Itoshi Rin had always disliked Valentine’s Day.
Actually, she hated it.
If it were a holiday then she’d hate it less but no, it’s just a stupid day to confess your love to your beloved.
Sure, getting chocolates was nice and all, she was a sweet tooth in the first place but then she’d have to give them something in return for white-day!
There was absolutely no way that she’d be spending money on chocolates that weren’t for her and herself!
Last year, she got a lot of chocolates, from classmates, seniors, heck even neighbors!
And just like always she’d decline and return them all.
Although, this Valentines, somebody, her secret admirer had given her a love letter to meet after school, under the confession tree.
“Dear Rin,
I like you. I think you know that by now. Although, something you don’t know is who I am.
Meet me under the cherry tree behind the school at 5 PM.
I want to confess properly.
- Your future love. “
Future love her ass! Most people were huge wimps and end up backing out last minute when they ask to meet up with her! That’s another huge reason on why she absolutely hates valentines!
Although, some say that; “whoever confesses under the tree will always be accepted” and it seems that her secret admirer had heard the saying and wanted to try their luck.
As if honestly! this man could try his luck whilst having a four leaf clover and she’d still decline him!
Finally she shoves the letter back into the terribly decorated envelope.
Honestly, she had to give it to this person. They were quite smart. Printing instead of writing it by themselves, this made it harder to find out who due to the fact that there was no special hand writing.
“Tch.”
She knew that she probably shouldn’t go but there was something about it that made her wanna go and see who this so-called secret admirer was.
Finally she gets up from her desk and lays on her bed, pulling the blanket up, snuggling in. At last she turns off the night light and goes to bed.

The sun woke her up, bright and early as always. It was February 14, Valentine’s Day. Honestly she couldn’t be more disgusted. She knew that she’d be seeing hell of a lot of confessions, whether it be classmate to classmate, senior to junior or even teacher to teacher!
Another heck of a reason to hate Valentine’s Day.
Finally she gets up from her bed and decides to wash her face before stretching a bit.
While doing so, she couldn’t help but think of the letter. She didn’t know why but she was quite curious on who her secret admirer would be. Sure, she’s had a lot but none of them had actually interested her like this one.
After stretching, she took a quick bath and put on her uniform as always. Finally, she goes down stairs to find her brother, Sae, waiting for her.
“Rin.”
“Nii-Chan..”
The two siblings sat, eating their breakfast in silence. Sure the two didn’t speak much but it was obvious that the both of them cared for each other more than anything in the world.
“Let’s go, Rin.”
“mhm!”
Just as Sae opens the door, he finds his so-called best friend and neighbor, Shidou Ryuusei, waiting outside, as always.
“Sae-Chan, RinRin! Let’s go!!” He waved excitedly
Rin hated valentines but she hated his guts even more.
As they walk to school, Shidou couldn’t help but brag about the amount of chocolates he’d likely receive this year.
“Y'know, I wonder if baby lashes here will finally find a boyfriend this year.” He wiggles his eyebrows, knowing full well what he’s doing.
“No.” Sae simply said, “She’s not allowed to date until she’s 30.” He pauses,
“And they have to have the potential to be the best striker in the world by my standards.” He said without missing a beat.
“Oho? Guess you're never getting a boyfriend then Rin-Chan!”
“Whatever.” She rolls her eyes at the sight. Like she cares about getting a boyfriend in the first place!

Finally they arrive at school and they part ways, going to each other's respective classroom. They were in their third year and she was a first year after all.
The first thing Rin saw when she got to her classroom was one of her classmates confessing to the other.
Her face scrunches in disgust.
Gosh, she really did hate valentines.
She then sat down on her desk to find yet another letter from her secret admirer.
“Will you come later today?”
It simply said.
This man was really desperate, wasn’t he?
She then hides it in the back pack and continues with her day.

The whole day couldn’t be described by any other word but disgusting.
The amount of people that actually had a crush on her was too much than she could handle. She didn’t even know the amount of times she’s received chocolates and declined confessions today.

Finally the day ends but she doesn’t leave just yet. She wanted– no, she needed to know who the heck her secret admirer was. She didn’t know why she was so worked up but she just was.
Finally the clock hits 4.55 and she’s already under the cherry tree.
At exactly 5, her secret admirer reveals himself and let’s say that it was the person she least expected.
“….” Rin, was she seeing things?! That can’t be who she thinks it might be right?!!!
“Rin, I like you.” The boy with spikey blonde hair and pink tips said
Wait, wait– hold on! Shidou fucking Ryusei liked her?! SHIDOU RYUSEI, I repeat! SHIDOU RYUSEI.
“what…?” Rin asked, shocked. There must be something with her ears. No fucking way that he likes her… right..? Right?!
Ryusei groaned and rubbed his temples “ughhh, did you not listen to what I was saying?” He asked, though Rin didn’t respond. “I like you, was that loud and clear enough for ya? I REALLY LIKE you.”
Rin stared at him, processing the words that he spoke of. She then looked at her hand and pinched herself.
That hurt. It was definitely not a dream nor her imagination– wait why would she even be imagining that he was confessing to her in the first place?!
“Sooo… date me?” He then suddenly pulled out a bouquet of flowers. They were terribly made, clearly he had hand made it himself.
They weren’t roses though. They were Allium flowers. “I thought these looked like explosions so I got these instead!” He pushed the magenta coloured flowers to her. “Made them myself, do you like it RinRin?”
First of all he did not just ask her to date him that casually! Second of all, No– well maybe she did like them a little– NOPE! Absolutely not!
“Wait, wait.. I’m processing. So you’re telling me that YOU like me?” She pushed the flowers away from her face, towards him.
Ryusei nodded. “And now you’re trying to ask me to be your girlfriend..? After everything you’ve done..?” She said
When Rin mentioned what he had done in the past he couldn’t help but groan in frustration. “Look, I’m sorry about your nose, okay? I didn’t mean to kick the ball with that much strength and break your nose.” He apologized and paused for a second before continuing
“And sorry I stole the bento you made for your Sae-Chan too I guess… I was hungry and it looked really yummy okay!?”
“Wait a minute.. that was YOU?!” Rin asked. She was so embarrassed when her brother opened the box to find an empty meal!
“Oh wait.. you didn’t know I ate it..? Shit.” He looked away from the now fuming rin, quite embarrassed he just exposed himself.
“You shit head!” Rin clenched her knuckles. “wait that’s low-key kinda hot–“ he wiggles his eyebrows before getting cut off
“You two! It’s 5PM! Go home!” The teacher yelled at them from afar while pointing at the two.

And so here they were. Awkwardly walking side to side.
“So like–“ she cut him off before he could say anything further, “shut up.”
“That’s not an indefinite no, so I’m gonna take that as a yes!” He teased
Rin groaned in frustration. She never thought that THE SHIDOU RYUSEI would take an interest in her. Well.. she did, after all she was Sae’s little sister but she didn’t expect it to be this much!!
“Shut up, I’m not dating–“ Rin said before he cut her off “Too late, we’re dating now!” He said and then placed his arm around her shoulder.
“Take that hand off or I’ll kill you.” Rin threatened him as soon as she felt his hand on her shoulder
“Woah woah baby lashes, don’t need to be so feisty to your boyfriend!” He riled her up even more.
“I’ll fucking end you!” Right before she could punch him in the face he pulled away.
“Not today, princess!” He teased, sticking his tongue out before he got brutally kicked in the balls by her.
Deserved.
As Ryusei continued to wince in pain, Rin quickly fastened her pace and left him behind. Idiot. Who said she was just gonna let him tease her with no consequences? Fuck no.
“Rinrin!! Don’t go!!!” He yelled while holding his pants as Rin quickened her pace even more
“Idiot.” She thought to herself. She knew he was nothing but trouble! She should’ve never agreed to meet him!
