The door swung open.

Dohu jolted awake, eyes teary and tired.
Taking a look at the door, he was met with a face full of ashy blonde hair.

“Good rest, hyung?” the guy grinned teasingly, flopping onto the worn-out turquoise couch alongside Dohu.

Dohu could only smile and roll his eyes.

A golden light cascaded in their shared the living room. The scent of coffee and old photographs filled the air— almost comforting so.

Dohu leaned into the younger boys shoulder, taking a sharp inhale of whatever-cologne Juheon was wearing.

“This case—Emma. I think there’s more to the story than we think,” Dohu broke the silence.

Juheon tilted his head and blinked blankly.

Dohu trailed off, “Well—there’s just no way she just.. disappeared,” he closed his eyes exhaustively, rubbing at his temples.

He felt himself falling asleep when warm hands cradled his even warmer cheeks. A slight blush tinted his pale skin.

“Hyung— you’re burning up!” Juheon said worringly, eyebrows furrowing. He sat up from the couch, running off.

He’s gone, Dohu.

This is just a memory.

He’s gone.

You should’ve stopped him.

You should’ve been quicker to get out of the way.

It’s your fault.

Dohu snapped back into conscious, but with a much more torn scene than before.

“Juheon..?” He whispered, his voice wobbly. In his blurry vision, he could see a blonde figure lying next to a pool of red.

The latter grimaced, his normal chestnut eyes were now draining a golden color.

Memories flashed between the two men: first their college graduation, then one with the weird pink-haired twins, and then the one a ‘few weeks’ ago when they arrived in Bridon.

And then, it was black.

Again, and again, and again, a neverending cycle of Baek Dohu trying to save Seo Juheon from his fatal fate; death.

The brunette cant even remember how many times he’s traveled back by now.

Every memory doesn’t even seem to be the same— changing every-time Dohu experienced them.

Sorry, Seo Juheon, I’m always telling you not to change the past, but I couldn’t follow my own words. Even if I know that death is an unchangeable point I still wanna use the last chance to return to the beginning and save you.
