Chapter Text

The emerald eyes stared at the positive test in the palm of his hand: It’s not like he planned this surprise on purpose, but he never thought fate would trick its narrative to the point of being pregnant by someone he didn’t remember

It all started with loud songs and enough light to distinguish the bar in this crowded party. Izuku Midoriya was known by many names, and “sweetheart” was one of them, even if the remarkable figure, who stole too many hearts in the street, accidentally changed his mind after a terrible accident that happened to his students, whom he considered his own children. It was the consequences that came with this life he chose as a quirkless omega, but he didn’t have any regret concerning his dream to be someone’s hero, instead of a forgotten shadow in history.

When he was younger, he used to watch documentaries about his idol, waiting impatiently for the amazing power he would receive at his fourth birthday, only to see his dream fall apart at the heartbreaking news. His mother stood by his side and supported each of his projects, influenced by the kindness of his heart for the tiny newborn that became an inspiring figure. Inko Midoriya couldn’t be prouder of her son when she hugged him after receiving his diploma, a reminder of the chance to have such a devoted mother by his side.

The freckled man found a career in the teaching field, admiring the joy rising on his students' faces that made him feel like a proud parent. He didn’t have a child and never planned to have one in the next few years, at least not until he found the right person to share the rest of his life with, who wouldn’t transform pretty vows into venomous curses. His love life had never been a good example, and each of his one-sided romances ended up breaking him apart to the point of choosing his career over love. He didn’t need to have someone occupying the empty side of the bed to make him happy, not when he kept the letters from his students, who thanked him for his support.

His inner omega felt lonely most of the time, convincing him to get freaky with the people who caught his attention, but Izuku always knew how to keep control of this desperate voice, which insisted on having some company. The green-haired man knew he was good-looking, and received many compliments about his ability to steal anyone’s hearts on the spot: If he could, he would have hundreds of alphas at his feet, but the teacher believed in a romance that tends to last a lifetime, instead of a temporary night.

It’s not like he wasn’t attracted to people, he got a certain style he liked more than the others, but kept a deep secret that’ll scare him the ones who tried to flirt with him. The shade of his messy curls often attracted the most curious eyes, but some of their speech explained how they wouldn’t give a chance to a virgin omega, with no experience. These selfish behavior brought more embarrassment to the shy teacher, who felt the need to pretend when he was looking for honesty if he wanted something stable: The only warmth he’ve known was the touch of his fingers and the plastic of his toys during his heats, and he was fine with the idea of continuing that way until he felt comfortable with the one who’ll make him at ease about the idea of breaking such boundaries. Izuku was proud of his choice and thanked the stars for sending him enough signs not to commit his first time with some asshole and forgotten names…

However, if the temporary comfort of the glass erased his worries, all his thoughts reminded him of how he ended up here, sensing the drink that found the back of his throat as he made conversation with a few strangers, who occupied his attention for a short time. The green-haired man knew a majority of the people who came here didn’t want to be friends, or only wanted to share their trauma with the bartender. He had never felt this lonely despite the shadow that disappeared as soon as they came after being rejected. It’s not like he was completely alone, he got amazing friends who were too occupied tonight, his mother lived a few neighborhoods away from his current apartment, and he didn’t feel the need to make out with some strangers for the night. All the options able to fill this overwhelming despair were either impossible or out of reach, leaving him with the pretension to listen to blurry faces as the alcohol filled his blood and warmed his body for a moment.

The repetitive habits continued as he dropped the money on the counter to get another one, getting a few glasses of water from time to time, until he found him. The first thing Izuku noticed was the taller figure who moved closer to him, sliding the money on the wooden material and starting to talk with him about something his omega forgot, too mesmerized by his beauty at the moment, but stupidly drunk to recall the details on the man’s face. The stranger presented himself as a pro hero, a topic that started the conversation around Izuku’s forgotten dream and the secrets he would usually keep hidden from anyone who mentioned this sensitive subject.

In all honesty, Izuku Midoriya unconsciously put his guard down when his voice started to share the unfiltered thoughts that crossed his mind. There was something heartwarming about the kindness of this taller man who made sure to pay for a glass of water for him and listen to his bad day at work, without trying to make any move on him, just like the others had done until now. It was refreshing to have the semblance of a good company and a friend for this lonely night, sensing how his omega was comforted by the strong scent escaping the alpha’s wrist.

It started with something slow and hidden enough not to be understood at first sight.

Izuku Midoriya was terrible at flirt but the comprehensive glance on the blond’s face and the impression of sharing the same state as him, gave him an ounce of courage he hadn't felt before. The hero introduced his name a few times and corrected him, but a certain nickname slipped through his lips, as he found himself growing wings with his drunk state. He was rational enough to know what he was doing with this dangerous game he hadn't played with anyone until now, but dizzy enough to make endless mumbles, only to catch the slight grin on the alpha’s face.

Something awoke inside his chest at this sight, that was strangely exciting for unknown reasons.

The scarred hands pushed the fresh drink aside and started to rest on the other’s legs, moving his face closer enough to feel the blond’s breath against his lips, making him more vulnerable than he already was. Izuku didn’t know who he should blame for this second of inattention that’ll change the rest of his life, but for the first time, he decided to choose for himself and whispered something that made the hero blush. It was cute to see how this new confidant was acting all shy all of a sudden, before sliding his strong palm against the omega’s thighs, intertwining their fingers together as they decided to continue this night somewhere else.

Izuku couldn’t tell when things started to get heated, probably in the passenger seat with the teasing thumbs against his inner thighs, or the actions that followed the moment their shadows reached the teacher’s apartment. The sound of an open lock was enough to bring an amused smile to the omega’s lips, ready to break his boundaries with someone who not only offered him his kindness, but a beautiful painting to look at. All the shame he felt about the nasty comments left by the other alphas that crossed his path disappeared when he heard the hero’s praise, pushing his back against the door to lock their lips together.

The shorter man whispered something to the blond’s ears, noticing the hidden grin that resulted from this previous confession. Izuku Midoriya was ready to stop if he felt uncomfortable, but there was something addicting about the way these warm lips chased after, how his strong fingers wrapped around his waist and pinned him down on his bed, with an amazing scent able to make everyone forget their own name. The messy green curls were spayed on the bedsheet, even when the comfort of their clothes became a forbidden souvenir, transforming any fears into seductive tricks between them.

Izuku spent his first time with the sensation of being loved, even if his blurry vision didn’t make things easier. Something shifted in their heated dynamic the moment their bodies connected with a tender gesture, hot lips sliding all over his naked skin and praising the beauty of his scars, as the scarred hands held the alpha’s hair tighter. The only hints he got in the euphoria of the moment were his golden spikes, and the injuries on his body, similar to his but distracting enough to feel firm fingers cherishing his body as a treasure.

The freckled man got drowned in this wave of pleasure that didn’t compare to this hands, understanding why so many people would prefer the company of partners instead of their heat toys. The childish nickname escaped his lips too many times to count, bringing an amused grin on the hero’s lips as he continued to explain how beautiful he was, until his lips found his inner thighs and left hickeys there. From time to time, Izuku succeeded in noticing the sharp crimson eyes, looking at him with desire as their booth's shadows continued this dance that seemed too dangerous for their liking: It would be hard to fill the loneliness of his next heart without these fingers wrapped around his body, and this addictive scent.

He had his expectations concerning his loss of virginity with the chosen alpha, but thankfully, none of his worst-case scenarios happened with the taller man, who kept kissing him all over again. Izuku was sure his lips were rosy due to the desperate exchanges of their mouths, continuing an illicit affair as they became at each other’s mercy for the night, with the delicacy of these gestures. Instead of treating him as a vulgar object, the calloused hands made sure to tease the freckled man enough to make him whine for more, but not too much to make him come on the spot.

Their universe collided when their bodies made one, connected by something more impressive than the beauty of the previous vows, shared by the addictive voice near his reach. Izuku succeeded in finding the strength to whisper a few things, asking if there was anything he could do to make his alpha satisfied. After all, the blond gave him such pleasure, and the least he could do was to return the gesture, as the rest of the night happened in a series of pleasing discoveries for the freckled man, too drunk of this scent and the warmth that stayed by his side until tiredness took the lead.

However, this dream, too good to be true, fell apart when the first thing he noticed in the early morning was the empty side of the bed. He should've been more cautious or asked the blurry figure to stay, and welcomed the sharp tears falling down his cheeks once he realized how he had been played. His body needed to recover from the last night, remembering how he fell asleep in the alpha’s arms with a scent that stayed in the morning! It was the only souvenir he got from this night that brought him an unforgettable first time, despite the harsh reality awaiting him outside this apartment.

His fingers moved to the side and grabbed the scented pillow, ready to scream at it …until he found a small note on the side. He wiped the last tears on his cheeks and took the piece of paper in the palm of his hand, reading its content that unconsciously erased the once worries once his eyes found the content.

“My apologies for leaving in the early morning, but we both know you deserved more rest than I. Last night was something I'll never forget, with the hope of seeing our paths crossing again to continue what started…If you want us to.”

What a shame Izuku didn’t remember the man he spent his night with, he would’ve loved to get his phone number and explained how he didn’t want to forget about him too! After all, the only details he recalled about this moment were the ethereal discoveries, the sentiment of being loved, and the impression of missing something…If not someone. The shorter man sighed, pushing the note on his wooden nightstand, and decided to continue his day as if nothing happened, even if it was impossible to ignore the rising blush on his cheeks when he caught his reflection in the mirror.

—----

He should've known the symptoms weren’t related to a naive cold, but the more he looked at the pregnancy test, the more he recognized the chaos of this situation: Raising a child required certain knowledge and abilities he didn’t have at this young age, he was in his twenties and never planned to be a parent, especially a single one!

He learned from his mom’s testimony how some moments were harder than others, but the freckled man needed to think about the consequences it would have on his life. If he chose to keep the child, he would face many complications but moments of joy as described by his mother. However, if he chose to abort, he could continue his life but it could also be the last occasion to have a family on his own…as tempting as it seemed, the omega needed to think about his final decision.

He rested his back against the toilet seat, groaning at the mess he had caused. Shit, the only thing he wanted was to have fun for one night and despite the protection used in their intimacy, the condom put him in this compromising position. How was he supposed to take care of another human if he couldn’t even survive by himself? The worst part will be the reaction from his loved ones, he already pictured his mother being stunned at the news, and his friends asking hundreds of questions about the alpha with whom he spent the night.

Izuku came to the conclusion that he could, for a while, pretend nothing happened while taking care of his state until he serious think about it. For the moment, he wanted to continue his teaching career without raising any doubts about any potential change in his body or his scent, even if an appointment with his doctor was more than necessary! As crazy as it seems, not one day went by without remembering the warmth against his body, the same source that heated some of his thoughts, impacted by the first time that left indelible damage on his inner omega.

The green-haired man tried to picture the details of this face that enchanted his night, but the only hint he got was his status: public hero. It was better than nothing but there were a multitude of options s and the research needed to be more specific! Izuku remained curious about the stranger on the other side: What was he doing and did he still remember their night as he mentioned in his note? How would he react if he learned that their encounter turned out to be a surprise for both of them?

It was obvious that he couldn’t find the mysterious alpha, and he shouldn’t focus on such things when he had more important things to do. The shorter omega prioritized his career over this story of one night and found the same joy that filled his chest when he recognized the student, returning with a smile on their face. As a professor, he was more than relieved, but as a pregnant omega, he started to see the daily habits with a biased perspective: He became more vulnerable to the injuries of his students, and strangely protective over them, catching Aizawa’s curiosity.

It didn’t take a long time for his mother figure his secret out, reading into his glance like an open book.

The green-haired woman wasn’t stupid and noticed the change in her son’s behavior, until Izuku felt calmer enough to reveal the truth. As expected, Inko was shocked by the news, and offered him a hug with her unconditional support, explaining how she would choose his side until the very end. The tears falling down the omega’s cheeks reflected his relief to have someone by his side during this moment of vulnerability, asking her to accompany him for the appointment and the first ultrasound.

The older man explained in detail the process and location of abortion clinics if he decided to make this choice, with the understanding teacher, who seemed lost at the complexity of the situation. For the moment,  everything was under control, but he needed to prepare for the changes, including the ones on his body and the need to have help for the slightest chores, the morning symptoms, and his situation at work. A part of him wanted to go to the clinic, but another one wanted to see what kind of adventure he could share with the invisible human in this black and white picture ….

The months passed by and Izuku adapted himself to his new habits, avoiding the party with his friends at the nightclub and finding a certain ease with this lifestyle. The lonely night at the bar became a forgotten souvenir as he enjoyed the night on his couch and the food on his plate, the meetings with his friends who learned the news and became too curious, with encouraging words. Izuku wouldn’t wish for better people by his side in the first months of his pregnancy, and found a strange comfort in the idea of having another human inside his nonexistent belly, even if the ultrasounds often caught his interest.

The black and white picture revealed how the tiny bean was now taking the form of a blueberry, as small as it was at the palm of his hand. Izuku knew he shouldn’t spend so much time focusing on the growing pup inside his stomach, but his beliefs concerning his initial decision changed after the appointment with his stenographer. That day, he thanked his mother as the woman started to explain the state of his body until a certain sound echoed in the room. His eyes searched for the origin of this sound, only to realize how the only one able to make such a heartbeat wasn’t him…but the pup on the screen.

Until now, he always thought he had the time to think about the consequences it would have on his future, but he never predicted such an evolution in a few weeks. Inko’s hands held his tighter, recognizing the hidden tears at the corner of his eyes, influenced by the hormones and the surprise of this song, that somehow, succeeded in charming the hesitant omega. Things would be harder if he wanted to be separated from this innocent life at birth now he's reached his fourth month, but he immediately knew he wanted to explore more of this journey the moment he returned home and announced the news to his mom.

It was a strange sensation to recall the heartbeat of someone he hadn't met yet, even if he started to get attached to this tiny blueberry inside his belly. It did not take long before creating a list of goals to fulfill before his pup’s birth, including a better location to raise a child in safe conditions, with the most desperate one at the bottom, explaining his wish to meet the father of his child one last time. He knew it was an inaccessible dream, which is why he chose to consider this as a form of hope, as desperate as it was…

His life started to face significant changes at the beginning of his second semester, collecting the ultrasound as a fond souvenir, despite the morning sickness. He couldn't step back and was already connected to the small peach, who occupied most of his thoughts. At his work, he acted as a protective dam toward his students, raising some doubts about the slight change in his scent, and successfully avoided embarrassing conversations.

He needed to stay discreet and continued his research for a better apartment in the close neighborhood, buying a house was too high for his salary and he just needed another room, so why did the budget change with this simple additional criterion on his list? The green-haired man continued until he found the perfect choice near the center of the town, close to the Dynamight agency and his workplace: Izuku considered this a miracle if he ever got this, and hoped to make good use of this new location if something had to happen to him…After all, being close to the safest place was the best he could do as a protective parent!

His body started to feel the physical changes, especially with the distinction of his small belly that caught the most spying eyes. The green-haired omega dodged the invading questions concerning the father of this child, when the only thing that mattered was the estimated due date, mentioned by the doctor as something variable, especially for a first pregnancy. Izuku didn’t mind the wait, recalling the ultrasound on his wallet with the tiny feet and hands of his daughter.

One of his favorite habits during his free time was to take a walk during the bright days, searching for more objects for his daughter’s collection and looking for the plushie she’ll hold in her tiny hands. The loud echoes of conversations and cars resonated as a familiar song for his sensitive ears, wearing cozy clothes for the day to change his mind. A light smile crossed his lips when he recognized a toy he'd been looking for, ready to enter the shop until he felt someone accidentally bump into him.  The freckled man lifted his head and waited for the man’s apologies, but he was cut off guard by the stranger standing right in front of him: The taller man had the prettiest shade of red that colored his eyes, reminding him of a jewel to protect, untouched by the palm of Izuku’s broken hands. The golden spikes offered a strong competition with the blinding sun that warmed their shadows, even if the details on his face and its familiarity reminded him of someone he had already seen before!

There’s no doubt the stranger was the most gorgeous man he had ever seen, wondering if Izuku should put the blame on his omega, longing for a mate, or his heart, chasing after the ghost of his past. Little did he know how this accidental meeting was about to change the rest of their narratives, and turn their world upside down…

—---

Katsuki Bakugo knew something had changed since that fateful night.

The days that followed this unexpected encounter were marked by the ghost of the omega’s touch and the beauty of a man named Izuku Midoriya, who transformed his world with a simple glance. The golden-haired man wasn’t the kind of person to believe in legends such as love at first sight, but he put his guard down when his eyes locked with the charming emerald ones. There was something breathtaking about the unique shade of green that colored his messy curls, the form of his freckles, and the scarlet color that heated his cheeks at slighted compliments.

It was crazy to explain out loud how he fell in love with the sensitive soul, and found his previous doubts confirming themselves when they both continued this flirting game in the omega’s chamber. Katsuki never planned to go this far: He sincerely enjoyed the company of the interesting teacher, who shared his worries, his tears, and found an ease in their conversation between his drinks. He already caught his distant shadow from afar, rejecting the many alphas who tried to get into his pants, and being the chosen one to spend the night with him was an occasion the hero refused to let go!

However, he was surprised by the slight whisper against his ears, confessing a secret that caught the hero by surprise. Katsuki didn’t have any preferences when it came to sex, but he remembered when the teacher shared his fear of rejection due to his “big secret”, considered a shame he couldn’t even mention in conversation. This detail was an important detail to take into account, but if the freckled man was too occupied to shut the blond down with a kiss and his legs wrapped around his waist, the golden-haired man decided to transform this night into a discovery they couldn’t forget. Dynamight was a man of his words and kept his promises from the moment he ghosted his lips against the omega’s chest, to the light praise that escaped Izuku’s lips and the strong grip inside his spikes.

It’s been a while since the blond felt such a strong connection with someone, and easily came to the conclusion that Izuku was the first who made him feel ethereal sensations, including the desire to dig deeper with this pleasure and the strong feelings rising inside his chest. The green-haired man was the result of his wildest dreams, from the beauty of his messy curls spread on the white pillow, the way his nails dug into his shoulders, and the way he welcomed each touch of the blond as a treasure to cherish. Izuku didn’t know anything about the joy that came with this experience, that’s why the blond took his time to make things right and mesmerize the details of this scene, even when the sleepy omega immediately fell on his chest after their make-out sessions. The blond’s body was too exhausted by this night he couldn’t quite forget, and fell asleep with the warm scent of the omega by his side, who seemed to find this situation more than comfortable, based on his light scent.

Everything changed in the early morning, when the first conversation of the town broke the hero from his peaceful dream. The bright sunlight crossed the curtain of this unknown location, and a groan escaped his lips when he moved his body and found an obstacle blocking his movements. Katsuki was ready to complain about this bother, only to find the most breathtaking man standing by his side, with his messy curls on his arms. The trace of their stolen kisses echoed on the vulnerable skin, highlighting the hickeys, if not bites, that brought a light blush on his cheeks…

The memories of the last night were still blurry due to the alcohol that gave him an annoying headache, and he almost cursed himself for letting such a detail ruin the beauty of this sleeping shadow by his side. Based on their current position, the freckled man didn’t seem to let go of him so easily as he held his body closer, until a light smile crossed the tip of his lips. Under this angle, his freckles were similar to a constellation, with the hickeys left in his naked skin, even if this detail brought a pride grin to the blond. He remembered the strength of these firm fingers against his skin, with Izuku calling his name by this mesmerizing melody that sent his body into a full bliss.

His calloused fingers moved a lost curl behind his ears, cupping his cheeks as the shorter omega moved in a better position with light mumbles. How was Katsuki supposed to leave when he found himself addicted to this beautiful painting, with the prettiest man he had ever seen who refused to let go of his grip? If he could, he would stay by his side and prepare breakfast to see the sparkles in his glance, but he needed to leave before making the omega uncomfortable: After all, Izuku feels guilty for what happened, and maybe all of this was the story of one night with the blond falling for someone who’ll break his heart…

It was a tough quest to move without bothering the teacher, but the taller man took the time to put the bedsheet closer up to the omega’s shoulders and ruffled his curls. He knew he should leave before getting caught, but the crimson eyes were mesmerized by the man who made him fall in love with the idea of the unknown, despite not knowing anything about each other. Izuku saw him as a confidant and someone trustworthy enough to share something as important as his first time, and these details were more valuable than any victories on the battlefield. Good thing Katsuki Bakugo liked the taste of danger, and was ready to wait an entire lifetime to continue this chapter he left open on purpose. He gave a quick kiss against the omega’s forehead and slid the small note, getting his clothes back as he took a last glimpse at the sleeping figure with a smile on his face. The sound of the wooden door was nothing compared to the loud street he walked on when he joined his apartment, realizing how he already missed the company of this guy he met less than 24 hours ago.

The stubborn hero didn’t believe in love at first sight, but Izuku Midoriya was the exception to the rule.

There was something in the beauty of these frames that occupied his lonely nights and his ruts, the way his scent was more impactful than anything he had until now. After all, he was one of the most coveted names on the rank, with everything served on a silver plate, but the next months that followed his separation with the omega were the loneliest he had ever been: He didn’t understand how his alpha became attached to a stranger he wasn’t meant to meet again!

Dynamight kept chasing after the villains, kicked some ass, and protected the city. He recalled his teenage days when his teacher, Aizawa, told him about the great potential of his quirk he adjusted to different situations. His childhood was lulled by the praise of his parents and the strangers in his surroundings, the crowd acclaiming his name was nothing new, even if he enjoyed being the center of attention for a while. His name ended up on the first pages of the media after compromising situations and made-up lies, often solved by his PR team, even if all his loved ones noticed something different in his behavior.

His friend teased him about this stranger that never left his mind, and his parents questioned him about the reason behind this delightful scent once they mentioned the night that changed his entire beliefs. Katsuki didn’t notice the hints until his surroundings pointed out the recurrent details, realizing how his heart and inner alpha hadn’t moved out since this fateful morning, with a tender scene that chased his nightmares away. Izuku did mention his workplace and his job status, it was plausible to meet him by “accident”, but he didn’t want to bother the teacher, who probably moved on.

Katsuki continued his redundant habits, he hoped for a change every morning, only to find his silent wishes mocked by the stars.  Being a recognizable hero was a title envied by many people, but the sadness of this life reminded him how a series of victories couldn’t bring back the joy of his youth, stolen by the weight of his adulthood. Dynamight saved the town and was the hero of many people, but Katsuki Bakugo was the stubborn alpha who spent some time with his friends and never considered romance as an option until he met the charming omega, who stole his heart on the spot.

He longed for the day when he would find the freckled man and continue what they stopped that night, until his despair became a reality when he accidentally bumped into this haunting name. That day, the blond decided to buy something for his father’s birthday, and barely noticed the direction of his body, ready to share his apology, until his eyes widened at the familiarity of the scene. In front of him was the ghost that chased each of his dreams, with the same messy curls that offered a pleasant contrast compared to the last souvenirs he got of them. His crimson eyes noticed the way his freckles stayed intact, with distinct forms that caught the hero’s attention, the appearance of his scars on his exposed skin, and the shining emerald eyes, which hadn’t lost their beauty since that memorable night.

Katsuki’s heart recognized the fast heartbeat, similar to a song he had already heard too many times for his liking, too focused on the shorter omega: Izuku had never looked so beautiful!. The golden-haired man had many questions to ask about the teacher’s state: Was he okay? Did he remember the things they’ve promised that night? Or did he want to curse the hero for leaving him behind with a simple note?  Don’t blame him for not knowing the code of romance when he never felt the need to, but this accidental reunion could be seen as a fortunate happenstance that played in their favor. The hero had already lost too much time and didn’t want to pretend anymore, not when he sincerely missed Izuku’s voice, his chuckles, his fond smiles, and the way he made every struggle disappear with a blush on his chubby face.

“Excuse me but….Have we met before ?” The green-haired man asked with a soft tone, holding the bags in his hands closer. This impression of deja vu seemed mutual, based on the vulnerable expression crossing the blond’s face, causing more questions at the tip of his lips: His instinct never failed him, so what was the missing piece of this puzzle his heart wanted to complete at all costs?

Katsuki’s face turned surprised at the previous question, wondering if the nerd was teasing him or wanted to redo their first meeting in a more casual way. After all, the souvenirs of their night at the bar were already blurry from the drinks that found the back of their throat, and some people had the preference to rewrite the story with a new beginning! However, the blond quickly figured out how this “joke” wasn’t one and the lost expression on his pretty emerald eyes betrayed the sincerity of his curiosity. He knew asking a stupid question was a waste of time, but the words naturally slipped away from his lips, understanding too late the weight of the answer that’ll break his heart….

 “You don’t remember me ?”

Based on the heartbreaking crimson eyes, it seemed evident that their path already met, but the only way to make this happen was by something accidental. Izuku would definitely remember if he shared a conversation with this gorgeous man, who made his heart beat faster than the rhythm of his favorite song! He tried to search deeper inside his distant memories, but the only echoes he had from this stranger were the familiarity of this face…that resided right beside the agency that was located a few meters away from this apartment!

“Oh my god- I recognize you,” mumbled the teacher with an embarrassed tone, putting a lost curl behind his ears and covering the blush on his cheeks. How stupid was he to commit such a mistake when he recognized this face everywhere? Maybe the hero didn’t recognize him from afar, and maybe their first meeting happened by a complete coincidence, but there was something endearing about the way the crimson eyes brightened at the previous comment. “You’re Dynamight, the hero in the top five ranks. My sincere apologies for mistaking you with someone else, you see, I actually rent an apartment next to your agency, but it's a pleasure to meet you…I’m Izuku Midoriya.”

Katsuki was convinced he heard his own heart shattered inside his chest, realizing how he'd spent the last months longing for someone who obviously forgot about him, and seemed to move on with the curse of his life. What was he expecting: Some kind of emotional reunion and childish project about a romance that couldn’t see the light of day? He fell in love with an inaccessible spirit in this lifetime, and the worst part was how he still considered Izuku Midoriya the prettiest man he had ever seen, but held his tears and decided not cause a scene. His calloused hands filled the close space between them, as the emerald eyes looked at him with a surprised glance on his face, and this adorable expression on his lips that made the blond fall harder for someone who didn’t love him back…

“The pleasure is all mine, I'm Katsuki Bakugo, but you can call me by my first name, I don’t mind if it’s you,” he said with a sigh, containing the overwhelming sadness inside his chest.

The blond needed to stay strong, even if he wanted to know how Izuku could have forgotten about him after all the gentle praise and sincere confessions he shared by his side that night? It’s not like his desperate questions will face immediate answers, despite the rising sparkle in the omega’s glance, and the way he covered his blush with a tender smile, which made him cuter than he already was. There was something strange about this series of deja vu that lasted too long to be a simple coincidence, but the most frustrating part was not finding the hints that were raised right under his eyes!

“That’s strange, are you sure you didn’t save me before? I’m sure I've already heard this name…”

Izuku wished he could bring colors back to the hero’s face, especially when the reputed figure had already given him enough of his time with this simple conversation. Many people and reporters would kill to have this privilege, and it was served on a silver platter for the naive omega, who enjoyed the blond’s attention. Maybe he already had a crush on this inaccessible figure for a long time and didn't realize it, or maybe his omega was easily seduced by the attention of an alpha, who didn’t treat him like the least valuable object of their collection.

“It depends on the narrative you choose to believe.”

Katsuki knew he couldn’t force someone’s love, and was already grateful to have a lucky reunion with the captivating teacher, who hadn't looked away from his glance. The expressions portrayed on his face were as open as the lines of his favorite book, as Katsuki simply sighs, agreeing to leave the meaning of these words blurry on purpose. It would be too crazy to see Izuku remember him overnight, but it was his chance to steal his heart if it wasn’t already taken by someone else…

“What are the odds that our paths crossed by accident in this small town? If I knew I would meet the great Dynamight, I would’ve probably put on better clothes, you must think I look ridiculous-”

“You’ve never looked so beautiful to me,” the blond whispered. It must be the euphoria of the moment that made him attentive to every detail crossing the teacher’s face, from the light breeze moving his curls on his forehead, to the bright blush that heated the freckled cheeks.

The shock of the previous revelation made him lose in his own narrative even if he didn’t mind catching the lost time with this ghost that represented an important element of his past, meant to be in his present and future, no matter the title shared at the end of their journey. Izuku Midoriya heard many compliments hidden with tricky lies, but he never felt so much sincerity after the words shared by the most coveted hero, who looked at him like he was the prettiest jewel of the lands. The freckled man was nothing but a simple shadow in the crowd, noticed by many people for his charm, but serious about the boundaries he refused to push aside. He needed to be on his guard not commit another mistake, but why does everything feel so easy and somehow comforting when the crimson eyes gave him such an endearing glance?

“Would you…Would you mind taking a coffee with me ?” The shorter man surprised himself with a question he'd never seen coming. His inner omega begged him to make a move on his future “mate” when they barely knew anything about each other. After all, someone like Dynamight, shouldn’t waste more of his time with an annoying person like him….but the slight hope rising inside his chest gave him an ounce of courage he’d never felt before. “I don’t have for too long, I just need to take something in this shop, but only if you want-”

“I would love to, freckles,” the answer was immediate, almost like the blond had been waiting for this naive proposition. It’s not like they were going on a date together, and the setting for this fortunate meeting was in their favor if they wanted to waste their time together…even if Katsuki was already longing for this melodious laugh that appeased his broken heart. His amused gaze found the emerald ones, who softened at the positive response, holding the bags closer to the palm of his hands as the background noises of the crowd slowly returned to their ears.

“Great, and to be fair…I think I need your help with something, it could be fun!”

There was so much naivety in the teacher’s voice that reminded Katsuki how a human life was as fragile as a leaf falling from a tree. The memories of their first meeting replayed inside his mind as he followed the shorter man with a hidden grin at the corner of his lips, opening the door of the shop and catching the pleased smile on Izuku's lips, and the mesmerizing scent that left his patch for a few seconds.

—---

The sound of their footsteps resonated with the closed door, welcoming the appeasing atmosphere in this shop, while the landscape differed from the repetitive buildings on the other side of the street. The first details that caught their attention were the recent songs played in the speakers with the distinct shelves and their bright colors in the next meters, highlighting the products for the future parents and the few shadows who seemed too deep in their conversation to notice the hero’s presence.

It wasn’t the first time Katsuki entered this shop, he recalled the hangout in town with Pinky about how her first child deserved “the best of care”, and basically dragged him to select a few things for his nephew. The stubborn alpha never thought he would end up in a similar scenery…at least not with the stranger that seemed relieved to have him by his side: Izuku didn’t confirm it, but the charming scent and the stolen glances proved how the blond’s assumptions were right!

Instead of teasing him, the golden-haired man followed the shorter omega, who showed him a list of a few objects and toys he needed to buy, leaving a few series of questions at the tip of the hero’s lips. Katsuki didn’t want to be too intrusive and asked if this interest was for someone he personally knew,. The obstinate head that scared every villain on the battlefield was immediately sent to the different areas of the shop to collect the things on the list, choosing the best option according to him, with the hope of hearing positive feedback from the nerd.

The speakers diffused another melody that caressed their ears while the chaotic list was now filling the card with extras that weren’t included in their plans. If Katsuki stayed loyal to the orders he had, Izuku found himself attracted by the multiple options in his surroundings, taking his time and asking for help from the blond from time to time. There was something amusing about the idea of being in this crazy situation where the most envied hero of the town spent his time with some stranger, hoping it won’t be on the big news tomorrow if they get caught.

Katsuki barely had time to get rest as he was constantly called back by the familiar voice, requesting his presence. He appreciated the interesting questions asked by the intrigued omega, who never left the bags of his previous purchase aside, almost like he had something to hide…or maybe he simply forgot about their existence. A slight grin crossed the tip of the blond’s lisp as he walked closer to the shelves, depicting a multitude of clothes for children of different ages, until he found the focused emerald eyes on the life-or-death choice that occupied his mind.

The scarred hands exposed the two options near his reach, putting his fingers on his chin before sharing a look at the taller man, who hadn’t said a word since his surprise appease. Izuku knew he could do this by himself, and he already did in the last weeks, but he always enjoyed the company of people in these convivial moments, and having the great Dynamight offering his help was something unique!

“I already bought a cardigan in a similar shade, but I'm hesitant about these ones…Tell me, what looks good for a girl ?” The freckled man asked with a sigh.

Katsuki wasn’t surprised to hear about the gender of the child who’ll receive all these precious gifts, recalling the variable shade of pink, mixed with the peach ones that bring a certain neutrality in this chaos. The hero was known for his achievement on the battlefield but rare were the people who saw his taste in style, a quality he learned from his parents, who taught him a few tricks about the design field. The choice of his clothes always matched the colors he decided to wear outside his hero costume!

“Based on the repetition of Oyster you got in your cart, I would recommend the darker one,” his finger pointed out at the Old Rose which brought a clear distinction between the previous choices. “Brats are attracted to bright colors, but not the blinding ones, unless you want to make this kid blind at birth-”

“I would never-” the teacher gasped with an offended tone, catching the light grin that crossed the hero’s lips.

Izuku knew he had exaggerated reactions, but he didn’t have any regrets about being so dramatic when the life of his firstborn was on the line and she needed to be the cutest child of the neighborhood! The shorter man regained his calm, punching the blond who rolled his eyes at the meaningless attack, and locked his eyes in the selected choice of the hero: Katsuki wasn’t as bad as he seemed about his rational thinking concerning mode, maybe the omega should keep him by his side a little longer if he wanted to make every mothers jealous of his pup’s style.

“You know a lot about children, do you have one ?”

Many interviewers would kill to have the answer to this personal question, but Katsuki didn’t mind when it came out of Izuku’s mouth. Unfortunately, the blond made the mistake to picture the imaginary child if they had the same beauty as the omega, even if this belongs to his wildest dreams and unattainable goal in this lifetime. His biased preference made him more observant of every detail on the teacher’s face, while avoiding a stupid misunderstanding: He would already be covered with bags under his eyes if he were a young parent, and thanks he wasn’t one!

“Fortunately no, but my friends gave birth to their first son six months ago, so I had to play the great uncle. I babysat the brat from time to time, but except for crying, there’s nothing else he can do…No wonder he gave sleepless nights to his parents,” he teased with a sigh.

Don’t get him wrong, he liked the company of his nephew and how he fell asleep in his arms, Katsuki wasn’t a complete monster, but he couldn’t imagine the struggles of being a parent. The golden-haired man expected to hear a chuckle from the omega’s lips, something that would confirm how they both shared the same opinion about this situation, but the sparkling emerald eyes turned softer at his answer.

After all, Izuku was excited to hold his daughter in his arms and let her be a part of this world, and had so many things to learn about his role as a parent, with the moment of vulnerability awaiting him after his pup’s birth. “That’s really sweet, I bet he likes your company as much as I do,” he finally replied with a lighter tone.

Suddenly, the inaccessible Dynamight was seen as another human being, who took the time to share personal stories about his life outside his professional career and well-known victories in the media: It must be why Izuku was touched at the idea of seeing this impressive figure breaking his shell so easily and offering him the comfort he hadn’t found in a long time. The rest of their conversation happened with smooth topics that mixed with the light tease that escaped their lips, as they reached the checkout and started to display their collection to the cashier’s judgment. The younger manmade a nod when he recognized the golden-haired man, and decided not make a scene or wrong assumptions about the situation, as he started a jovial conversation with the green-haired omega and explained how he probably went off his budget and something crazy.

“This looks really cute. Is this for a friend ?” He asked while scanning the peach onesie.

If Katsuki stayed silent and participated from time to time in their interaction, he kept his ears open and put the clothes in the plastic bags with stolen glances. His crimson eyes found a way to admire the omega’s beauty under every angle, with the moving curls in the breeze of the open door of the shop, and the light blush on his cheeks as he expressed his contentment….but the naive question of the cashier brought a slap to the blond’s face, realizing how fate didn’t bring him closer to Izuku for an unknown reason.

“Actually it’s for me,” replied the shorter man with a nod, pushing the bags he kept on the side away and revealing his belly.  His fingers ruffled his stomach as a warm smile crossed his lips, feeling a slight kick at the palm of his hand, with a quick gaze at the young cashier. “We need to start somewhere else when we’re 5 months pregnant, don’t we ?”

“You’re right, and congratulations!”. It was common for him to see every type of parent crossing this store, he enjoyed the different stories shared by their partners, but a part of him wondered if Dynamight was connected to this fortunate event. After all, it was none of his business, as he continued to ask a few more questions that stayed in the blur for the observing alpha, shocked by the previous revelations.

Katsuki Bakugo already saved the town more than once, he kicked the most dangerous villains and faced many near-death experiences, but nothing could’ve prepared him for this slap in the face. He hasn’t felt his heart beating this fast inside his chest for a very long time, and yet, the song that played in his ears wasn’t as soft as the melodious chuckle of the omega. His body froze on the spot and left the rest of the baby’s clothes on the side, trying to process what just happened.

To his knowledge, he was a normal man with his weaknesses and qualities, who achieved some achievements and failures: Dynamight built his career on his upcoming victories and the pride he’ll bring to the town, and never planned to involve an innocent in this journey. He started to think about how the stars mocked his despair by sending him into this situation, where he faced the consequences of a story he lost control of. He wasn’t the writer of this ending that seemed so predictable until now, but the actor of a narrative that happened behind his back, with his disbelief and his lack of knowledge about a role he hasn't accepted yet.

If Izuku was pregnant it was a simple coincidence and definitely not related to the event that happened five months ago…right? Maybe the teacher took birth control and slept with someone else which led him to this situation, but this simple thought made him uncomfortable. He didn’t have any intention to act so possessively and jealously of something that was none of his business, but…the states aligned perfectly with the current situation. Five months ago, Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo shared a passionate night that left indelible memories: If the blond was haunted by the ghost of his past, the freckled man was the one with a stronger souvenir of their encounter, based on the small bump under his shirt and the life residing there.

At first, Katsuki waited to wake up in his familiar room, but the breeze against his sweaty forehead brought him back to his reality. At this moment, he connected the dots of the previous scene, the way the freckled man seemed alright with a decision imposed by fate, and the clear exposition of the round belly, portrayed as a responsibility the hero couldn’t ignore anymore!

He was too young to be a dad and didn't know anything about the right way to raise another human or take care of them. He barely survived some of his fights, pinned after a ghost of his past,  and his evident lack of knowledge about parenthood wasn’t in his favor. This situation was more than a simple plan to get the freckled man’s heart, and no matter the outcome of this situation, he’ll be forced to be present at the omega’s side. Don’t get him wrong, Katsuki wasn’t against this idea, but raising a child…it was another obstacle he’d never seen coming.

He took a quick glimpse at the onesie on the side, and the echoes of Izuku’s mumbles, unaware that the father of this pup was standing right next to him. Katsuki was gonna be a freaking dad, and yet, the slight ounce of excitement he felt about this news disappeared when he remembered how the teacher handled all these changes in silence. Maybe they should’ve reached him way earlier, and broken these boundaries if this means learning the news and offering his help in this mess he caused in the first place. He bet none of them planned to even be parents in such a context, but Izuku seemed to accept a future where he would raise their daughter on his own.

Shit…Katsuki needed to take a breath: Freaking out in public will only bring more doubt about his true identity, but he’ll be forced to learn a bunch of things, if not years, and none of it matters….because his first child was a girl! All his previous beliefs about young parenthood, which seemed inaccessible, became his new reality when he felt the tiny onesie in his broken palms. He didn’t know why he was impatient to see their pup, and if everything would be alright with her health-

“- For sure, but we have to deal with it and…Wait, Katsuki, are you alright ?” Izuku asked with a concerned voice, putting his hands on the blond’s shoulders, while the scent escaping his patch brought the frozen alpha back to his reality.

The widened eyes returned to their crimson shade listening to the fast heartbeat inside his chest: To be fair, he didn't even know if he accepted the news or if he was terrified by this idea of raising a child this young, but he decided to pretend a little longer until he made up his mind.

“Yeah, I was just…lost in my thoughts,” he mumbled with a distant voice.

Katsuki was conscious of the previous scene he caused in the shop, but the only thing that mattered was the weight of the clothes he had in his hands, the same ones he put back in the plastic bags. He couldn’t believe how all of these belonged to his daughter, someone he hadn’t met before, and caused him a mixed sensation of excitement and fear about the unknown chapter of his life. His crimson eyes shared a quick glance at the worried omega and casher, and unconsciously grabbed his own credit card to the surprised beta.

“Take mine, and don’t listen to Mister Pretty Eyes. Consider this as my way to thank you for the coffee we haven’t shared yet because I have a lot of questions about whatever happened…here,” he said with a sigh, pointing out the exposed belly, hearing the teacher’s complaints. After all, the least he could do was to pay the teacher back for the wasted months of his absence!

Things won’t always be easy from now on, and he hopes their next conversation will bring him the answers he needs before drowning in this ocean of assumptions. Izuku’s face turned red when he grabbed the ticket in his hands and the other bags in his hands, wishing a good day to the younger cashier. The green-haired man didn’t understand why he felt so affected by this gesture: If Katsuki wanted to thank him for a conversation that hadn’t happened yet, why did he notice a change in the crimson eyes…almost like he knew something he didn’t?

It was a kind gesture to offer him the cart, and Izuku insisted on returning the gesture by paying for coffee, a detail that made the blond roll his eyes. He found the courage to thank the taller man and noticed how the hero was strangely focused on the exposed belly from time to time, with an indescribable look on his face.  It didn’t change the fact that Izuku was excited to continue their conversation somewhere else, as their shadows disappeared in the public building…

———

The lighter background and relaxing settings made things easier for the freckled man and his guest, who seemed preoccupied by something indescribable at the moment.

The golden-haired man was still stunned by the revelation and appreciated the efforts made by the teacher to change his mind and cheer him up, centred most of their talk around their childhood and the common points realizing how they could’ve been the best of friends if they had met earlier! The minutes passed by with the disappearance of Katsuki’s previous anxiety, brightened by the fond glance of the teacher, mentioning the progress of his students, unconsciously revealing precious information for the spying crimson eyes.

Katsuki returned the gesture by describing his routine as a hero, while admiring how the omega found the time to adapt his professional and personal life, especially with this unexpected event that showed up out of nowhere. At first sight, Izuku didn’t seem to consider this as a bother, even if his emerald eyes hid something deeper behind his glance, and barely mentioned the night of the pup’s creation… In all honesty, the blond wanted to let him know the truth, but decided to stay discreet to find a way to help the nerd without scaring him.

“How does it feel ?” He asked with a curious tone, catching the surprised emerald eyes. Katsuki started to get used to this painting that revealed different aspects of a scene he already mesmerized by heart. “I mean, it must be something strange for you and I've seen my friends in a similar situation. I know a few things about omegas and their symptoms so…”

“You decided to check on me….that’s really sweet, Katsuki.”Izuku knew people had the tendency to be more careful when they saw their close friend or family in such a sensitive part of their lives, but there was something comforting about seeing Dynamight occupying his lonely afternoon with someone he had met a few hours ago. “In all honesty, it’s something indescribable, it scares you at first especially in my current circumstances and how I ended up here, but you start to get used to it pretty quickly. After all, you’re the only one able to keep this small bean safe, and having such responsibility is scary, the risk is worth the try when she reminds you of her presence with a kick, even if we can count them on the fingers of one hand!”

“How can you be sure it’s a girl ?” His calloused hands held the hot cup inside his palm as he took a silent sip of his drink. Causing a public scene with the shocking revelation might represent a serious danger for the omega and his pregnancy, and the best Katsuki could do was to take things with ease with slow but meaningful steps if he wanted to have the teacher’s trust.

“I recently went to a check-up and learned about the estimated due date and the sex of my pup, if I wanted to. I guess my inner omega was impatient, I always keep the recent ultrasound in a pocket and have a picture of her tiny feet and hands, they look so small- Sorry, I know I shouldn't center the conversation about this, but she’s growing too fast.”

“You’re really excited to meet her,” Katsuki whispered with a comprehensive tone, pushing the hot cup on the table. His crimson eyes noticed the changes of expression on Izuku's face, realizing how he barely knew anything about an omega’s perspective, when he was the one who handled all those changes on his own. He remembered hearing about his protective mom in the blur of their conversation at the bar, and a delicate heartbeat played an appeasing song to his ears when he saw how gentle the freckled man was with the choice of his words.

“Things haven’t always been this easy,” he pointed out with a glance at the exposed belly, remembering when the transformations in his body were barely visible. “I didn’t consider it amazing news the first time I saw the positive result on the test. You see, this situation was the result of a condom that broke after spending the night with an alpha I have no memory of! The only thing I recalled from him was the intimate sensation of being connected with someone who genuinely cared about me, even if the last thing I got from this encounter was a note he left in the morning…and my daughter, obviously."

Oh…This explains a lot of things about why Izuku didn't recognize Katsuki earlier. The freckled man who shared his moments of vulnerability around another drink wasn’t a heartbreaker who liked to give false hope to people, but just another soul who got cursed by fate. Maybe things would’ve been completely different if Katsuki had left his number on this piece of paper, but a part of him was convinced that it wasn’t too late to keep fighting, especially when the life of an innocent person was on the line.

“And what changed your mind ?”

“The first time I've heard her heartbeat,” replied the freckled man with a warm smile on his face. Izuku underestimated how a simple conversation with a stranger could make him proud of the journey he's been through, from the moment of doubts at the beginning of his pregnancy, to the current details mentioned in their talk. “I knew I wanted a child, but was surprised to find this forgotten wish brought to me after a drunk night! It wouldn’t have been an issue if I had kept in contact with her father but he was already out of reach…So I needed to make this decision on my own. My loved ones supported me in every step, and abortion was an option for a moment, but the moment I saw the unconscious attachment I got toward her, I made the choice to accompany her in the unknown."

Katsuki never expected to hear that Izuku wanted to take a different option, based on his actual behavior, and was surprised to learn about this moment of doubt. If only he'd been there earlier, maybe Katsuki could’ve helped him with this process, offered his support, no matter the final decision of the lost omega. The green-haired man was an impressive soul for sure, but after the past months of blurry questions…He’s never been so strong in the blond’s eyes: Handling all of this and assuming the security of a growing child? Maybe Izuku Midoriya was the real hero all along.

“I know I probably sound like most of the annoying parents who constantly talk about their children, but there’s something heartwarming about the decision to keep her…Almost like I considered her as the last embers of a night with a ghost I've been trying to chase for so long, but this is none of the topic here. How rude of me to talk about another alpha when you’re here,” Izuku said with a lighter tone, covering his embarrassment as he searched for the picture on his wallet.

Lost in his search, he missed the blush that rose on the blond’s face after his previous words, being an indirect confession about a night they couldn’t quite forget. Izuku’s face warmed up and successfully found the object he was looking for, sliding the black and white picture to the center of the table. However, the rest of this painting disappeared when the echoes of Katsuki’s heartbeat were louder than the breath escaping his lips. Hearing about the existence of this child was a thing, but seeing the actual human in this black and white picture was another! Katsuki shouldn’t betray himself and show the multitude of emotions that crossed his heart at the discovery of this tiny bean inside this belly, that somehow, seemed too small to contain an ember like her!

The first detail that caught his attention was the form of the hands and the feet. Despite not hearing the famous heartbeat of his daughter, the emotional alpha felt a sudden pride when he realized how the form at the center of this echography started to look like a real human. Katsuki put the blame on his longing alpha for being influenced by the fond confessions of the freckled man, offering him a tender perspective he had not seen before: There was something indescribable about meeting his daughter for the first time though a picture, even when his fingers slid over the tiny head, with a touched expression on his face.

Izuku was known to be a wise observer and easily caught the change of expression on the hero’s face. For a moment, the stubborn hero, opened his complete shell and took his time to hold the ultrasound as if it were a treasure to cherish. Dynamight had no reason to act so affected by this simple picture, and yet, the green-haired man succeeded in noticing the small sparkles that colored his glance.

“Your alpha must be proud," he said with a sigh, regaining his consciousness.

Katsuki didn’t even know why he started on this topic after being overwhelmed by a sensation he couldn’t understand yet: Sure, he just saw his daughter for the first time, but why did he feel the need to play the protective mate when it was none of his business? It’s not like Izuku patiently waited for him all this time, and it would be fine if some extra already occupied the teacher’s company…

“Oh…” Izuku put the picture back in his wallet with an embarrassed smile. “I don't have one, I’m single. It would be risky to involve someone in this forced parenthood, and pregnant omegas without any mate are often considered a bother to many people.”

Another struggle that came with his second gender was the assumptions made by society concerning a role he was supposed to take against his will: According to the popular beliefs, an omega needed to stay at the mercy of his mate, take care of the role of a mother, and live under their alpha’s shadow. Fortunately, the past years proved how change was a relieving progress for the many names that distinguished themselves from the crowd, and gave them the opportunity to have control of their own body.  Izuku wanted to put the priority on himself, and not the opinion of some annoying alphas who wanted to get into his pants!

“Bullshit, I don’t agree with their perspective,” pointed out the blond with a serious tone, noticing how the freckled man was surprised by his sudden comment. “Anyone with glasses could see how strong you and the other omegas are in this fight to bear life. You’re beautiful in every way possible, and if there’s someone to believe it’s this small head who considers you her biggest hero! Society has a lot of shitty things to say about the roles you need to take, but in the end, the stubborn alphas are the ones who put their feet under the table and let their partner handle all these transformations for themselves, an ounce of support isn’t too much to ask for.”

Katsuki Bakugo was a hero, a reputed figure in society, and his words needed to be either measured or controlled by his PR team. He would rather be hated by an entire country and admired by Izuku, instead of standing by the stereotype that feeds the brains of the most ridiculous alphas of this town. After all, he was the one who listened to the nerd concerning his story about a choice that belonged to him in the first place!

“You’re only saying this to flatter me,” Izuku affirmed with a low tone.

He already had echoes of similar speech in the past, but the owners of such thoughts ended up being assholes who take advantage of someone's vulnerability. It’s not like the teacher didn’t believe Katsuki, he noticed the sincerity in the choice of his words and the curiosity about a story that wasn’t his, but Izuku needed to protect himself. He couldn’t get heartbroken after the last night he spent with this man who occupied his dream, and the father of a child he probably didn’t know about, or will never meet.

“If there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s how Katsuki Bakugo never lies,” the taller man said with a serious tone, grabbing the scarred fingers to catch the teacher’s attention. “And yes I'm talking about myself in the third person like some of these selfish extras, but it is what it takes to convince you about my words, I’ll do it again if necessary.”

It’s obvious how Izuku had been hurt in the past, but the hero didn’t want to repeat this cycle, especially not when the strong omega was bearing their pup and assured a comfortable home for the next few months. Katsuki wasn’t really sure when he would say the truth about the connection to this unborn pup, but the least he could do was to be the emotional support and make the next months easier for Izuku….

“That’s really sweet of you,” the green-haired man said with a smile that covered his previous chuckle at the stupid comment. The teacher knew he shouldn’t open his heart to anyone, but he didn’t mind having Dynamight as a friend by his side, especially when he had shown more respect than any of the guys who tried to have him in their beds.

Katsuki needed more time to think about the serious consequences it would imply to raise this child and create a safer space for their daughter: After all, Izuku said he was single and giving up wasn’t an option. For the moment, the blond couldn’t make a serious decision and chose to continue the conversation and learn more about the teacher and his habits. He discovered the silly movie marathon made by the green-haired man during his free time, his passion for his job, and the changes on his body, as invisible as they seemed.

None of them saw the hours passing by as they kept talking with their exchanged smiles and their growing chemistry, realizing how staying by each other’s side wasn’t as bad as they thought…

Notes:

Katsuki "I'm too young to be a father" Bakugo and Izuku "I'm too stupid to recognize the alpha I've slept with" Midoriya.

And we meet again for another story with my beloved bkdk family trope, I'm happy to see the final result and share it with my readers, with the hope that you'll like it! This time, I can proudly say that the "humor" tag is respected because I've made myself laugh a few times while editing this, and you'll quickly understand in the next chapter why I can't tell more, haha.

However, I do have a small complaint off topic concerning my recent situation with Google Docs if you haven't read it on twt, but my computer decided to play with my nerves because I can't do anything on my Google Doc pages/projects (I mean, adding space, go the next paragraph, and even making comments!). I do have some alternatives and an option I haven't used yet, but in all honesty, it kinda demotivating and I don't really like the way it makes me feel unable to write or just want to give up. I still have a few fics ready to be posted, but it's...I don't know, I'm too anxious about it. I know this won't change anything, but i feel the need to justify a potential lack of fic if this issue had consequences on my motivation...

Anyway, Thanks for reading, take care of yourself and feel free to support me through comments, kudos, or bookmarks!
