Redemption & Peace (but why for us…)

Summary:

Giratina was (and proudly still is) a rebellious child. Not as much as before, Father’s chosen Faller had managed to tame its rage and now it floated along within The Distortion World, performing its new duty alone. Its temper tantrum over a century ago had shaked reality, and even after all this time the cracks still sprouted across the distorted plane.

…Perhaps its first true friend is why Giratina decided to interfere when it saw a brave human(?) stand against a monster with a size on par with its own siblings, all to save someone that it was able to sense, who was trapped within the hate-filled creature.

At least until it noticed the pair’s Souls.

In the final battle against Dark Beast Ganon, Giratina takes notice of the fight before it ends and interferes, desolating the incarnation in a single attack. Link & Zelda are then swept away along with the Renegade Pokèmon, scarred & scared in more ways than one.

Chapter 1: Interference

Chapter Text

Giratina purposefully drifted along the seemingly endless expanse of its former prison.

It had been free of their confinement long ago, but still traveled through the world’s reflection from time to time on its own terms.

They were (and proudly still are) a rebellious child. Not as much as they were before, thankfully. Father’s chosen Faller had managed to tame its rage and now it floated along within The Distortion World at ease, performing its new duty mostly alone. The rebelliousness had shifted to a more mischievous nature like one of its sibling's first attempts at creation, which was the prime example why such things were heavily monitored when the creature became Unbound and nearly erased a part of the world.

Not that Giratina could ‘play the blame game’ as it was called in this time. Its temper tantrum from over a century ago had also shaken and quaked reality, and nearly destroyed it.

Even after all this time the cracks which had formed still sprouted across the distorted plane they were currently traveling. While the task itself was partly duty as this realm was its domain, and partly punishment for its transgressions against its Creator & Father.

It sensed a foul odor on the other side of the tear, but before Giratina could slam the metaphorical door shut, they had sensed something…almost pleasant on the other end. Faint as it was, barely put up a fight against the horrid stench, but…maybe they should take a look inside?

Its younger siblings had yelled at them for doing such things in the past, every portal that piqued their interest hadn’t had anything too severe.

…Except the one time where a crack led to a place that could only be described as a Colored Void. Giratina had sensed Dragon Type Energy flowing out of the dimensional hole, popped their head inside for a few seconds, then immediately scrambled back to quickly close it.

Thankfully the 2 inside weren’t aggressive, just extremely territorial.

(The sheer terror that went through their ghostly body when the duo ripped open the fracture seconds after it was closed, followed by the pair of Dragons' presence leaking out enough that their Father had sensed them, and what followed that was an absolute headache it didn’t ever wish to experience again.)

Taking 2 of its tendrils on both sides of the rift, the Third of the Creation Trio pulled apart the gateway with relative ease. Letting the image of the crack’s destination fade into view, what Giratina found on the other side was…interesting at least.

There was what seemed to be a brave human(?) standing against a monster the size on par with its own siblings. A foolish endeavor, if it were not for the weapons the being had on them.

All to save someone trapped within the creature.

The Lord of the Distortion World paused. Thinking back to when Acreus’s chosen Faller went against it to save the world, when they had every right to let it crumble. “…”

The participants of the fight had yet to notice the portal–and in turn itself,–and quickly dived into the beast's shadow. It’s preferred method to stay hidden, while it would be able to better assess the situation in peace.

That was a horrible mistake to assume so, as a shadow can tell someone a lot about whatever is casting it. How it was made, where it’s been, and even traces of who/what has touched it. In the event of the shadow belonging to something that’s alive, you can sense vague emotions that the origin point is feeling.

When you enter a shadow of a Sentient Being however–

‘Death! Murder! Hate! Rage!’ …You can hear surface level thoughts, and yet despite all the malice contained within the creature–‘Hyrule shall burn!’–there was one message that shone through them all. ‘Kill the BOY!’ Darkened so much by the hatred, yet somehow barely coherent enough that Giratina could sense the faint power of a Godly entity behind the words. MY HATE NEVER PERISHES! IT IS BORN ANEW IN A CYCLE WITH NO END!’

‘I WILL RISE AGAIN!!!’

That wasn’t normal, not in the slightest amounts of normalcy,–espesailly since it could tell that it wasn’t the full thought a the blinding rage smeared over the words–as the phrase repeated itself countless times before the Child of Arceus pulled back the mental probe.

If the God that made the monstrosity was still alive, the link between Beast and Divine would have been noticeable. As it stood, the creature was just lingering power that has slowly grown into near perfect sentience or–Father forbid–Sapience.

Taking a breath that they didn’t need, but helped steady itself back to reality, Giratina got ready to latch onto the thing's tail with its Tendril-Wings. Such a monster needed to be put down now.

… So Giratina had decided to act, as the God or Gods of this world seemingly did nothing.

Rising out of the Parasite’s shadow as it turned toward the sun of this world, taking a mental note that the monster's power was changing the light given off into a blood red. Broadcasted its pure thoughts toward the monstrosity. “You, [Abomination of Hate/Disgusting creature/Muk-like Lechonk/PARASITE]. [Prepare for/Submit to/Accept] your [end/death/eternal sleep]...”

A roar of confusion quickly turned into defiance from the beast as it turned around to face the Renegade Pokemon, who was charging up its Signature Move with the Strong Style technique. Before the monster began powering up an attack that looked similar to a Hyper Beam.

Futile, but was a bit amusing none the less. They floated back, vanished into shadows that quickly shifted to the back of the creature, and–“[BEGONE/PERISH/GOOD NIGHT]!”–slashed the monstrosity almost cleanly in half.

As the beast slowly disintegrated with a quieting roar and the power radiating off the creature's former shell dissipated into the ground like water, Giratina could tell that it wasn’t dead. The strong string of thought that was ‘It rising again’ seemed to be true after all… For now, at least.

The Lord of the Distortion world looked at one of the human-like beings on the ground and rushed over to the other who was trapped inside the creature moments prior, before turning itself back toward the rift–which was thankfully still open. It was about to fly through and close the gateway, when it felt something… odd.

Taking a glance back at the duo, Giratina tilted its head at the peculiar sight of the previously exhausted human(?) that was now shining what felt to be Divine light. Similar to the Blinding One of Alola.

It reached out their senses while the two were only on guard, feeling their physical strength, energy levels, Aura– “!” –before its eyes slightly widened in shock.

The pair’s very Souls were Immortal.

Now, such a dangerous thing almost never happens naturally, so most likely a native God/Goddess of some sort must have done it. The process isn’t subtle either. Every critical Legend back home was able to sense the Ultimate Weapon firing in what was now known as Kalos that unintentionally made a Pokemon immortal. More importantly, what Giratina’s Father had done to the mortal king who fired the cursed thing in the first place.

Yet even they hadn’t become immune to time, for that would be too cruel a fate for their Creator to give even for the desolation he caused. If it was correct with the mortal perception of time passing, then the old fool was nearing the end of his punishment.

These two…children however essentially had their souls locked. Most of the vital Pokémon to the planet's existence had their own locked, but it also included their minds so they would remember their duties and relations with the others. For in the event of one of them perishing physically, they would return. Its own siblings had their souls locked as well, but that had been a part of them from the start of their creation.

Narrowing its eyes to concentrate, it was able to feel whispers of other souls on one of the two, those who had already passed. An interesting thing to note however was three of the four were struggling to stay threaded to the still alive body, while the remaining felt content with fading away.

…Surely they wouldn’t mind being removed from this definitely desolated land, right? It had vanquished the strongest creature on this mortal plane, and the pair did interest them enough to be a curiosity. The Wings of Death would likely be intrigued as well, another thing to keep in mind while pleading its choice of decision.

Besides, they would need to bring back something to justify leaving the rift open instead of just closing it after what happened with the last headache inducing time.

Gathering on some of its power, the Renegade Pokemon picked both human-like beings up by mentally wrapping them from above their midsections while being below what it was sure were arms. They weren’t used to using Psychic Energy, but they had more finesse with the Type than one of their siblings.

The superiority it had with Ghost Energy due to its own typing however allowed it to put pressure on the threads that were slowly fading away, even the one which was doing nothing. There was a faint sense of shock and annoyance from the tether, followed by amusement from the remaining three.

Giratina watched on as the sword wielding child raised their hand back to grab the weapon upon their back. Amusing, it was. Considering the blade had seemed to sense their presence and almost appeared to quiver. Maybe it was made similar to those of the Aegislash line?

It thought it should probably try and defuse the building tension before, it heard one of them make a strange sound that momentarily made all three pause. It looked down at the one who made the noise . It saw their power curl around some strange fleshy orbs on the Longer Haired humans(?) chest, the beings face bright red as they futilely tore at the energy with what it believed to be hands?

…Was it a sensitive spot for some humans, maybe? The other one didn’t seem to squirm in the same way, though they did seem to be worried and tinted red themselves before looking away…

The Renegade Pokemon slowly shifted their Psychic power down lower to be below the strange flesh-balls. Though there were a few smaller squeaks that made it out of the human-like mouth during the process as the redness faded from its face.

With the tension seemingly broken, the first thing it tried to do so the pair may calm down further was lowering its face to the ground, judging by the steps back from the female, it seems to have failed.

Giratina had then extended a sliver of its power toward the duo to try and communicate.

“[Hello/Greetings/Manditory Introductions], [don’t worry/it is alright/I won’t harm you], I [want/wish] to [bring/show/temporarily kidnap] you to [Father/Creator/The Alpha Pokémon].”

A bit fragmented, but given how they only appeared to be on the verge of passing out, (the one with the weapon still miraculously held on to it,) they figured it was a successful first attempt at speaking aloud in front of mortals.

The last time it had tried to do so with more strength, it drove the recipient mad with delusions of grandeur. Which was also followed with restless sleep, and a strange fixation on the back up Elemental Tablets.

…Though, maybe their near-unique Souls had something to do with it as well.

As they carried the pair toward the rift, it could feel Light pouring down on them. Not the one of its creator, but likely the sole one or one of many this world had as a watcher. The Pressure felt was great and mighty, almost the opposite of the abomination it had vaporised but way stronger. The feeling dragged it down for a few seconds before it was able to readjust, nearly losing its mental grip on the two it was holding. The Divine Being was not happy, and when it tightened its grip on the two in its hold, the feeling had worsened.

The Divine Authority of this world wanted both of them.

“...” It would not let them, not until their curiosity was satisfied.

Drawing on more of its power, the link it held to the Distortion World was pulled upon, and feeling the invisible weight on itself lessen, quickly flew up into the Gateway with its passengers still tightly held in the grasp of Physic Type Energy.

The light from the other side of the gate shined brightly, as the nearly knocked out pair began slowly floating back where it dragged them. In a split second decision, Giratina grabbed onto the rift with its six Tendril-Wings and forcefully closed the portal. It made sure to take note of exactly where the gateway was, to ease opening the hole in space should its Creator and siblings wished them to be sent back.

The Godly force had fought back with impressive effort that made it worry for a moment, but considering that the Renegade Pokemon was in its domain, that struggle was a losing battle in the Lord of the Distortion World’s favor.

With the rift closed, and new curiosities in tow, there was only one thing to do in its mind:

To get them to Father!

That being said, do not say anything about commissioning art for this fic. Those comments will always be struck down, though anything else is fair game at the moment.

Though don’t push it.
