Work Text:

Su-ho put his arms around Si-eun. His hands lay on Si-eun's lower back, pulling him closer. "Come to the party, please," Su-ho said, moving his hands so they were resting on the smaller boy's hips.

"I can't. I have to study," Si-eun said, his face flushed, taking a step back. Su-ho pulled him forward, causing the boy to stumble forward and push his hands onto Su-ho's chest. "You good?" Su-ho asked, holding Si-eun's hips tighter to steady his balance.

"Mhm," Si-eun said, nodding and moving his hand from Su-ho's chest. "You have fun, I'm going to my room," Si-eun said, so Su-ho let go of his waist. "Please come," Su-ho said, staring at Si-eun for a little before adding, "For me?"

Si-eun shook his head and entered his room, closing the door behind him. He started working, drowning out all his thoughts in the equations in front of him, when he got a call. He answered the call."Hello?" Si-eun said voices from the other side of the phone rang into his ear.

"Oh," Si-eun said. "I'm sorry for your loss," He said, the tears already welling up in his eyes. "Okay, yeah, bye," He hung up and dialed another number, calling Su-ho. "Su-ho-ya," he said when nobody picked up.

"Why would you do that, Su-ho, you know I can't live without you," Si-eun said, the tears falling to his chin and dripping onto the paper that lay on his desk. "You asked me to come with you. Why didn't I come? Su-ho-ya, I'm sorry." Si-eun put the phone on his desk. "You asked me to go for you? Why didn't I? I would do anything for you, Su-ho, literally anything. You don't understand Su-ho, please, please don't die, please." Si-eun heard a knock on his door. He quickly hung up the phone, wiped his eyes, and opened the door to see Beom-seok standing at the door with a sinister smile on his face.

"It was you?" Si-eun in a small voice. "No," Beom-seok said in a taunting tone. "How is poor little Su-ho doing anyway?" Beom-seok asked. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" Si-eun said.

"Come on, it's not that serious," Beom-seok said. "I'll apologize, and this can all be done; we can go back to normal," He added. "I don't know. It's hard for a dead man to accept apologies," Si-eun said, slamming the door in Beom-seok's face, then opening his phone to see a text from Su-ho's grandma. Can you speak at the funeral? It read.

Si-eun didn't respond and called his mom, "Can I come live with you for a while?" He asked her, "Of course, honey," she said on the other side. "Why, what's going on?" She asked. "Nothing, I'll come on Friday," Si-eun said, packing his bags and placing them to the side of his room. Tomorrow, he'd confront anyone who hurt Su-ho.

Then Friday, he'd start over, keeping to himself completely this time; he didn't need pain anymore. He looked at the message from Su-ho's Grandma one more time before blocking her. He didn't need connections to the pain. Beom-seok knocked on his door hard. "Si-eun, what do you mean by dead?" Beom-seok yelled.

Si-eun ignored him. I'll deal with everything tomorrow, he thought. Once I'm gone, the pain will be gone too. That was the last thought he had before he closed his eyes, though he didn't sleep much that night. Si-eun would find that wasn't the case, but hey, sooner or later, he would finally be ok.
