If you asked Will Byers what he was doing, he would probably would not have an answer. Because he really didn't have an answer. After all the shit that went down with mind flayer, he thought he would finally catch a break but, no. Life is still throwing shit at him. He was already done with everything. Most of all, he was done with forgiving and forgetting things. He would say that might be due to Max's influence. Lately, his friends have been too busy for him, so he decided to start hanging out with Max, since her and Lucas' recent break up. She needed company, but El was too busy with dating Mike. When will noticed that, he decided to help his friend.
Anyway, that is not the point. The point is he is done with everyone. He was done being the bigger person. He told Max everything. Even the fact that he is gay (maybe).They were just talking. Random stuff, when Max asked him, "So... someone you like? Want me to wingwoman you or something? Is there a girl? I might know her."
Will laughed and said,"I don't even know if I like girls like that."
With that he froze, waiting for the insults and disgusted looks.
"Oh", She said, and will thought, 'This is it. Now I am going to lose the only remaining friend who wants to hang out-'
Then, "Me too Will, I am the same. I-I don't like boys. Not how I am supposed to."She confessed.
Eyes widen, Will turned to her and hugged her. Now, they regularly talk about their struggles and their crushes. When he told Max he liked Mike, she had made a face and said,"You have horrible taste." and that was it. Then she confessed that she liked El, and Will returned the favour by saying, "Eww! Not my sister Max!"
On another one of such occasion Will and Max, were discussing the bullying they would face now they were starting high school. When suddenly Max sit up straight and turned to him, "What if we pretend we like each other?"
"What like fake dating?", Will asked.
"Yeah, then, we don't have to worry about the bullying and we can hide our feelings too. I mean I am pretty sure the others won't understand this. So, We can just fake date. We can have like a whole operation for this." Max explained.
Will agreed and said, "Let's, call it... Operation Madwise! Because you know, I am Will the Wise and you are Mad max. I think this would work."
"Ok, let's start with just casual flirting in front of others. So, we can form a foundation of our relationship, then we can slowly make people think that we are into each other, and at last start dating!"
"Hell yeah! This would be so fun! We can later laugh at their faces when we are alone." Will added.
Max blink|d and questioned, "Since when did you start enjoying fucking with others."
"You are just rubbing of off me." Will said with a shit-eating grin.

Dustin thought he was hallucinating when he saw Will and Max whispering and giggling. He turned to Lucas, who was sitting next to him and said, "You seeing what I am seeing?" And Lucas just nodded wordlessly, staring at them.
He felt someone tap his shoulder, he turned to find it was Mike, who said,"Hey, I think I am high or something. I think I just saw Will and Max giggling."
Dustin replied in the same disbelieving tone,"No, I also saw that."
They all were gathered at Mike's basement hanging out like usual. Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will and even the girls were present this time. Usually they were all too busy to hang out like this. Dustin has been, hanging out with Steve and Robin, while Lucas was out with his other friends. Mike and El were having some alone time and more often then not, nowadays Will and Max were always together. Dustin was a little guilty about abandoning his friends like this but he just liked hanging out with Robin and Steve. His thoughts were interrupted by a loud laugh from Will. Will, who rarely even spoke, was currently laughing so hard that tears were streaming down his face.
"Whatever are you laughing at so hard?", Mike questioned.
"Nothing!",Will and Max exclaimed in unison, matching grins on their face.
"Friends don't lie", Mike insisted.
"Yeah, Micheal, but friends keep secrets. ", Max retorted, her smile melting in a scowl.
And, the topic was dropped. But, every now and then, you can hear loud laughter and giggles errupting from the pair. The rest of the time was spent like like this.
On their way home, Dustin turned to Lucas and asked, "What was that?"
"On idea dude. But, I approve if they decide to date. I mean yeah, me and Max were a thing, but I don't really feel that way about her. It is good to see them being happy. It is a long time since Will has laughed like that.", Lucas said.
"Yeah, he hasn't been the same after the whole upside down mess. It is good for him and her, also.", Dustin added.
With that they separated to go their own way.

After hanging out with the Party, Will was walking Max home. They were laughing about their friends' reactions.
"That was so hilarious! Holy shit! They faces!", Will exclaimed while holding his stomach laughing.
"Yeah! Did you see Mike's face when you laughed out loud. He was looking so pissed at us." ,Max said, agreeing to his statement.
They spent the majority of their laughing and mocking their friends.
"I have a surprise for you. It will help our plan, come over for lunch tomorrow.", Will said as they parted.
"Sure.", Max replied bemused.
With that Will, hugged Max and went home.
