Work Text:
Katsuki pitched forwards with a shaky sneeze, and then buried his aching head in his sweaty, trembling hands. It’s not his fault he’s sick, it’s the stupid brat who sneezed on him while he was out on patrol’s fault.
He sniffled and leaned his head back against the couch. He’d had this miserable cold for the past day and a half, and he was done with it. For the majority of the day, he’d been curled up on the couch with a box of tissues and a thick blanket wrapped around his frame, because Izuku insisted on it before he had to leave for work.
He sniffled through the congestion and pulled a tissue out of the box, before he thickly blew his nose and groaned. Katsuki had had to resort to being a mouth breather.
He had put on shitty a TV show on in the background to keep his mind off of his irritating symptoms, but all it was doing was exacerbating his headache.
Katsuki sneezed again, and tipped over onto his side to burrow under the blankets. The pressure between his eyes was starting to hurt too much for his liking, and he wanted someone to cuddle with. He was feverish, sue him.
Stupid Deku had called out of work sick for him when he’d slept through his alarm, and now Katsuki was stuck at home with nothing to do and nowhere to be. He was bored out of his mind. So bored, that he considered calling his boyfriend to come home.
It was too out of character, honestly. Katsuki was frankly done with being awake, and he wanted the relief from his symptoms, so he poured himself a dose of NyQuil. If Deku came home and found him unconscious in bed, so be it.
Katsuki downed the NyQuil, and stumbled over to bed, before he flopped down in it and the lights in his head went out.
“-chan. Kacchan, baby, wake up,” Deku whispered, shaking Katsuki’s shoulder gently.
Katsuki blearily opened his eyes, and squinted up at his pretty , green haired boyfriend.
“‘Feelin’ sick ‘Zuku,” he mumbled, pulling his partner close for a hug before shutting his eyes again as his head throbbed dully.
”I know you do honey,” Izuku murmured, brushing Katsuki’s hair off of his forehead, wincing at the heat he felt, “but I need to take your temperature, think you can do that for me?”
”Shit, Deku,” Katsuki muttered cracking an eye open, seemingly worried, “‘m gonna get you sick.”
”S’fine, Kacchan. Just let me take your temp, ‘kay?”
”Don’ get too close,” he grumbled, before shutting his eyes again.
“You’re the one who hugged me, Kacchan,” Izuku chuckled, straightening up and moving off the bed. He fished out an old thermometer from somewhere deep in their bedside table.
”I’m gonna put this in your ear, s’that alright Kacchan?” Izuku asked softly.
Katsuki merely grunted in response, and turned over so his ear was facing Deku.
The green-haired man carefully brushed the blonde spikes from Katsuki’s ear, and slowly pushed the tip of the thermometer into his warm ear. He waited patiently, until it eventually beeped.
“Kats, you’re still feverish,” he frowned, looking at the reading, “you’re down to 100.5 though.”
The sick man didn’t bother to grace him with a response. Izuku checked again, and he realised that Katsuki had fallen asleep. He smiled softly to himself, and pressed a kiss to his boyfriend’s forehead.
“Sleep well, Kacchan.”
