The sheets were cold. The apartment was completely silent. Sangwon was just laying on the bed, half asleep.
He managed to reach his phone on the nightstand, checking the time, « 11:03 pm ». No wonder he was struggling to stay awake.
Sighting, he turned to the other side and extended his arm, as far as he could without moving more, trying to catch something.
Slowly, he wrapped his fingers around what he was looking for, a plush. It was Leo’s. The small penguin that he had for a while now.
Trapping it in his arms and burrowing his head in the plush, he sighed again. He stayed like this for a while, and eventually fell asleep after some time.
He doesn’t know for how many hours he slept, but he suddenly was woken up by the sound of a key in the lock.
Soon, he heard the door opening, and closing after some seconds. Sangwon gathered his remaining strength and sat in the bed, his eyes half closed.
He had been waiting in the dark for a few minutes when the door of the room opened slowly.
The light ray from the corridor illuminated his face, and he smiled. Leo was standing in the door frame.
-Awon…I’m sorry, I woke you up.
He entered the room and approached the bed.
-It’s okay Rio, I’m happy you’re home.
Sangwon didn’t asked the reason of the late arrival of his boyfriend to their shared home. Probably a last minute appointment that was added to his schedule, like always.
As Leo was putting himself in the bed, he noticed the plush, still locked in Sangwon’s arm, and chuckled.
—Are you hugging my plush now baby ?
Sangwon smacked lightly his chest, which made Leo laugh.
-I missed you…
Leo opened his arms and Sangwon rushed in it. The younger snuggled against Leo’s chest, while Leo was stroking his hair.
-Wanna go back to sleep Awon ?
"Awon" hummed and let go of his boyfriend. He layed down again, just like some time ago, showing his back to Leo, who immediately understood what he was asking for.
Leo layed next to him, his chest resting against Sangwon’s back. He wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s body, pulling him closer, and let his head slide in the root of his neck.
Sangwon sighed, from satisfaction this time.
-So comfy…
Leo chuckled, and moved just enough to place a kiss on Sangwon’s cheek before returning to the same position. And Sangwon was relieved they were in the dark otherwise he would have been teased for the way his cheeks were burning up.
-I love you Rio.
"Rio" tightened his grip around him.
-I love you too my Awon, for eternity.
And just like that, they both fell asleep, happier than ever, in their shared home, filled by their shared memories.
