Chapter Text

"But daddy!" Porsha pleaded. "You need to get therapy at some point! You can't keep wallowing in self pity," Porsha watched her fathers expression change for a split second, almost like he was considering it, but it soon switched back to anger as he spoke without thinking "I am NOT going to a therapist. Therapy is for the weak, and as you might already know, I am not weak!"

Jerry had walked in a few moments earlier with the coffee Jimmy had asked for about twenty minutes ago. Porsha had gotten tired of her fathers attitude so she stomped out of the office, accidentally bumping into Jerry which made him topple over and spill the coffee all over himself. "ah!" Jerry let out an unintelligible yelp as fresh hot coffee got spilled all over him, ruining his clothes and leaving his fur soaked. Porsha hadn't noticed she knocked over Jerry as she kept walking, muttering angry slurs under her breath. Jimmy was staring at Jerry as if expecting something which made the feline feel self conscious. "I-I'm so sorry Mr. Crystal! I'll go get you another one right away!" Jerry ran off to go get Jimmy another coffee as soon as possible, a small puddle of coffee that missed Jerry still on the floor, but it was nothing janitors couldn't fix.

Soon enough, Jerry ran back in, perfectly balancing the coffee in his paws. The drink looked as big as the cats fluffy head, and it was no surprise that Jerry's fur was still dripping with, now lukewarm, coffee from when Porsha accidentally made him fall. Jerry ran, which looked more like a waddle with his stubby legs, over to Jimmy, still holding the large coffee he requested. "Here you go Mr. Crystal! I apologize for the spill, I'll get somebody to clean it up immediately!" Before Jimmy could stop the cat, he was already out the door to go look for a janitor to clean the mess he accidentally made.

Jimmy looked at the hot coffee, steam creeping out of the small hole in the lid. The steam released a faint, but sweet scent that filled the office. It cleared the Arctic wolf's mind for a few moments before Jerry ran back in with a Janitor carrying a mop that looked as if it had seen better days. Jerry walked back over the stand beside Jimmy's desk where he usually stood when he's doing not anything at the moment. The cat looked out of breath, his small, and plump, body not used to running so far in such a big office building. His fur is still damp, his magenta suit he usually wears is ruined by the earlier spill.

Jimmy took a sip of the coffee. He was impressed nonetheless, the coffee tasted bittersweet and there was a faint caramel aftertaste. The order he had said to Jimmy was complicated and the feline got it just right. Now he knew who to send out to get him coffee every morning because this tasted hell of a lot better than whatever junk the other employees bring him that tastes like absolute garbage.

Jimmy looked down at Jerry. He'd never noticed how fluffy the cat's tail was until now, he had to use all the self control he had left to refrain from touching it. The way it flicked every time a faint noise echoed throughout the spacious office, the way it nearly touched the ground when rested, the way- Jimmy realized he was getting lost in thought and forgot that Jerry was still damp from coffee and nearly reeked of it. He looked back at his now empty coffee cup and ordered Jerry to go throw it away in a nearby bin since the small one that sat on the other side of the desk was nearly full of junk papers that he crumpled up in anger when he had one of his "episodes" if you can even call them that. He held the cup out to the feline, to which Jerry immediately took to go throw away, running out of the office once again, leaving Jimmy alone for a few minutes until he returned shortly.

Jimmy decided to use this time to look through the piles of papers on his desk, he didn't see anything that was due in the next few weeks, but he did find more junk papers he forgot to throw away so he crumpled them and tossed them in the bin meant for papers by his desk. He might be cold, but he wasn't heartless. I mean, at least he recycled...sort of.

Jerry was scurrying around the building, trying to find a trashcan. He has saw so many walking to Mr. Crystals office, and now it's like they've all disappeared! he couldn't help but think about where they had gone. He had to dodge animals triple his size to avoid getting squashed into a pancake, and he ended up tripping over his own legs at times which didn't help since it was rush hour so a lot of animals were either arriving, leaving, or going on break so that made the hallways packed. The cat saw a wall of animals quadruple his size come at him like a wall and he didn't process it until he got trampled along with other animals around his size by the much larger animals. "How ignorant do you have to be to not be aware of your surroundings!" Jerry mutter under his breath. Today was going to be a rough day. Jerry moved through the hallways as fast as he could, which wasn't very fast since he was basically a fat cat with tiny legs so he couldn't go very fast.

Jerry looked like an idiot running around like a confused deer with headlights coming straight for them, he still had the empty coffee cup in both his hands since only one hand was too small to carry a large coffee normally. He was running down multiple hallways, not knowing where he was going anymore, all he was concerned about was finding a trashcan, but the giant animals around him weren't making it much easier.

Eventually, he found a trashcan tucked in the corner of the building on the opposite side of where Mr. Crystals office was. He threw away the cup, barely being able to reach the top of the large trashcan. Now all he had to do was get back to his boss's office. He started walking forward, the hallways clearing up slightly so he didn't get trampled, again, which was good. The only problem was that he kept tripping over his stubby legs, of how he hated being short. The humiliation was starting to get to him since he had seen quite a few animals turn to look at him every time he fell. And it didn't help that he had to take an elevator all the way up to the top floor just to get back to his boss's office.

Jimmy watched as Jerry fell while entering his office. The cat looked like he just ran a marathon with his fur messy and his out-of-breath gasping. It was often that Jerry fell. Jimmy knew it was hard to walk, let alone run with such small legs, but he couldn't help but smile every time Jerry fell because he always face-plants when he falls. Jerry pulled himself off the ground before walking over to sit by Jimmy's office chair, seemingly waiting to do something. The cat seemed tired, all the running and dodging other animals had drained the felines energy, but he still emitted a calming, but positive energy. It was just something the cat brought naturally.

Without thinking Jimmy leaned down and scratched behind Jerry's ears. The cat was startled at first, but leaned into the touch, enjoying the feeling of his boss's claws scratching his head was a delightful feeling. The head scratching didn't last long until Jimmy realized how late it was. The sun had set about thirty minutes ago and the office was nearly empty besides the Janitors that work the night shift or animals finishing up work.

Jimmy stood up from his office chair before looking back to see if Jerry stood up as well, to which he did. Jimmy then started moving down the hallway at a fast pace, Jerry struggling to keep up with Mr. Crystals fast pace. The cat ran as fast as he could to get in the elevator  before it closed. He ran in, standing beside Jimmy, who was looking down at him with a look close to pity. The man felt sympathetic to the short cat in front of him. Jerry could feel his boss's gaze on him and he felt embarrassed with a faint blush creeping onto his face, which was luckily covered by his thick fur.

The Elevator starts to go downward, eventually opening with a semi loud ding. The two walk out of the building, greeted with his personal limousine that comes with a personal driver. Jerry rushes to open the door for Jimmy, barely reaching the door handle, but he manages to open it. Jimmy steps into the spacious car with Jerry following soon after. Jerry sits next to Jimmy, waiting to assist his every need since that's his job as his personal assistant. The cat could see that the man next to him was tired and the estate was about forty minutes away. about ten minutes in Jimmy mutters under his breath "Jerry, tell the driver to go faster. I'm exhausted," Jerry nodded and walked up to the small window that allowed them to see the driver. "The boss wants you to go faster," Jerry said in the most intimidating voice he could muster, but he just sounded like a cat trying to assert dominance. The driver obliges and speeds up, making Jerry go toppling backwards which ends up with him between his boss's legs.

The cat's face heats up, not wanting to move in case that pisses off Jimmy even more. The wolf had also blushed, feeling the feline fur rub against the inside of his thighs was a pleasant feeling. He moved his hands to rest on Jerry's shoulders, keeping him in that spot until they arrived at the Crystal estate which was still about twenty eight minutes away. He had always felt better when Jerry was around. It was like the cat had some type of spell to make all the animals he's around get stripped of their worries and fears. There was just something about the fat cat that lured him in. That was partly why he had made him his personal assistant. He also can't help but think that Jerry would make a darn good therapy animal.
