Work Text:
“Everyone online is talking about how beautiful she is.” The pout in Do Ha’s voice is clear even over the phone.
“Makes sense,” Jae Yeon says. “She’s an actress and model.”
“So you think she’s beautiful.”
Jae Yeon tries to fight a smile. He can vividly imagine his boyfriend, sprawled on the hotel bed, glaring at him through the phone as if they were side by side rather than in different countries.
“I guess.” Jae Yeon really should stop teasing him, but he can’t help himself. Even after four years together, Do Ha’s reactions were still too cute to pass up.
“Woah, how lucky is Mr Jae Yeon that he gets to work with her?” Do Ha’s tone couldn’t be less nonchalant if he tried. “Does the choreography have a lot of touching?”
“She does put me in a headlock at one point.”
“That’s it. I’m coming back” There’s a rushed ruffling noise. “The agency can say I have to leave due to injury.”
Jae Yeon huffs an exasperated laugh. “Do Ha, you’re being silly.”
“It’s not your boyfriend that’s spending a bunch of time with a hot celebrity.”
“You’re literally sharing a hotel room with a handsome guy.”
“My bandmates don’t count. We’re friends, and they know about us.”
That brings a smile to Jae Yeon's lips. Do Ha has come so far since they first met. Still, it doesn’t mean he won’t pass up an opportunity to poke at his boyfriend.
“So, you think he’s handsome.”
Do Ha scoffs, but doesn’t deny it. Jae Yeon doesn’t mind it. He’s just happy that Do Ha now has friends and a strong support system, which he couldn’t say a few years ago.
Over the last few years, Do Ha has grown so much as a person, and Jae Yeon is so proud of him. Still, Do Ha will always have that bratty, needy, clingy side to him - and although Jae Yeon will never say it out loud, he absolutely loves it.
“I miss you,” Do Ha eventually murmurs.
Jae Yeon has to close his eyes at the onslaught of cuteness, his smile threatening to cramp his cheeks. “I miss you too.” He pauses, an idea popping into his head. “When is your roommate coming back?”
“Not for a while. They went out drinking, but I didn’t feel like it.”
“Do you want to video call?”
“Do you miss my face that much?” Do Ha's smile is clear. “Or do you want me to do planks again to help me fall asleep? If that’s the case, I’ll pass.”
“Actually,” Jae Yeon drops his voice to a deep whisper, “I was thinking about a different type of exercise.”
He laughs as the line cuts and the video call request fills his screen.
