Deep in space far away from Earth a man lay bleeding on the ground crawling away from a large dark shadow while clutching a silver sphere.
"You failed."
"Dragon Bre…" The bleeding man coughed as the shadow pinned him to the ground.
"You have proven to be a formidable adversary Firebreather but our long battle has come to an end." The shadow then grabs the silver sphere.
The bleeding man struggles to keep his grip on the sphere but eventually it slips out of his grasp.
"At last the Omnitrix is mine." The shadow admired the sphere for a moment before finally opening it.
But instead of finding the Omnitrix he desired, the shadow found a blocky device with a blinking red light.
"WHERE IS THE OMNITRIX." The shadow demanded.
"It's halfway across the galaxy by now y-you'll never get the Omnitrix Vilgax." The bleeding man coughed.
Vilgax was getting ready to strike but before he could.
Beep* *Beep* *Beep*
The bleeding man grinned at Vilgax.'I'm sorry Inko, Izuku, I won't be coming home.'
For a split second we see Vilgax's hideous squid face before he and the bleeding man are engulfed by an explosion.
Back on Earth, Inko Midoriya was preparing some Katsudon for her son's twelfth birthday.
Speaking of which, Izuku Midoriya was really excited, sure he didn't have any friends and every kid he knew treated him poorly but he got to spend the day with both his parents. His dad Hisashi Midoriya wasn't home often but he would always make sure he was there for Izuku's birthday.
Knock* *Knock*
"DAD" Izuku yelled as he sprinted to the door expecting to see his father as he swung it open.
But instead he is met by a light-grey fishman. "Uh hello there young man is um your mother home." The fishman asked.
"Yes I am." Inko answered as she approached the door. "How can I help you?"
"My name is Patelliday ma'am I work with your husband in the Defense Force."
"Oh it's nice to meet you Mr. Patelliday. Is my husband with you?"
Patelliday looked down sadly. "Um no you see ma'am t-there was an incident I can't give you the details but Hisashi he he didn't make it."
It took a moment for Patelliday's words to register with Inko and Izuku but when they did a flood of tears erupted from their eyes.
"I-I'm sorry about all this but Hisashi left you a large sum of money so you should be financially stable for a while." Petelliday said sympathetically.
"T-T-Thank you, that's good to know." Inko barely got the words out.
"I just want you and your son to know that me and the others at the Defense Force really admired Hisashi. He had a determined spirit and was a great hero and an even better friend."
Inko simply nodded since by this point she couldn't speak through the tears.
"I'll be going now." Patelliday waved goodbye as Inko closed the door.
Izuku, who had been silent this whole time ran into his mothers arms and the two of them cried till they fell asleep.
2 Years Later
Izuku Midoriya now fourteen was writing in his notebook titled "Hero Analysis for the Future #13." While he's doing this Izuku's teacher is talking about how the class should start looking into high school.
"But I know all of you want to go into the Hero Course." The teacher proclaimed.
This of course causes Katsuki Bakugo to go on a rant about how he's going to be the first person from this crap school to get into U.A. the top hero school.
This would've been fine if it weren't for the teacher saying. "Midoriya, aren't you trying for U.A. as well."
This caused the entire class to burst out laughing. The worst of it naturally came from Bakugo. "Come on Deku you're completely quirkless, you really think you can rub shoulders with me."
Izuku cowered trying to get his words out. "N-No Kacchan I'm not trying to compete with you…It's just been my dream since I was little so I can at least try right."
"Try The Entrance Exams." Sparks erupt from Bakugo's hands. "You don't have any powers, take The Entrance Exams and you'll be killed." Bakugo finished maliciously.
The school day ended and Izuku started looking through his phone for hero information to write in his notebook but before he could it was swiped away from him.
Bakugo held the notebook up. "We're not done Deku."
"C-Come on give it back." Izuku begged.
Bakugo and his cronies laughed at the notebook's title. Bakugo then proceeded to burn the notebook with his explosion and throws it out the window. "Look Deku, the best heroes show signs of greatness even as students. I'm a perfectionist. I'll be the first and only student hero from this crappy school. The first to win the honor of becoming a student at U.A. High." Bakugo grips Izuku's shoulder and smoke rises from his grip. "In other words, don't you dare get into U.A." Bakugo said with a vindictive grin.
As Bakugo and his cronies walk away Bakugo stops and says. "You know if you really want to be a hero there actually might be another way just pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off the roof."
Izuku went to retrieve his notebook which of course landed in the school's koi pond.
'Take a swan dive off the roof he can't go around saying that what if I actually jumped.'Izuku thought.
As he walks he recalls an old video he loved as a kid where his favorite hero All Might saved hundreds of people with a giant smile on his face. Determined Izuku looks up trying to mimic All Might.'I have to keep my chin up and keep moving forward.'
Unfortunately a green sludge began to emerge from the sewers and eyes soon popped out from the sludge. "Perfect a suit to hide in."
The sludge then jumped at Izuku surrounding his entire body. "Don't worry kid I'm just hijacking your body, it'll only hurt a lot."
'I can't breathe…I'm gonna die…Someone help.'
Before he lost consciousness Izuku heard a familiar catchphrase.
"I AM HERE."
After saving Izuku, All Might panicked since he passed out but calmed down as Izuku began to wake up.
To say Izuku was shocked to be seeing All Might when he woke up would be an understatement. Not knowing what to do, Izuku pulls out his notebook so All Might could sign it. Only to become ecstatic to see All Might already did.
"Thank you so much. I'll make it an heirloom."
"VERY GOOD NOW IF YOU EXCUSE ME I NEED TO GET THIS FELLOW DOWN TO THE STATION SEE YOU AROUND."
All Might gets in position to jump into the air.
'I need to ask him.'
All Might jumps off but while in the air he notices some extra weight the hero looks down. "HEY LET GO I LOVE MY FANS BUT THIS IS TOO MUCH."
"But if I let go I'll die."
"OH GOOD POINT."
"I…just need to ask you somethin…Ahhh."
"OKAY, OKAY HOLD ON TIGHT." All Might lands on a nearby apartment building as a bit of blood fell out of his mouth.'DAMN.'
All Might got into position to take off again but. "Wait." Izuku shouted.
"SORRY BUT I'VE GOT TO GET GOING."
Hesitantly Izuku asked the fateful question. "Is it possible to become a hero without a quirk?"
All Might paused. "WITHOUT A QUIRK." All Might then felt a sudden pain throughout his entire body.'DAMN IT NOT NOW.'
"I'm just a normal kid without any powers b-but I've always admired heroes and wanted to be one saving people with a smile on my face like you." As he finished Izuku noticed standing in All Might's place was a much smaller skeletal man.
"AHHHHhhhhhYournotAllMightwhereishewhatdidyoudowithhim." Izuku rambled, panicking.
The skeletal man sighed. "Kid listen I can assure you I am All Might."
Izuku stared at the man confused.
All Might sighed again. "Since you've seen this much I suppose I'll have to tell you the rest but you have to promise me you'll keep this information to yourself."
Izuku nodded, wanting to know what the heck's going on.
All Might then pull up his shirt revealing a gruesome scar. "You see, five years ago I got injured in a fight my stomach and respiratory system were completely destroyed ever since I've only been able to do hero work for three hours a day."
Izuku was certainly shocked by this information he never expected the Symbol of Peace, his biggest hero, to have such a weakness.
"If this information was known to the public there would be chaos. A Symbol of Peace that saves people with a smile must never be daunted by evil. The reason I smile is to stave off the pressure I feel. As for your question…"
Izuku's heart began to race.
"No, I don't think you can become a hero without a quirk."
Just like Izuku's dream was crushed. "Oh."
Feeling bad, All Might tries to comfort Izuku. "Look it's honorable to want to help people but without a quirk you'll just get hurt. If you want to help people you can become a police officer they get crap because the heroes capture most of the villains but it's a fine profession."
All Might begins to leave but stops. "It's not wrong to dream but you need to be realistic." All Might left.
That was probably the worst thing All Might could've said to Izuku he felt worse about himself than he ever had before.'I can't be a hero.'
Meanwhile All Might leaves the building and rubs his head.'That could've gone better. Maybe I should've gone easier on the kid.'
All Might reaches for the bottle he trapped The Sludge Villain in. "Now let's get you to the station…huh." All Might realizes he lost The Sludge Villain.
Katsuki Bakugo and his cronies are walking home in an alleyway. One of the cronies asked. "Hey aren't you childhood friends with Midoriya?"
"Don't ya think you over did it dude." The other crony said.
"It's his own fault for holding on to a stupid dream when he doesn't have a quirk it pisses me off." Bakugo replied ragefully.
As they kept walking Bakugo noticed a bottle with a dark liquid in it.
In his despair Izuku ends up on Dagaobah Beach where there's garbage as far as the eye can see. He looks down and tears begin to form in his eyes.'Even the best of the best said I couldn't be a hero.'His tears refuse to stop.'Why'd I have to be born like this.'
Izuku looks up and through his tears he sees a bright streak of light.'A shooting star.'
The light suddenly started heading towards Izuku. "NOT A SHOOTING STAR." Izuku screamed as he ran as fast as he could from the light that's beginning to look more and more like a flaming meteor.
The meteor struck the ground just behind Izuku. The shockwave knocked Izuku to the ground and sent several bits of trash flying.
Izuku got up and turned around and saw a giant crater where the meteor hit. Izuku slowly approached the crater and he fell in as the ground beneath him crumbled.
In front of Izuku is a strange sphere he walks closer as the sphere opens a green light emanates from the sphere. Izuku squints his eyes and sees a large black and grey watch with white trims and a green hourglass symbol centered in the middle.
"A watch why was a watch in the sky."
Izuku reaches for the watch and the watch must have the same idea because it jumps onto Izuku's wrist without warning.
"Ahhhhh get off." Izuku panics and tries to get the watch off but it was stuck on him.
"Okaycalmdownawatchfelloutoftheskyandisnowonyourwristandwontcomeoff." Izuku rambled to himself as he spotted a button on the watch. Thinking it could get the watch off Izuku pressed the button but instead of it coming off the hourglass symbol sprang up.
"Huh." The hourglass changed into a diamond shape and inside it was a black silhouette of what looks like a man on fire. Izuku cautiously pressed down on the symbol and a flash of green light envelops Izuku as the light vanishes Izuku looks down and sees his entire body is on fire with the hourglass symbol on his chest.
"AHHH I'M ON FIRE." The flaming Izuku screamed trying to put himself out covering his body in sand but it didn't work so he jumped head first into the ocean but when he walked out he was still on fire.
"AHHHHHhhh okay, okay cal-calm down I-Izuku your on fi-fire b-but it doesn't hurt and is my voice deeper." Izuku said as he brought his hand to his throat. Then an idea came to Izuku. He went over to a pile of trash and took a deep breath remembering his father's quirk.
Izuku released his breath and a massive wave of fire erupted from his mouth, melting the trash.'That watch gave me a quirk like dad's.'
"I can be a hero now." Izuku cried with flaming tears of joy. But his joy is short lived as he hears an explosion. Izuku turns his head and sees smoke in the distance believing a villain is attacking he runs towards the smoke.
All Might had arrived on the scene where The Sludge Villain was holding a boy hostage but he couldn't do anything right now because of his injury.'Pathetic, how can I call myself a hero especially after what I said to that boy.'All Might thought bitterly.'Hopefully the right hero will come soon.'
The still flaming Izuku made his way to where the explosions were happening and to his horror it was the same Sludge Villain from earlier holding someone hostage. The heroes Thirteen and Death Arms were on the scene but neither of them could do anything.'It's the same villain from earlier… so that means it's my fault… I distracted All Might and prevented him from doing his job.'As the hostage struggles Izuku can see Bakugo's eyes filled with fear.
In that moment Izuku's mind went blank and he charged headfirst towards Bakugo.'What am I doing, Why am I running.'
The Sludge Villain swipes at Izuku to fend him off.'Think Izuku you have a fire quirk now and the villains made of liquid…. I need to evaporate him.'Izuku's mind went to page 25 of his hero notebook.
Izuku grabbed The Sludge Villain's face with his flaming hand.
"AHHH." The Sludge Villain screamed steam coming off his face.
Seeing an opportunity Izuku grabs Bakugo and starts running but The Sludge Villain grabs his foot. "Run quick."
Bakugo was hesitant but shakes it off and runs as fast as he could.
The Sludge Villain dragged Izuku closer to him so Izuku put both his hands on his foot, evaporating the liquid tentacle.
Having an opening, Izuku took a deep breath like before.'Dragon BREATH.'
Izuku released a massive wave of fire that enveloped The Sludge Villain, evaporating it into a little puddle.
"Hey."
"Ahh." A voice from behind Izuku startled him. Izuku turned around to see it was Death Arms.
"That was pretty impressive." Death Arms complimented. "I don't think I've seen you before, are you a new hero?"
"Uh well." Izuku wasn't sure what to say.
Then suddenly Thirteen popped up. "NoIdontthinkheisImprettysurehesacivilianwhojustwanttohelpoutbutitwasstillprettydangeroussoillscoldhimnow." Thirteen said in a panic as she pushed Izuku away leaving Death Arms confused.
Thirteen pushed Izuku to the back of an alley away from prying eyes. "Ok what the hell was that about."
"I'm sorry Miss Thirteen I know I shouldn't have interfered but I saw Kacchan in danger I just sort of reacted." The still flaming Izuku said.
Thirteen sighed. "Look I get your heart was in the right place but that was dangerous you could've risked exposure."
Izuku is visibly confused. "Uh Miss Thirteen I think you…"
Beep* *Beep* *Beep*
Suddenly a red flash enveloped Izuku. Looking down, Izuku realized he returned to normal. "Uh hi."
"WHAT THE FU…"
"Okay over here." Thirteen had brought Izuku to an old abandoned garage.
"Um Miss Thirteen, why'd you bring me here." Izuku asked.
"All will be revealed." Thirteen chuckled as she pressed a button on the wall.
Suddenly the floor of the garage lowers, taking Izuku and Thirteen down into a slick metallic tunnel.
Izuku is in awe. "So cool Thirteen is this some kind of secret headquarters?"
"Something like that." Thirteen whispered.
The elevator came to a stop and a set of automatic doors opened. Revealing a large white room illuminated by green neon lights with a giant computer at the end of the room.
Plus a couch, some sports gear and a small TV. Izuku turned his head towards Thirteen in complete confusion.
"I spend a lot of time here alone so I've brought some of my stuff over." Thirteen said sheepishly.
"O-Okay but um what is this place Miss Thirteen?"
"Look kid, what I'm about to tell you is a secret even most heroes don't know about it. And if you ever tell anybody I do have the technology to erase your mind completely."
Izuku flinched in fear.
"Nah I'm just messing with you." Izuku visibly relaxed. "But I do know a guy." Izuku flinched again.
Believing the kid wouldn't talk, Thirteen began. "Alright kid, do you believe in aliens."
"W-Well." Izuku said nervously. "I-I th-think it would be really co-cool but I'm n-not sure."
"Aliens are real kid and they live here on Earth."
"HUH."
Thirteen chuckled. "Never gets old seeing people's reactions when they find out."
Thirteen gave Izuku a moment to process this information. "You good."
"Ah yeah." Izuku barely managed.
"Okay you see I'm part of an intergalactic organization called The Plumbers."
"Plu-Plumbers."
"Not those kinds of plumbers. We're like space police or space heroes and I'm in charge of monitoring alien activity on Earth."
"O-Okay but wh-what does this have to do with me."
"Simple you transformed into a Pyronite which is a type of alien."
"WHAAA."
"How'd you do it?" Thirteen questioned.
"M-Miss Thirteen I f-found th-this watch and I couldn't get it off a-and I pressed this button then I was on fire." Izuku explained in a panic.
"Let me see that." Thirteen grabbed Izuku's arm. "T-The Omnitrix."
"The what." Izuku asked.
"The Omnitrix it's a device that allows someone to transform into multiple different alien species but it's supposed to be a myth like Santa or the Annihilargh."
"Annihilargh."
"It's a device capable of destroying the entire universe."
Izuku started freaking out at that statement.
"But it's not actually real." Thirteen said to calm him. "Although now I'm starting to think it could be."
"Ahh I transformed and then had a public fight. I just exposed aliens to the world." Izuku panicked, realizing what he could have done.
"Hey, hey relax kid most aliens blend into society pretty well people just think they have mutant type quirks and we make it a point not to have too many of the same species live in the same area so people don't get suspicious I just panicked when I saw you because there aren't any registered Pyronite Plumbers on Earth."
"Oh okay." Izuku relaxed. "So what now."
"Now I need to get the Omnitrix off you."
Izuku looked down, saddened by this statement. "Do you really need to take it."
"Well yes it's not exactly responsible to leave such a powerful device in the hands of a random teenager."
"Oh I-I see it's just I was born quirkless." That caught Thirteen off guard. "But the Omnitrix gave me powers a chance to actually do something to be a hero." Izuku was on the verge of crying. "But I understand why I can't keep it." Izuku smiled through the tears.
Thirteen went over to a drawer and pulled out a buzzsaw to remove the Omnitrix from Izuku. She felt bad for the kid but she had a job to do.
"Alright kid, let's get this thing off you."
4 hours later
"Yeah we're not getting this thing off you." Thirteen sighed in defeat as she threw a broken device into a pile of a bunch of other broken devices.
"Sorry about your buzzsaw and uh laser." Izuku apologized.
"It's fine kid." Thirteen tried to think of what she should do. "Hey kid I just realized I hadn't asked you your name."
"Huh oh Izuku Midoriya Miss Thirteen."
'Midoriya.' Thirteen's eyes widened although you couldn't tell because of her helmet.
"Uh, who are your parents?" Thirteen asked wanting to make sure this kid was who she thinks he is.
"My mothers Inko Midoriya and my fathers Hisashi Midoriya but h-he died two years ago." Izuku answered.
Thirteen then contemplated her choices. "Alright Izuku we can't get the Omnitrix off you so there's only one thing to do." Izuku looked at Thirteen curiously. "You said you wanted a chance right." Thirteen began to uncouple her helmet. "Then I'm going to train you to use the Omnitrix so you can become a hero." Thirteen removed her helmet revealing a huge grin.
Izuku clenched his chest as he burst into tears. "T-Thank you Thirteen."
Meanwhile in deep space a deformed shadow floated in a tank. "Master Vilgax, we've detected the Omnitrix's signal."
Vilgax eyes narrowed.
