Chapter 1: Push Towards the Edge

Chapter Text

Lunar could do nothing as Earth grew most stressed and angry as the days went on. He could do nothing to help Mars learn more about the technology down in the lab or help find out what had affected Night. He couldn't find the parts to fix Comedy Bot. He hadn't been able to take sense into Roxas or Bonnie. He could do nothing to protect his friends from Day. He couldn't even protect himself, or even be upgraded to give him the ability to do so. Even his attempts to bring joy, to bring smiles to his friends faces failed. They hated his jokes, his gags, everything he did. He just felt completely useless.

He sat in the back area behind his room. He had to think of something, anything, he could do to be of some use to his friends, to the people he cared about most. "That mind of yours is filled with such doubt." Lunar shot up trying to find the source of the voice. "You're not wrong you know. You've done nothing to help any of the people you care about. If anything you've caused them more problems. I mean Earth, and even Harvest to some extent, have to waste their precious time protecting you when they have better things to be doing."

"Stop talking, you don't know what you're even talking about." The voice just laughed "Why so you can go back to thinking about how Andromeda and Dazzle could care less about what happened to you? Or maybe how your jokes always land flat?"

"I said stop talking." "Heck even amongst other Lunar variants you're a weird little failure. I mean most Lunars gain some kind of powers, yet here you stand with nothing to your name. And even those without powers at least have a family to call their own. Where's your family? Bonnie, Roxas, Chico, and Andromeda may not get along but they've been together since the start, even after everything they still hold the others dear. Earth and Mars are siblings and they've basically adopted Dazzle as their little sister. Who does that leave Harvest who could care less about you and DJ who finds you oh so annoying, she hates that she has to share a creator with something like you."

"Shut up!" Lunar's voice wavered as he spoke. "Oh, should I do that? That's what you were just thinking wasn't it? Dear Lunar I can see inside your head. I know you know what I say is true because it's your own thoughts. You're just upset I'm saying it out loud." Lunar was silent at this because, well what was he going to say, it was true after all.

"Earth was so quick to accept Mars as her brother and she hadn't even met him. Yet when it comes to you, the one she woke up beside, the one who'd been by her side since the start, well she's made it clear she barely even sees you as a friend!"

Lunar couldn't stop the tears from falling down his cheeks. "Why are you doing this?" "Because I want to help!" That comment just angered Lunar. "Please do tell, how is reminding me about all this stuff I already know supposed to help me!" "It won't but I need to make sure you understand your situation before I made my offer!" The voice said now coming from right behind him.

Lunar whipped around to see what looked like, was that another version of himself? No it looked more like that other dimensions version of himself, Cosmos, that he'd met in the past. But this one was much darker, both in design and the aura he gave off. "Who are you?" Lunar said slowly backing away his fear creeping into his voice.

"I am Titan. I am what happens when a Lunar removes all of their doubt, their weakness, and everything else that holds them back." Titans smile scared Lunar. He'd never seen a face so full of malice. "You never answered my question. Why are you here, just wanted to watch me suffer, remind me of everything I hate about myself?" Titan let out an overdramatic gasp. "Of course not, I said I had an offer didn't I?"

Lunar glared at his counterpart attempting to hide the fear he was feeling. "And what is this offer?" Titan leaned down looking Lunar dead in the eyes. "I guess it's less of an offer, more a reminder. There's something you can use to solve all your problems, so use it." Lunar was confused what was this guy talked about?

"You know what I'm talking about. You just don't realize it. But once you do the sad, pathetic, weak, version of you I'm looking at right now will disappear. You'll have the power to be whatever you want. You'll finally be worth something to anyone." the condescension in Titans voice was clear as he spoke to Lunar like he was child who was refusing to listen.

How did this guy know what he'd been thinking! It made Lunar shake even more then he was before, completely terrified of the being in front of him. "I can see everything that goes on on that mind of yours. I can see all your deepest thoughts. Both about yourself and the others. I wonder what they would think of you if I told them what you really think of them." As he spoke Titans been walking towards Lunar. Lunar was to frozen in fear to move.

Titan loomed over Lunar, a psychotic smile stretched across his face."Take my advice. Take your life into your own hands. Who cares what anybody else thinks?" Lunar attempted to look away but Titan was quick to grab Lunar's face forcing the smaller bot to look him in the eyes. "Who cares who you hurt as long as your having fun?" Releasing Lunar's face Titan let of a terrifying laugh before he vanished.

Lunar collapsed to the ground. Tears running freely down his cheeks. He'd been completely helpless. Titan had been able to show up in his room and corner him and Lunar hadn't been able to do anything about it. And everything Titan had said? Lunar knew it was true, but to actually hear someone say it?

What had Titans even been talking about? Something that could solve all his problems? He couldn't think of anything like....that. No no no no no. Titan couldn't be talking about th...the..the star right?
