Parrot didn't really know how he got in this situation.
Three Law commanders stood in front of him in full netherite, weapons drawn and already potted up with speed, fire resistance and strength. Or at least that's what he guessed by the colour of the particles surrounding them.
Don’t get him wrong he was good at PVP especially after the classes his brothers had put him through, and Theo gave him a few tips too. But there was no way he could get away unharmed as he hoped when just one of the people in front of him could go toe to toe with Flame. If he wasn't careful this could go very wrong for him.
It didn't really help Parrot's case that he was in diamond armour, even if it was all protection four.
What he was going to do he was not excited about, Parrot always had prided himself in being independent and being able to get out of trouble on his own, besides his brothers would laugh at him. But this wasn't like something he could just get away from, so he sighed heavily and messaged in the group chat he had with his brothers for help.
But doubt started to creep over him, what if they didn't notice his messages? Apart from him, the others weren't really on good terms at the moment. Did they even consider a brother? He had apologised but he didn't know if they were just putting up with him to extinguish the Law. He huffed as he unlocked the comm device while staring ahead, he couldn't doubt the others like this.
Parrot was one of the main people leading the revolution against Lettuce and organizing most of the important decisions, and these commanders knew that. Why you may ask? Well they offered to not hurt him if he spilled what he knew and just went with them, of course he said no, it was obvious he was going to get executed. And the law leader had fucked up massively and with too many people, now it was their time to rise up against the Law.
So he threw a few windcharges to the face of the commanders making them stumble back a few steps as he turned around and ran behind one of the pillars of the grand construction where they would have to inevitably fight, even if it was going to be one sided, he send some desperate sounding messages to the groupchat with his brothers, other very special members of the resistance, named Flamefrags, Spoke and Wemmbu.
Parrot: guys help.
Parrot: (cords.)
Parrot: Law commanders.
Parrot: help.
Parrot: please.
The four of them were on the same side for once… he just needed to stay alive long enough for them to get here and help him. And maybe wait for them to stop arguing with each other, these guys were some of the strongest of the server?
The parrot hybrid heard his communicator ding several times, with responses from the others, probably. But he couldn't afford time to look when these commanders were fighting so ruthlessly against him, Parrot had taken to fighting defensively now, just blocking and dodging as best as he could while trying not to get hit.
This couldn't be so bad right? It couldn't be farther from the truth, he realised he spoke too fast when his enemies organized and synchronized against him, these guys were really cooking him up.
One particular hard kick in his side made him stumble back. His side sparked in intense pain as his back hit a wall behind him, hard. His wings flapped as he tried to get stable on his feet again, before he felt the pressure of a sword pressing against the side of his abdomen, just in between the plates of his armour. As soon as he noticed he realized this was going to fucking suck.
A raw scream was torn out of him as the sword was shoved forwards and pierced his body, making piercing pain dominate his side, effectively pinning him to the wall as he thrashed and his wings flapped trying to escape this predicament that had fallen upon him.
He felt blood gushing out of the wound around the sword along with his heart beat. He tried to grab the wall to support himself as his legs suddenly felt like they were jelly and at the same time heavy as concrete, safe to say he couldn't really move them. His arms immediately went to the wound trying to keep more blood from escaping his body, he hissed at the smallest pressure he put on it.
After a few moments of allowing himself to breathe properly, or more like forcing himself to take deep breaths rather than gasp for air, Parrot noticed one of the commanders named SargeLaw was saying something but the ring on his ears was so loud he could barely hear him, he didn't care though. His eyes struggled to keep open as his eyelids fluttered, the whispers of sleep sounding so promising but he just had to resist.
Parrot was not going to talk, so kept silent, that was a mistake.
Seeing that, one of them grabbed his hair and suddenly his head was slammed against the wall with enough force to make him see stars and let the edges of his vision go dark before he managed to steady his ragged breathing. He only managed to make out two questions out of the whole lot they asked him.
“Where is your guy's base?”
“What are the revolutionists’ plans?
They kept asking and he had to give it to them. They were stubborn, but they were not as stubborn as Parrot… he didn't talk and he wasn't going to. Suddenly as if it was a sliver mercy one of them dropped an instant health potion on him, laughing when he hissed and his eyes watered at the searing burn and stretch of his body sewing back together, but it was hopeless as one mere potion with no glowstone added to make its effects stronger was nothing but just a few hours back on Parrot, considering the amount of blood that stained his clothes and pooled at the floor.
Parrot's body was fixed for a few seconds before one of the three twisted the damned sword keeping him pinned against the wall, making him drown in pain and let out an ear piercing scream before he choked on his own blood, coughing his throat out. He tried to curl against the wall but his standing position and the sword throughout his middle kinda prevented that.
He just hoped his brothers could get here faster, if he predicted correctly half an hour had already passed since his communicator had been thrown out of his reach, leaving him with no contact and no hopes for help if the others didn't get his earlier messages.
His wings flapped instinctively sending dust and small rocks to the commanders, a small amused grin took over Parrot's face at the scene. It clearly made them mad though, because one of the commanders, the same one from before, pressed a boot against his wings that were low to the floor thanks to the feeling that his head was stuffed with cotton and his extremities encaged in concrete, the parrot hybrid could feel a few feathers ripping at the weight. Parrot tried to struggle but it was useless and just wasting his energy more.
“You better answer Parrot, Lettuce gave us permission to mess these pretty wings up if we needed too.” One of them said loudly but for him it sounded so far away and it was hard to hear with the ringing in his ears.
He hissed loudly in shooting pain as another hand pulled his head up, his cheeks wettened as tears of frustration finally fell. When had he let his head fall? When did he start crying? To meet the gaze of the three dogs that were useful enough to the Law to keep around. They laughed at his misery and Parrot let his eyes fall to the floor once again, eyes catching on some spark of shine in the distance but he gave it no thought. He couldn't afford to get distracted in anything else than keeping pressure around the sword to prevent more blood from falling.
Suddenly the hand in his hair and the boot pressing against his wing disappeared and he exhaled in relief, mind drifting and eyes dropping to a close unconsciously, he needed to catch up on sleep anyways…
A pair of hands shook him awake and he groaned in pain, arms quickly and shakily coming to shove the person in front of him away and the person stepped away, not wanting to panic him more. Parrot was giving already into the dark, to the abysm that promised rest, but soon familiar shouts reached his ears, too familiar.
The kind of shouts that were full of desperation and concern and worry and so many more emotions he couldn't remember the name right now.
The person in front of him who was the owner of the hands, probably noticed his subtle change in demeanor and got close again. The hands wiped his tears away gently as the person talked, it sounded like Spoke, was this him?
Holy shit. His brothers were here, they had made it, the three of them had come to help him.
“S- Spoke?” Parrot murmured, voice breaking as he at least managed to croak out something, his eyes rising to the black and rainbow blob in front of him. He panted like he had run a marathon, what was up with him?
“Yeah it's me,” Spoke said, rushed and really nervous. Now that he thought about it the other was kind of muffled, “Deep breaths okay? And don't you dare fall asleep on me, Parrot.”
“Wha-” He was cut off and let out an excruciating scream of pain as Spoke grabbed the netherite sword and pulled firmly and didn't let go until the sword was out and safely thrown out of reach. Once he was free Parrot fell forwards towards his brother, his body giving up like a puppet with its strings cut or like a sack of potatoes with no support.
“I got you, I got you.” The voidling assured and was quick to catch him and assist him in taking a regeneration potion because if Parrot had to take one alone he would probably drop it to the floor. As soon as he drank the potion he groaned and cursed as his body healed back up, still the injury on his side showed no signs of closing any time soon even if the blood slowed and now had turned to a drip thanks to the regeneration potion.
“Oh fuck!” Parrot exclaimed, leaning heavily on Spoke as his own body showed no signs of responding to him. His now not so injured wings weighed heavy behind him, dragging across the floor. The voidling carefully moved them to a happy ghast, Parrot's happy ghast, that was stationed nearby from when the parrot hybrid had just arrived at this place to get some of the things they left behind after the ambush on the Law castle.
“Okay alright, i got this,” Spoke reassured, not Parrot but himself. He handed his brother a roll of bandages to squeeze, The bird groaned in pure despair as he knew what the other was going to need to do. “Just breathe Parrot, you are going to need stitches."
A moment of silence overpowered both of them, and Parrot focused on the sounds of the other fighting, wondering who would win. It was not enough to distract him from the pain though, he hissed and cursed as the other worked, he tried to be quiet because Spoke would flinch slightly at every sound of pain that escapes Parrot.
Spoke was more than almost done with his work when the missing two brothers managed to make the Law commanders retreat but not before draining their resources and fighting for who did the most in the battle of course. The two fighters arrived at the happy ghast, each one settling in their own place on opposite sides of the ghast.
“That doesn't look good.” Wemmbu stated, although his voice did sound a little bit concerned as he saw his state.Flame snorted and Parrot sighed heavily, sinking into himself, the heavy weight in his chest leaving and the tension on his shoulder gone to finally let him relax, only for his brothers to say stupid shit like that.
“Really?” Parrot said, sounding so done, his voice almost quiet was also stained with clear exhaustion, "I feel like I died bro, leave me alone.” he whined leaning into Spoke as much as he could with his beaten up body, as the other ended with his medical work after wrapping his middle in bandages. The voidling tightened his grip and Parrot just melted further into the cold temperature of Spoke’s body.
“Dude!” he heard the other exclaim, defending him and being useful for once, "Don't bully him now!” Then he felt the other grin even if his head was tuckered on Spoke's shoulder and couldn't really see him, “We are going to do that later bros.”
The other two laughed, together for once. As he scowled and shoved Spoke away from him, he did succeed in making space between him and the voidling. However, Flame quickly darted forwards and caught him before he could get away from any of them, Parrot quickly realized the ghast was already taking off and flying up to the sky. God , he would have fallen if it wasn't for the blaze hybrid… as the other grabbed him he also noticed something else.
Unlike Spoke whose body temperature was somewhat coolish, Flame’s was the complete opposite being a blaze and all he was rather warm. He sank into that warmth wordlessly as Flame adjusted him so the blaze hybrid could hold him comfortably for both of them on the rest of the ride back to the base.
It was an awkward ride back, the air tense between them. Not so long ago each one of them was doing their own thing but the Law had become much of a threat to ignore, Parrot supposed this was going to be a one time thing, it was not often all of them were on the same side and this wouldn't last if these guys didn't get their shit together and made up. He had heard Wemmbu’s and Flame’s sides respectively and it sounded like a misunderstanding, a very big one, but one that could be fixed with some honest talks.
As long as they didn't bother him too much, Parrot was already dealing with his own body and mind catching up to everything that happened. Maybe they all could be civil with each other while Parrot catched up on his rest, their journey was not that long but with the ghast it became so much slower.
Flame felt the parrot hybrid lean further into his warmth, Parrot had almost fell down when he tried to get away from Spoke earlier, and the three of them begrudgingly agreed to not annoy the bird too much while he recuperated…
