Day 1 / Rose Day
February 7th, 2026
"Just buy flowers and get it over with." Leo said to Alan, "Sho doesn't like overexaggerating things anyways."
"... Does he have a favorite flower?" Alan asked.
"Not that I know of." Leo replied. He was looking through the books section for some reason
Alan stayed silent.
Roses were symbols of love, right? People give roses out on Valentine's Day all the time. In Alan's opinion, the petals looked like deformed hearts.
"Would he like roses?" Alan asked another question.
Leo stopped and thought for a second, "Depends on who's giving them."
Alan nodded, taking in the information.
"You're seriously planning on giving him roses?" Leo said. He looked kinda disappointed.
"You said he liked simple." Alan said blandly.
"If you're getting roses, get him blue roses." Leo pointed to the flower boutique across from the bookstore they were currently in while saying that.
Blue? Okay. Not red, blue. What do blue roses even mean?
Leo looked at a book before just gently throwing it back to where it was on the bookshelf. He literally walked out of the store, leaving Alan behind.
Alan followed Leo instantly. Leo can’t drive anyways, Alan drove them both to the mall.
“Are you getting anyone something?” Alan asked Leo.
"None of your business." Leo simply replied.
Leo was nicer today.
Perhaps it was because Alan was getting something for Sho, who was Leo's bestest friend. Perhaps Leo was just too immersed in finding something for his certain someone.
Leo suddenly stopped. He turned around to face Alan, "Aren't you supposed to be finding flowers or whatever shit you're giving Sho?"
Alan blinked at Leo.
"... Go back to the flower shop." Leo told Alan.
"Okay."
"I'll call you when I'm done, just pick up your phone when I do." Leo said, walking away from Alan.
Alan stood there for a second before walking back to the flower boutique. When he entered, he was immediately greeted by the owner, who seemed very happy.
"Welcome! What kind of flowers are you looking for?" The owner's greeting was cheerful and lighthearted.
The shop was busy with many people, mostly males, also looking for flowers.
"Roses."
"Are you looking to ask someone?" The owner asked, her eyes showing her curiosity.
"Ah. Yes.” Alan replied, scratching his neck.
He was a bit awkward. Leo or Sho usually did the talking.
The owner didn’t seem to pay any mind to that though. She excitedly hurried to the back, expecting Alan to follow her. The owner showed Alan the roses section with a small “tadaa!!”
On every shelf and display were colorful and vibrant. The roses were sorted in colors and there were even rainbow bouquets.
“Did you have any colors in mind?” The owner looked through the multiple flowers.
Well, Leo did suggest blue roses…
The owner must have seen Alan eyeing the blue ones because she instantly went to wrapping the roses, "Who's the lucky girl's name?"
"It's a boy." Alan replied deadpanned.
The owner instantly apologized and then asked "Who's the lucky boy?"
Leo instantly appeared somehow, interrupting the conversation. "Did you like. Throw your fucking phone or something?" He then spotted the bouquet Alan had in his hands, "Damn, that was fast. Are you really that desperate for Sho?"
The owner looked up surprised, "You know him too? Haizono usually comes around when he's buying groceries."
Leo stared at her, "Okay? Well this lovesick himbo is trying to get him something."
The owner's eyes lit up when an idea popped into her mind.
When the two got back to Darkwick, it was 6 PM.
"Damn, you guys were gone for like the entire day." Sho commented from the couch. He was reading some cook book.
"Still reading about cooking? You've got enough knowledge about that already." Leo replied.
Sho shrugged, flipping the page.
Alan stood there like an idiot holding flowers.
Leo pushed him to another room, "Moron. You can't let him see."
Alan stared at Leo.
"You don't know how to do this." Leo stated, "I'm setting you up tonight."
"What?" Alan said.
"Mido-Senpai?" Sho walked towards the fountain where Alan was standing.
It was 12 AM exactly.
"Ah, Bandana." Alan greeted.
"I thought Leo called me here?" Sho asked.
Alan walked towards Sho.
Sho literally stood there, watching Alan carefully.
Alan stopped in front of Sho, "So. Uh. I need to tell you something."
Sho looked up at Alan.
The Vagastrom Captain shoved a rose bouquet into the others hands. Sho instantly got this confused expression
The roses were colorful. Not only the blue roses Leo suggested. Blue, red, white, yellow, and green. Those were the colors of the roses.
"Ah.." Sho looked down at the roses in his hands. His confused expression turned slowly turned into a smile, "You got me roses."
Alan nodded awkwardly.
"Is this a confession?" Sho half-teased, half-asking genuinely. His eyes held this happy glint.
"Are you declin-"
"No, you idiot!" Sho embraced Alan so fast, he was practically jumping onto him, "I'm accepting."
Alan's mouth curved up in a rare smile too.
Sho let out a laugh, "I love you too, you himbo."
"I'm glad." Alan replied.
The younger ghoul pecked older one on the cheek.
Alan instantly got slightly flustered, "Are we a thing now?"
"What do you think?" Sho asked him. Contentment was practically vibrating off him.
"Yes." Alan responded, finally hugging Sho back.
The news of them dating might be overwhelming tomorrow when it gets out, but for tonight, Alan and Sho just enjoyed the moment of each other's warmth.
