Work Text:
Rose never believed in the Scratching Hag until the witch herself reached inside Rose's head and filled it with shadows. Rose barely remembers the aftermath. For months she was a robot, mechanically pouring coffee and reciting her waitress script. Rusty's usual seat by the counter sat empty.
Worst was the guilt: she hurt Alan, drugged him, held him prisoner-
"I forgive you," whispers Alan, over and over, in her dreams. He gives her strength. And more that that, he gives her purpose: "You know the darkness now. You can help me fight it."
Oh, she'll fight. She'll make Alan proud.
