“So, you’re the legendary King Sal, are you? And this is your Revenge? Pretty good revenge, as far as ships go. Does the other ship have its own name, or is it just like. King Sal’s Other Revenge. That’s kinda funny, actually, if it doesn’t have a name already you should call it that. I like the black sails. Must get really hot under the sun all day, but I guess it’d probably keep the glare down, which. Might help with the sailing. Especially with, you know, the eyepatch and everything. Hard to see if the sun’s in your only eye.”
“Actually, I know you were around last season, when Jevin got exiled for…permit stuff? I’m not really 100% sure what got Jevin exiled, there was a bit too much shenanigans going on for me to keep track of it. I’m assuming that’s where the King thing came from, since I don’t recall you ever being King. Are you a King Captain now, or just a Captain and the boat just still says King? Maybe cuz it’s shorter.”
“Me? Oh, I’m doing pretty well so far this season, besides procrastinating by talking to a fish. Trying not to plan anything out too hard, you know? Just keeping everything connected to the first building, so it’s all connected–that’s. What I just said. Good job. Anyways. I just built a cave, so, that’s pretty cool. I hope. Been hoping to show Jev to it, I know he’s good with the magic greenery and stuff from last season, but he’s been so busy digging out the bay I hardly see him at a–”
The sound of a throat clearing behind her. False whirled, and immediately cleared her throat, pretending like her entire face wasn’t flushed.
Jevin blinked at her from the stairs.“What are you doing?”
She pointed down at the salmon head staring one-eyed back at them. “Talking to Sal. See you do it all the time, thought I’d try it out. Boat has his name on it, so I figured he was in charge, might have something useful to say.”
“I see. Has he?”
“Well, he hasn’t said anything back, but he’s a good listener. Better than you, even.” A shrug, and a wink.
