You are you.
It’s as simple as that.
Still water doesn’t show you the right face in the reflection sometimes. Nor do mirrors, shattered or unbroken. Photographs from your youth show you the face of Sora, which is, you suppose, the person you are now.
But for the most part you aren’t.
You’re more like the leftover pieces of Sora.
Bits and pieces of everyone Sora has loved, everyone you have loved. All stuck together with glue. Taped into place. Mimicking a semblance of what he is because that dopey kid that was best friends with Riku and Kairi and Donald and Goofy that wanted to save the day “died” when he stabbed himself.
You saw it happen with your own two eyes. His eyes. Your eyes? You are Sora, after all. All of you that live in his body and cluster up around what little remains of him to keep him from truly fading away. Fragments and shards and chunks of hearts, sheltering around his own which has been home to too many to be truly his anyways. New things exist in him now.
Not you.
You were there when Ventus joined and when Roxas broke away. You were there for Kairi and Xion. You’ve been there since day one. You were Sora when Sora was just Sora.
Before Sora was Kairi.
Before Sora was Ventus.
Before Sora was Roxas.
Before Sora was Xion.
Before Sora was anyone that isn’t Sora.
You’ve been inside of his skull since day one.
Maybe that makes you Sora. Or is it the way his visage fits your senses perfectly that makes you Sora. Really what makes you more Sora than Roxas? Is it the heart? You’re not so sure.
“Sora!”
You perk right up.
You aren’t Sora, you decide.
Sora is you.
