For those watching this update, and fearing the worst- 50 Days and a Handful More will continue releasing on a weekly schedule.
The following fanfic, and indeed everything that will be posted outside of that specific AU, represent works that I have either done in my spare time around 50 Days on a whim, or- as is notable here specifically- works I have had written to a certain point for years now. They represent stories that, much like Skein, I have built and planned for a long time going, that unfortunately take too much time for me to continue at this precise moment.
The main difference being, Skein was at least posted to Ao3.
After a talk with one of the few friends who has access to the document these have been saved to however, it was decided that I will post it. Even knowing it will likely be years before I can return to it, to Skein as well, what is there deserves to be read.
Not the least because of what it represents.
Skein, or as those on FF-net know it, 'Skin', was my first real 'take-off' story. But the first big multichapter work I ever made was a Detective Conan story known as 'Section F'. It....was clunky. It had a lot that needed work. But it represented a vital part of my heart, enough that eventually I sat down to review the canon it came from and do something I almost never do.
Rework, and rewrite, that story.
A crossover was eventually added as well as you can see, but what matters is that a significant part of my soul as a writer can now exist here, to be witnessed by those who have known my works for some time. Perhaps it will be, as expected, years before I can truly update it. Perhaps it, or Skein, will suddenly find such a blast of inspiration in me that I can add more to them even while working on 50 Days and indeed my own original works.
Either way, I can only hope that those of you here enjoy what you see.
(Or, at the least, take heart in knowing that 50 Days will still be posting. I've staked a career on that one you know!)
As an additional note, per the very good suggestion of a commenter on one of my hiatused Zexal fanfics, Each chapter posted will include the exact date of posting as a top-note. As chapters will be posted in batches as they are adjusted and edited, this should help people to not lose their place as updates are made.
I will also, to that end, note when we have reached the last update from the existing material.
