Summary:

Blaion watches Blue Cop's still form and can only dwell in regret.

Metal Cardbot W Spoilers!!

Notes:

Episode 10 had me in shambles I hope you people know that.

I was listening to Faouzia's Film Noir while writing this, so I recommend you give it a listen ^^

I'm posting this short fic since I had a thought that wouldn't leave me. If enough people are interested, I wouldn't mind writing Blue Cop's perspective or just another fic related to Blaicop.

Chapter Text

Blue Cop hasn't woken up since their encounter with Solidhorn, that's what Blaion thinks, anyway. When he is, all he's able to do is mumble in pain for small moments before going back to sleep. Blaion can feel his chest clench as he watches Blue Cop's eyes close once more. Every time the bot shuts his optics, he questions if the cop car will be able to open his eyes again.

The purple Metal Cardbot, he learns that his name is Wild Guardy. Supposed hubae of Blue Cop and someone who had dreamed of becoming the King of all Metal Cardbots. Blaion doesn't pry into fantasies that he can't understand; he's sure that his dream of wanting freedom for his own kind is as crazy as the other's dream.

Wild Guardy is also just simply staring at Blue Cop's almost comatose figure. It's difficult to tell if Blue Cop is truly alive, save for the wires and monitors that read his core temperature and his vitals. They both sit in silence, watching as the vitals reach a low peak before dropping. They both follow the sound of the whirring machines, serving as a barrier for whatever news the doctor would bring.

In ways, Blaion is used to this scene. He can smell the scent of death that drifts in the room, one that has been following Blue Cop since they've escaped Solidhorn. Back on Machina, he had smelled death millions of times, on him, on his servos, on the other Cardbots that he would lose minutes afterwards.

While he should be used to smelling death. He can't say it's pleasant to be reminded of it.

It's hours until Wild Guardy finally strands. The knight walks by Blue Cop, pausing to stare for a couple of moments before walking towards one of the Cardbot-sized doors. He misses Wild Guardy's presence as now he's left alone with Blue Cop's still body.

Despite Blue Cop's state, he feels exposed. Like Blue Cop is watching his every move. Blaion shifts, opting to stand and hover over the medical berth.

It's weird. Blue Cop is typically always moving, like the bot is incapable of resting, ever. In normal circumstances, he would have probably said something about the bot's nature, a comment about how Blue Cop should be worrying about something else, or a question as to why he works so hard for other people. Now Blaion wishes he could see it again. It's wrong for Blue Cop to be quiet or still. While calm, he's always a busy presence that lingers in the background.

Blaion acknowledges that he has the tendency to grow protective of bots that he's exchanged more than two conversations with. Blue Cop happened to be one of them. He found the Star Guardian more akin to a nuisance at first. Getting in the way of his and Soleil's plans alongside his other Metal Cardbot allies.

Now, he's not sure what to label his opinions on Blue Cop.

His servo naturally shifts to the other's, wrapping his warm ones to encase the cold. The vitals perk up slightly, perhaps a reaction to the warmth, or a reaction to his presence alone.

He wants to apologize. Though he's not sure what to apologize for. It's rare for him to have to mutter the words sorry, or have to apologize at all. It's a new concept to him, one that he's having to get used to thanks to Soleil and also Blue Cop.

Phantom Hornet would laugh at his predicament.

"A lion with no pride or confidence." She would scoff.

Compared to the other Cardbots, her insults only sting for a moment. The others would rip him apart.

"Blue Cop," Blaion starts, encasing the other's servos in between his own.

"I…I apologize for being a coward."

One day, he would be able to say it to Blue Cop when he was awake. Until that day comes, Blaion leans his helm towards Blue Cop's servo and simply rests it onto the small caccoon he had made with his own servos.

He's aware that this is going to do nothing, but he wants to hope that his cowardice can be forgiven.
