There will always be a part of Kathryn that feels guilt over stranding her crew so impossibly far from home, even if it was the right choice to make.
But there's another part of her – the curious scientist she's nurtured since childhood – which is grateful they're stuck somewhere interesting.
Kathryn sits on the Bridge, wondering what new thing they'll stumble across next.
“Captain, I'm picking up something on the long-range scanners,” Harry announces.
“What is it?”
He furrows his eyebrows. “Not sure. It's… kinda weird.”
She feels a spark of excitement in her gut.
“Let's go take a closer look.”
