Work Text:

An accident in the dugout happened.

Nightshade was working on an experiment until it accidently sent the Terrans back in time. They were sent to Cybertron but before the war. Everything was so cool, but also so much bigger than they were used to. Seeing Cybertron with a functioning society and no fighting felt so unreal.

They were walking around until Twitch had accidentally bumped into a familiar bot. When she looked at who she bumped into, she almost flipped.

“Bumblebee?!”

“I'm sorry, do I know you?”

The unusually small Bee asked.

She heard Nightshade clear their throat behind her, reminding her that they traveled back in time. He doesn't know them at all.

“Oh um…nope! I'm just a fan.”

Bee then smiled happily.

“That's sweet, thanks for stopping to say hi.”

“Of course! You're the best racer I know!”

She then heard Thrash clear his throat.

Second best, after my brother.”

She nervously chuckled.

“I understand.”

Bee chuckled.

“Hey Bee, we're gonna be late to the race if you keep chit chatting!”

Twitch heard a familiar deep voice say, turning to see Breakdown further up ahead. She had forgotten that the two were friends before the war!

“Sorry!

Bee called out to the other racer.

“Sorry kids, gotta get going. See'ya!”

Bee ran off, catching up to walk with Breakdown.

When Twitch looked closer, she saw both their servos intertwine as they walked. That's a thing that couples do! She hoped her siblings saw it. As confirmation, they all sent the exact same feels which mean that they indeed saw it too.

“We should follow them, see what they were like before the war.”

Thrash suggested.

“I agree, I especially wanna know what Bee was like.

Jawbreaker agreed.

“Me too, let's go!”

Twitch exclaimed as she flew while the other jogged to catch up with the two racers.

When they reached a stadium, Bee and Breakdown walked into a side part of the stadium. Twitch flew ahead and tried to follow them in but she was stopped by a red and gold mech.

“Sorry, only registered racers are allowed back here.”

“Oh…I'm sorry, I didn’t know. Who are you..?”

She asked curiously.

“My name is Deadend.”

Twitch felt her tank drop. Ultimately, the other Terrans felt it too. Breakdown from their time talked about his siblings. The ones that died during the war. It made her sick knowing that she was looking at and talking to a bot that was going to die.

Deadend caught her attention and brought her back to reality.

“Are you okay? You don't look so good.”

“Um…yeah. Just got a little dizzy is all.”

She responded.

Twitch peeked into the side room past Deadend, seeing other bots in there with her mentor and Breakdown. There was a yellow and white femme, she matched the description of Dragstrip. There was also a red and black mech with spikes on the side of his helm, meaning that was Wildrider. There was a huge purple and black mech standing off to the side watching the others having fun. That must be Motormaster, their leader.

They all looked so happy. Bee fit right in with them as well, laughing along with the others. This was a family. A family that was torn apart in different ways because of the war. She understood that tragedy was struck in the war, but she never truly saw what exactly was stripped away. Now she did.

“If you're sure you're alright, feel free to take your seat to wait for the race to start.”

Deadend said before walking away inside the room and joining his family.

Twitch watched them for a few more seconds before the door closed in front of her. She felt like crying.

It hurt her spark knowing that their happiness was cut short.
