want to kiss you, is that okay?”

Bee's optics widened even further.

“I…yeah. Yeah, you can.”

Breakdown smiled before pulling Bee in a hug, kissing him gently. Bee wrapped his arms around Breakdown as well. When they pulled away, Bee was smiling wide.

“I fragging love my job.”
