As the government puts out another warning to stay indoors, I feel a strong sense of boredom. Why even listen to those stupid warnings anyways? It’s clearly just some trick so they don’t have to take responsibility for another financial crisis, so I went out anyways. On that peaceful walk, at least peaceful for now, I felt a strange sense of paranoia and dread. I noticed plenty of corpses and rubble everywhere, but the threat probably just left so who cares. Suddenly I hear some rustling in some nearby bushes, the creature the announcement warned us about, they called that THING “The Pursuer” and they warned us about how it hunts. I, in a terrified state, started running and it too chased back, it was relentless and I barely managed to escape into an alleyway, after noticing it was gone, I stayed in that alley for a little while. I had gotten an alert of some other threat in the area, but I knew I was in no shape to run anymore, so getting to my house wasn’t an option and this new guy can hack devices so if I don’t do something quick, I might die (of death) from my own stupidity, when suddenly… that robot thing found me, I thought that I would die (of death) here, but instead… we just locked eyes. Even though I knew it was trying to kill me it still managed to look cute? And I’m sure it felt the same. It decided to let me off the hook, clearly intending to meet me again sometime and honestly, I wanted it too. After a few days I thought it had forgot about me, as stupid as it may seem, I’m kicking my feet and giggling just thinking about that stupid fucking robot, so I really wanted to end up finding it. Conveniently, after a few minutes it sent me a text:
-So, after what happened a few days ago, I was wondering? Would you like to go out with me sometime?
-Sure, but I don’t even know your name or who you are? I replied quickly.
-Oh, where are my manners? My name is BadWare.
-My name is (insert your name), and yes, I would love to go on a date with you.
-Perfect, I know a great place to get coffee around here, could you do 1pm Friday?
-Sounds great, see you soon <3
I was beaming with excitement; I mean all this time I thought it was a fluke. So, after a few days of patiently waiting, I went to the location, and he looked even cuter when not trying to murder me! We both just stared at each other for a moment, our eyes fixated, we both sat down. – I brought you flowers. He said, clearly looking nervous.
I noticed that everyone in the establishment ran off just from seeing him, some confused on why he was so close to a human. The employees treated us great, probably out of fear, I had ordered an espresso and a cookie with a cute face on it. He didn’t order anything, instead pulled out a bottle of some bright green liquid, he claimed it to be battery acid. It’s strange, something about us just clicks. We’re barely on the first date and we’re still staring intimately into each other’s eyes while we talk, it felt so natural to have a conversation with him. We managed to talk for quite a while, and I got to know him better, he loves programming, cooking and weirdly enough, nature? I’m not complaining though, it’s everything I want in a man <3. He seemed to be extremely fixated on random things about me.
-Your hands… they’re so soft and inefficient in combat…
-Uhh… thank you?
-And you’re strangely warm…?
-Why are you pointing these things out, every human has them?
-Well, I don’t have much contact with humans, so all of this is endearing.
Honestly, I didn’t mind him doing this, I actually found it cute. And after telling him a bit about human customs, seeing that he doesn’t want to hurt humans anymore, I would call this date a success! Afterwards We immediately started planning another date. After a few more dates, our relationship is still going strong. Now that I finally know him better, we decided to plan a hiking trip, we also decided to bring some friends, apparently, he’s friends with a popular magician who goes by Artful. I was a bit nervous to meet him, I’m a huge fan, and have been to several of his shows. So, we arrived at the cabin, I really liked the place and the view was amazing. I’m glad there was heating there, even though looking at badware is the only heating I need. My buddy and Artful arrived shortly after, I mainly brought them here because they are an even bigger fan of Artful than I am. As funny as it may sound, it seemed that (your friend’s name or yfn for short) and Artful started hitting it off, it also looked like love at first sight! Anyways, there was a beautiful lake nearby so badware took us fishing. While me and my buddy hadn’t gone fishing before, Artful and badware seemed to be experts. They taught us how to do it, and before long we managed to get the hang of it. Afterwards we returned to the cabin and watched a movie together. I noticed that there were only two bedrooms, not that I’m complaining <3, so me and badware snuggled up into bed. I really enjoyed pressing myself against his warm, metallic body, with his arms wrapped around mine.
After waking up, Artful made us all some amazing pancakes, he also drew his face on my friend’s pancakes, I thought it was cute. Next, we went hiking up a nearby mountain, badware loved the scenery and so did I. We made it to the top of the mountain and all collectively looked at the horizon, it was incredible. When we made it back home, we all ordered some takeout and just sat by the cabin’s fireplace, badware kept staring at me, intimately.
-Oh, don’t mind me, I’m just admiring. He said in a teasing voice.
I giggled at that one. Artful seemed to be loving the romance. Afterwards, me and badware decided to go back inside, it was too cold for me! He made us some hot cocoa, with the marshmallows, he knows me too well <3. Honestly, I love our stereotypical cheesy moments, I find them cute, my friend sees them as stupid but you know, who cares. By the next day, BadWare offered to take me hiking with him.
-How about we do some more hiking together, just the two of us.
Of course I accepted. On our hike, we found a beautiful lake, we both just stared at it for a moment, to take it all in. When we returned home, we found yfn and Artful cuddling on the couch, it was adorable. Afterwards me and BadWare went to go watch a horror movie together, I was fine with it since, even if I got scared having BadWare next to me was all the closure I needed. Me and BadWare were just staring at each other, not even focused on the movie, and in that moment, I gave BadWare a kiss on the… monitor? Clearly, he wasn’t expecting it and he flew into a flustered panic, I found it endearing.
