Chapter Text

It was the night before valentines day and Rainbox was freezing. He was visiting blackrock to find the perfect spot for Shurifin tomorrow.

“Holy shit it is FREEZING!” He chattered through his teeth while continuing to shiver uncontrollably. “Shurifin will freeze to death if they come here.”

He went back to the crossroads, carrying his boombox carefully under himself, making sure that it wouldn't get wet from all the snow. He kept thinking the whole way back, trying to think of the perfect plan to give Shuri the best valentines day he can. He thought about all the little things that Shuri always did for him, and hot little times he actually remembered to do something nice for them. This time would be different.

When he finally reached crossroads he was still trying to decide where to take Shuri. Every spot had something wrong with it. It was either too cold, too hot, too boring, too basic, but then he remembered the place where he first met Shuri, at the old docks with the lake that seems to go on forever and ever.

I am literally a genius He thought to himself, pretty much patting himself on his back for his "revolutionary" idea. of course, it would take some time, so he listened to his favourite music and occasionally chatted a bit with his friends Skate and Coil whenever they bumped into eachother.

By the time he arrived there, the day had all but already passed, the noisy sounds of crossroads muffled out by the quiet rain forming just on the outskirts of the lake. he spent a few minutes admiring the beautiful glow of the moon, reminiscing of when the two used to meet up in secret, and when they got caught by Vine and couldnt meet up for a whole month. He spent every day sitting by the docks, staring at the water and occasionally playing songs that he knew Shuri liked in hopes of seeing him again.

When Shuri finally met Rain again, they explained how Vine had forbidden them from going up to the surface, and this time Shuri managed to sneak past Vine while she was sleeping and get to the surface to meet Rain again.

While Rain was in the middle of his not-so-daydream he remembered that he came here to set up the place. He stood up from the docks and looked around for any flowers near him, and chose a small patch of lavanders, since he knew they were Shuri's favourite. He set them on the edge in the middle of a pier, facing them so that they looked outwards towards the horizon. He sat down on the dock, thinking about what tomorrow was going to be like.

Rain noticed that it was getting late, and even the busy streets of crossroad had started to quiet down. Well, I should probably get back soon, he thought to himself, he noticed that the rain that was falling far out in the lake had almost reached him. The rain gently poured down, creating a beautiful contrast between the raindrops hitting the previously stagnant body of water, and the wind rustling the leaves behind him, combined with how the ripples in the water mixed with the soft-bioluminescent blue light on the shallow seabed, made him want to stay for just a bit longer.
