It's been a week since Amane, Ubuyashiki's wife, has brought that eighteen-year-old redhead and his little sister to the butterfly estate. Their family had been attacked one night and only those two survived and even though Nezuko kept crying the first few days because she knew something was wrong, being only two years old makes her mistake and forget a few things.
Aoi personally thinks it's her infant brain protecting her from the horror of losing almost her entire family. Now, the little girl treats her older brother like he's her mother and Tanjirou doesn't even make any attempts to correct her.
Now, even though Amane herself found the siblings, she requested help from one of the Pillars to get them to the butterfly estate safe and sound. Oyakata-sama chose Tomioka, the water Pillar, for that specific task not knowing that Tomioka would fall in love with Tanjirou almost right after meeting him.
Or perhaps he knew already; Aoi has heard that his family has the ability to foresee things normal people don't.
So far the water hashira hasn't been able to make his intentions clear, mostly because he doesn't quite know how to interact with people and Tanjirou is completely oblivious to any romantic feelings directed to him.
Because the sunshine, as everyone calls him now, is very popular among the Corps members; he seems to have the power to mesmerize most people with his kindness, pretty face and the adorable way he treats his little sister.
Aoi has lost count of the times he has found slayers and kakushi watching Tanjirou from afar as he rocks the little girl to sleep.
However, no matter how much they like him, they know that if that a Pillar is interested in him, they all should back off for their own safety.
Aoi likes him, not the way the others seem to, but she has already become friends with him; he's very hardworking and active in the estate: he's constantly helping anyone who needs it and doing chores without even complaining. Aoi has started to believe that he enjoys doing that kind of tasks.
Now, the only problem with having him around is that Tomioka goes to the butterfly estate every chance he gets, but after a few months he stops being the only one.
Shinobu is the second to fall in love; it only takes her a week to be completely wrapped around the redhead's pinkie, and her heart eyes and soft smile almost shock Aoi the first time she sees them.
Just when she's getting used to having two hashira acting like teenagers in love, and constantly fighting to get Tanjirou's attention, when he's not looking because he doesn't like to watch anyone argue or fight, the others meet the sunshine too.
And it goes as well as when the other two saw him for the first time.
Tokito and Kanroji meet Tanjirou when they end up in the butterfly estate after defeating two upper moons and the redhead goes to their shared room only to tell them he admires them for keeping innocent people safe.
Aoi rolls her eyes when she sees the expression on both their faces and doesn't surprise her when later they request her to have Tanjirou keeping them company while they recover. They consider each other rivals, but given the circumstances they decide to share him for the time being.
Uzui meets him when he comes to the estate to request two people to help him on a mission, and he surprises Aoi by outright telling Tanjirou that as soon as he comes back he'll make him his fourth wife.
But since the sunshine is still incredibly oblivious, he convinces huimself the sound hashira was only joking.
Iguro goes to the estate to meet him; probably because Kanroji told him about Tanjirou, and judging by his attitude before seeing him, Aoi wonders if he'll request a fight to win Kanroji's hand or something.
However, not even him seems to be immune to Tanjirou's charm because he folds right the moment the sunshine starts talking with Kaburamaru.
Because of course the sunshine also seems to understand and even have conversations with all kinds of creatures.
One day, Ubuyashiki sends Tanjirou to Himejima's estate to help the hashira with the slayers' training; he's not going to supervise or anything since he doesn't have experience fighting, but the sunshine is more than happy to feed the stone Pillar and the slayers around.
He comes back after the training is over, with Himejima at his side, who refused to let him come back alone, especially with Nezuko in his arms, and Aoi can tell that he's already in love with Tanjirou, just like the others.
Kyojuro and Sanemi meet him before a hashira meeting takes place and it's very fascinating to watch as two completely different people react to love at first sight.
The flame hashira is immediately in Tanjirou's space, introducing himself and offering some of the bentos he brought with him. He might not be the type to ask for Tanjirou's hand right then and there (like Uzui) but his eyes are not subtle at all. Aoi even hears him offering Tanjirou to meet his little brother, so Nezuko has someone to play with.
Sanemi looks like he's in shock; he's clearly pissed because Kyojuro is getting all of Tanjirou's attention, but he also doesn't want to make it obvious that the sunshine makes him feel vulnerable, but in a good way.
At some point he attempts to take the redhead and his littler sister away, but the other Pillars arrive, right on time to stop him.
Just with a few cryptic words and a few glances, all the hashira realize they're rivals for Tanjirou's affection while the redhead obliviously starts playing with Nezuko, who just woke up.
Aoi has the feeling that, no matter how much they all want Tanjrou for themselves, they're gonna end up sharing anyway. Maybe Ubuyashiki himself will suggest that kind of solution.
The slayers and the kakushi seem to realize that as well, because they start calling Tanjirou The Pillars' malewife even before he starts dating them.
Aoir rolls her eyes because she knows this nightmare has just begun.
