“God, are you an egotistical bastard, Stark!” sneered Steve Rogers.
“I said this many times before, Rogers, and surely you would know just because of your relationship with my father, but they were married. Do not insult me with a term that does not apply. It only shows your stupidity, Rogers,” replied Anthony Stark swiftly.
“Not going to comment on egoistical?” snapped back Rogers.
Anthony shrugged. “I cannot argue with something that is true.”
“Well, I know this certainly is not what I had imagined for a team,” commented Loki with an amused smirk, cutting off Rogers from saying something again.
“Thank Stark for being an asshole and not telling us about ULTRON,” said Clint Barton while pointing at Anthony with his thumb.
“Not telling you about ULTRON?” repeated Anthony with a clearly faked smile. “How about we talk about you guys using my money to find Bucky Barnes, the guy that killed my parents, just because Stevie Rogers over there wanted to fuck him.”
Roger's face instantly turned red from Anthony's last sentence. Perhaps Rogers actually did want to do exactly that. “I don't,” Rogers defended with a quiet mutter.
Meanwhile, The Widow of many names cleared her throat, trying to bring it back to the reason why the meeting was called in the first place.
“As if you didn't kill my parents first, Stark!” yelled Wanda Maximoff, cutting off the Widow.
“I was a weapons manufacturer. I built weapons, that was my only job. I frankly don't even know who was buying them, as Stane was in charge of that during the time. So blame Stane if you want to blame someone for something that ridiculous,” sighed Anthony, as if he said this explanation multiple times, and that was likely the truth.
“So my family got killed because you were lazy,” accused Maximoff as red magic particles swirled her.
Anthony blinked a few times at Maximoff. “No, because Stane did his job wrong. I am merely the creator, not the seller. Stane is the seller. Plus, I doubt the bomb was something I built, therefore a counterfeit. My weapons only say ‘Stark’, not ‘Stark Industries',” hummed Anthony. “If I didn't even build it, then it is definitely not my fault at all.”
Maximoff gritted her teeth and stomped a few times.
“Anyways, what now?” asked Anthony to the whole room.
“Shall we discuss what of the remaining Asgard and how to defend Midgard against the Mad Titan?” politely replied Loki, trying to redirect the meeting to what it was before.
“Where even is Thor for this?” snapped the Hawk, clearly not wanting to be in a room with Loki.
“My brother sent me here for this, I do not wish to disappoint him on this,” replied Loki. Thor practically begged him to go so that he could spend time with his mortal, Jane Foster. Considering how Anthony was here, Loki didn't mind too much.
“You already are,” muttered the Hawk under his breath.
Loki merely hummed at the insult. “Your wife must be disappointed with you too, Hawk.”
The Hawk twitched his eyes for a split second. “Nevermind, you guys deal with him.” The Hawks spat out the last word, before leaving entirely.
“Oh look at what Stark's guest did,” hissed Maximoff.
“The Hawks insulted me first. It is only fair I do so back,” Loki glared at the witch that cursed Anthony to have recurring nightmares to the point of creating ULTRON in the first place.
Honestly, Loki did not understand why Rogers accepted a HYDRA member, people that Rogers had promised to destroy, to be an Avenger. Loki and Anthony both thought Rogers was being under a mind spell as well. To both of their surprises, when Loki checked, there was not a single trace in his mind. The Hawk, and even the Widow had more traces than Rogers.
“And you attacked New York with an alien invasion, Loki,” sternly reminded Rogers.
“Even so, we have a bigger threat, Steve,” sighed the Widow. Rogers returned a look, offended that the Widow sided with Anthony and Loki.
“Plus, I only attacked under the demand of the Mad Titan,” added Loki briskly, not really trying to be teminded of the torture during his time in the hands of the Mad Titan.
“Yes, that means our bad guy here is actually not the true bad guy,” said Anthony, whiel patting Loki on the shoulder.
“We can hear and interpret things, Stark,” muttered Maximoff.
“And you still seem to not get that Anthony had nothing to do with the death of your family,” blurted out Loki, before stopping himself.
The Widow crossed her arms, while narrowing her eyes. He looked between Loki and Anthony a couple times. “I do believe that sleeping with the God of Lies is a bad idea, Stark,” warned the Widow.
Loki mentally rolled his eyes. It wasn't a surprise she gotten the idea of Anthony and he sleeping together. It was in fact quite logical considering both of their statuses.
Anthony, in return, frowned at her. “Who I sleep is none of your business, Widow.”
Rogers gagged. “Really, sleeping with the enemy?”
“What is the Winter Soldier then?” replied Anthony with a smirk.
“A mind controlled HYDRA tool,” hissed Rogers.
“And you are sleeping with him, are you not?” deadpanned Anthony.
“Bucky is not the Winter Soldier,” frowned Rogers.
Anthony hummed. “And Loki is not the one who wants to invade and take over Earth, also known as Midgard.”
Roger seemed to go speechless after that, thankfully.
“Anyways, we should set up a building for the Asguardians,” smiled Anthony. “And yes, because I'm the only one with money here, I will set that up.”
“Must you bring your wealth up, Stark?” Maximoff asked.
“What? Are you jealous?” Anthony had the most polite smile Loki had seen in a while.
“Stark,” hissed the Widow, glaring at Anthony. “Just because your ego is worse than a god's, does not mean people are jealous of you.” The Widow practically spat out each word.
Loki couldn't help but chuckle a few times at that irony. Loki could see Anthony barely containing laughter too. But at everyone else's dumbfounded look, Anthony bursted into laughter as well.
“Are we missing something?” asked Rogers, probably asking the question for all of them.
Loki cleared his throat a few times before returning his expression to a diplomatic one. Loki turned to Anthony and asked, “Did you not tell them, Anthony?”
Anthony continued to laugh, while shaking his head. “Of course not. They already think Earth can barely hold my ego. If I did, nobody would believe me, just merely think my ego is getting bigger than before.” Anthony waved his hands. “This whole situation didn't have me revealing that.”
“Ah,” escaped Loki's mouth before he could say anything. Mortals are sometimes stupid, overly so.
“Revealing what?” asked Maximoff.
“That you're a bitch,” responded Anthony, almost immediately.
“How dare you!” jumped in Rogers, looking even more offended than Maximoff herself.
“What is it truly, Stark?” interrupted the Widow.
Anthony smiled. “That I am a god,” he answered truthfully.
“Egoistical as fuck, Stark is what you are,” replied Maximoff, rolling her eyes.
The Widow raised her left eyebrow at that. “Is that so? Of what then?”
“God of Advancement, of course,” replied Loki, having to explain to Odin, Frigga, and mostly the entirety of Asgard of an appearance of a new god that went unregistered on Midgard, before the destruction of it, of course.
“I suppose Stark's ego is on par with the gods then,” commented the Widow, after an extensive amount of silence.
“It’s actually less,” Loki hummed. “Thor has told you about his little adventures, correct?”
Everyone in the room, except for Loki and Anthony, all nod.
“His storytelling is his bragging,” deadpanned Loki. “A fifth of the time, he takes the achievements of others, and the other four fifths, his achievements are quite normal for gods. As the crown prince of Asgard, he often just is assumed to have the achievement without anyone verifying, after all.”
Anthony shook his head, suppressing a smile, likely knowing Loki was just casually insulting his brother because Loki didn’t wish to be here.
“Ah, that explains much,” muttered the Widow.
Both Maximoff and Rogers looked absolutely shocked, however.
