Work Text:

Sugarfly yawned as she read over the pages in her book. Proper etiquette... Formal wear... Political terms...

She sighed as she sunk into her chair.

"Why does being a princess include so much studying..." she asked no one.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

"Sugarfly, may I come in?"

Sugarfly straightened up as she heard Salt Cellar’s voice.

“Come in,” Sugarfly answered.

Salt Cellar opened the door, stepping inside, plate in hand.

“What are those?” Sugarfly questioned.

“Well, it’s Valentine's Day. So I thought I could make you your favorite vanilla bark chocolate,” Salt Cellar explained.

“That’s so sweet of you. I could really use a snack,” Sugarfly smiled, fluttering over.

She picked up a heart shaped chocolate only for it to break in half.

Sugarfly looked down at the plate to see every heart shaped chocolate was broken in half.

"Why...?" Sugarfly asked softly, confused.

"I... had trouble getting them out of the mold," Salt Cellar admitted with flushed embarrassment.

Sugarfly chuckled as she bit into it.

"It's quite alright. It was sweet of you to make me these," Sugarfly smiled.

"How are your studies going?" Salt Cellar asked.

"They're going well, but their really tedious..." Sugarfly sighed.

"Why don't we sit and have a break?" Salt Cellar suggested.

"That sounds wonderful," Sugarfly agreed.

The two cookies sat on Sugarfly's bed, snacking on the broken chocolate hearts. While they may have been broken, they turned out quite sweet. A little to sweet for Salt Cellar. It's was almost sickeningly sweet.

So, she simply watched Sugarfly indulge herself on the chocolate. She looked so cute, smiling as she ate the sweets.

As she watched, she noticed some chocolate on Sugarfly's lips.

"Sugarfly, you missed some chocolate," Salt Cellar pointed out.

"I did?" Sugarfly asked before wiping her lips. "Did I get it?"

"No, it's-"

Sugarfly wiped her mouth again.

"What about now?"

"No-"

Sugarfly licked her lips.

"Now?"

"Just hold still."

Salt Cellar grabbed Sugarfly's face, holding the faerie's cheeks between her palms. She brought Sugarfly's face closer and tried wiping it off, but it still stuck.

"Stubborn chocolate..." Salt Cellar mumble, leaning closer and licking the chocolate off.

When she let go of Sugarfly's face, the girl's face was as red as a tomato.

"I-I... didn't expect you to be so forward. Let alone make the first move..." Sugarfly mumbled, covering her lips with her hand.

"What do you- woah!"

Salt Cellar fell back on the bed as Sugarfly pushed her down.

Before she could utter a word, she was met with Sugarfly's lips on her. They were gentle and very soft. The kiss set of fireworks in Salt Cellar's brain as she kissed back.
