Chapter Text

"Aaaand done!"

Parker stepped back, inspecting Charlotte's covered face. Charlotte touched her bandaged cheek, astonished by the protected bruise. "Thanks, Parker.."

"Sorry if the attic is too untidy" Parker turned around, looking at the attic, Charlotte took a peek behind him. "I don't mind." She scooted back to her original place.

His cheeks flushed rose-red, obsessed with the feeling of Charlotte being secured by him. She glanced at him, noticing the change of color on his face.

"Are you blushing?" She asked. Parker shook his head nervously. "Nope!" He was hesitant to tell the truth, Charlotte shrugged it off anyways.

The sun's rays touched her skin, she turned around glancing at the window. "Hey, Parker do you want to go to the field?" He nodded blissfully, holding Charlotte's hand then running off to drag her with him.

"Careful!" She exclaimed, carefully climbing down the ladder. Parker continued to drag her, running down the stairs then bursting the door open.

Charlotte panted, looking up to see Parker, reaching out his hand for her. "C'mon Charlotte!"

Parker squinted his eyes, grinning. "I'll take you to the paradise you've always dreamed to be in! Join me."

Charlotte looked at him in awe, she held his hand and gripped on it, her mouth wide open as Parker dashed through the bushes and ferns. "You'll really do that for me?"

"Yup!"

She continued to run with him, looking at his back and appearance, up and down. `I don't know what to feel about this..` She said to herself.

Seconds passed, they finally arrived at the flowerfield. Parker bent down and plucked out a dandelion. "Charlotte!"

She turned around; the breeze started to gush through the space. He handed her the dandelion. Seeing the look on his face, she knew he was covered in desperation—desperate for her to be his. "Parker...?" She stuttered.

"Take this flower and promise me." He gripped her wrists, placing his hands over her palms. "Promise me you'll continuously take or appreciate the companionship and love I give you?"

Charlotte's mind began to generate a river of indescribable thoughts. A waterfall of sentimental feelings twisted her heart. "I..." She took a deep breath. "Promise." Charlotte swore with all her heart.

Parker felt his ego glow as he heard her finish her sentence. "Please don't forget that from the bottom of my heart, I am willing to do anything to drag you out of this nightmare."

She looked at him; she felt as if her ability to speak had been wiped out. Anything to drag her out of her household? He was the only one who had never hit her nor given her a bruise.

"I feel lost.." She mumbled.

Parker wrapped his arms around Charlotte and pulled her in for a hug. "Come on! Don't worry I'm always here!"

Charlotte looked down, deep inside she didn't feel.. anything. A feeling of guilt? Discomfort? Love? Realization? She never knew.

That ended her river of unhinged emotions. Although she didn't feel anything about Parker yet. Charlotte was patient about ringing the bell and obtaining the meaning of this indescribable emotion.
